Watching Spencer Tracy act is mesmerizing. His every movement and facial expression coveys the heart and soul of the character he is acting. I can't put it differently.
I know exactly what you mean. I saw this first as a teen, I’d never even heard of Spencer Tracy at that time and I was blown away. I genuinely didn’t know that actors could be that good.
RIP Spencer Tracy (April 5, 1900 - June 10, 1967), aged 67 And RIP Edward Binns (September 12, 1916 - December 4, 1990), aged 74 You both will always be remembered as legends.
Although I've known it for decades, watching William Shatner in this role just reinforces the fact to me that his portrayal of James T. Kirk wasn't an artifact of Shatner himself, but just the way he chose to portray him.
God, who WASN’T In this movie? Spencer Tracey, Burt Lancaster, Judy Garland, Montgomery Clift, Richard Widmark, Maximilian Schell, Edward Binns, Bill Shatner. It’s crazy
Ernie Borgnine, Alec Guinness, Freddie March, Bill Holden, Stewart, Olivier. Kramer tried to get Olivier, but he was booked, and Kramer had to settle for Lancaster, who stunk.
I understand that West Side Story won Best Movie that year, and WWS was a good movie, and in many years would have deserved that Oscar. But Judgement at Nuremberg might be the best movie ever. Might.
@@k.t.5405 yep! From what I understand about the man he can be a little on the arrogant side but in all fairness he’s a pretty decent actor. I’m 59 I threw up on Star Trek. Best regards to you and your family from the state of Kentucky.
There could have been more than 20 such trials involving Americans and Britishersm had Bollywood had guts for Vietnam,Iraq and Pakistan wars with silly purposes😊
Hollywood at its best....I love it. They had no clue about Germany, anyway, this film is fantastic because it is from the old times: Black and white, no smart phones, .........

Spencer Tracy blew my mind when I first saw this film about 5 years ago. Captivating
"You're Westpoint aren't you captain?" "No Sir. Starfleet Academy. Year 2254."
Ha good one
dammit jim

Perhaps the greatest screen actor of them all. He makes a routine establishing scene brilliantly revealing.
@russellcampbell9198 There are no "routine establishing scenes."

The references to food are interesting - memories of "das Hungerjahr" as they say in German. I never knew what they meant before.
Spencer Tracy a great actor
This movie has so much to say in America today.
@marccolten9801 And what might that be?
Kirk got a hell of a promotion, huh.
He was a Captain here and a Captain in Star Trek. A Star-fleet Captain commands a little more respect and responsibility.
Army Captain is an 0-3. Star Fleet follows Navy ranks. Captain is 0-6.
The man oozes charm
William Shatner already a Captain in 1961.
But he was an Army captain here.
Is that William Shatner?? Was this his first movie role??
Yes. This was actually before Star Trek. I love Star Trek
No, he had a small role as a crook in some other film, and in 1958 he was in a film version of The Brothers Karamazov, he played Alexey.

Brown Bricks
Marlon Brando. He applied for the part of attorney Hans Rolfe but was turned down :-)

William Shatner what an awesome actor. Oozes charm and authority
This movie was made during the Eichman trial in Jerusalem.
The Numberg Trials is the best show as it shows the worst in some of the Germans

Might.
William Shatner! And he still around acting. Fun fact, he lived in the state of Kentucky in Lexington on a horse farm until about four years ago.
Last surviving cast member...

Great acting, except for Burt "I always over-act" Lancaster.
Pabu May, with that statement you must be the biggest damn fool on the Planet
and that is an understatement of your ignorance and stupidity.
Indeed. Lancaster really overreact in this one. Other movies of his the actings are somewhat ok.
Little known fact, Judge Haywood was Italian, his last name was Jablomi
