Do you know if the tracks are the same as the 1550 excavator? I lost mine in moving but was thinking of this for replacement tracks and the crane on another project..
Feel free to post questions here in comments. Glad to answer questions. If I don't know the answer I'll just make one up! JK, how's your play area coming along?
I replaced the factory hook, it is too big and heavy. And the tracks are actually 180 degrees off. Drive motors go in the front. Easy fix, just rewire.
Yes, when the drive motors are in the front, the drive sprockets are feed cleaner track as well, resulting in longer sprocket life. The hook has a weight in it. Without the weight it's about right weight more or less. Thanks for the comment.
i was searching out a load limit for this crane before i buy it. you video is exactly what i was looking to find! good stuff
Thanks man! Appreciate you saying so.
Hello the clicking is not gears skipping teeth. The machine has a built in clutch.

I think the tracks on the 1550 excavator are shorter than the 1572 crane. But don't quote me on that lol...
Same as 1550
What are the things atop of your crane.
It's a 12" homemade Jib extension. Give it a bit more height and reach.

I made it out of pine wood and 3d printed shive roller.

Does the crane boom move up and down?
Yes the boom moves up and down. I had it boomed all the way up for the test.
RC Ricky B awesome thanks for the info! I’d like to get a hydraulic one one day but if I can get started cheap that’s the goal!
