RCC in my opinion is all about the water to cement ratio. If using dump trucks from a central mix batch plant having just enough water to get the complete hydration reaction and no more than needed and you will have very durable concrete, Generally this will have almost no slump. RCC mixes usually replace the flyash content with more cement, thus making a 3,000 psi flyash mix into a 5,000 psi mix because the flyash is replaced with more cement, thus making it VERY potent especially in hot weather. In cold weather applications a 2% per hundred weight of a non-corrosive accelerator will make it safe to drive on in a couple of days. If it is being poured out of a mixer truck, instead of dump trucks, a water reducer "plasticizer" or high range water reducer "super plasticizer" will allow ease of placability, without compromising the strength of the concrete, since plasticizers only work for an hour or so until the concrete returns to true slump.
