This was great to see. I live in Ludgershall and family have been here for over 100 years. I remember playing at the station area before the housing was built when I was about 12, over 45 years ago. I fantastic opportunity to see this.
    Thank you

Great video. I remember this day well. It was a good railtour and I was certainly glad to have been on this. Certainly will not be forgetting this day anytime soon

Was on this Railtour (and maybe the last tour to do Platform 0 back in the 90's?). Excellent job in recording the events along the Ludgershall branch.

Thank you for your kind comment, I had to do a lot of running to catch it in different places 😃. Hope you enjoyed your day on the tour 👍🏻

Thanks for a really interesting video ! I first heard about this line when I was working for part of the MoD back in the early 2000's - I would love to have joined this railtour ! 😎

Appreciate you taking time to watch 😃. I struggled with wanting to join the railtour versus capture it from the ‘outside’ for historical reference. I think I made the right choice as it was a baking hot day with no aircon on the train!!

When those on the Railtour poured out onto Andover station they looked very hot and bothered, only to find the mens toilets were closed! 😱

Excellent. Only remaining part of the MSWJR. I was lucky enough to visit on a DEMU railtour a few years back.

wow, used to regularly cabride the ludgershall line in a crompton in the 80s!

My grandparents used to live in Andover and while I never got a cab ride down the branch I did get a few cab rides (crompton) in the old postal train that used to shunt and leave in the evenings from Andover back in the late 70's/80's. Not sure when it stopped but the sidings and think the old goods shed have gone now. When they first moved there I remember the two signal boxes at each end of the station. Also the remains of the town station were still there.
      Happy memories.

You don't get off the train and theres nothing much left there and nothing sensitive so there wouldn't be an issue
