Though I’ve not heard her before, I accidentally logged into this site and am hooked in the voice of Shende Ji. Tilak Kamod is a very enchanting Raga and she has perfect control on her voice.

Excellent programmes, learning about Indian Classical singing, not much talk, just enough to explain key points about the raag, and a good deal of singing including references to some film songs. All I suggest is adding English sub titles. I am sure lots of non Indian people all over the world see this programme. We can learn and better appreciate classical singing.

Very nice presentation. Especially the composition by Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar Ji is very sublime. In the Aaroh, I feel it is better to sing SRGS RmPD MPNS' instead of SRMPNS to distinguish it from the Sarang ang.
Savani ji, while complimenting your laudable talent, training, and your well honed singing skills with high regard, for the life of me, I am not able to comprehend why on earth you have chosen to present "Piya Tose Nayana Lage Re"...that eternal Lata didi classic from Guide, to showcase raga Tilak Kamod. While listening to the aforesaid gem countless times over the decades, it is evident that, the late Sachin da, while maintaining the Khamaj thaat canvas, has undoubtedly deviated from the traditional Tilak Kamod mould, by taking creative liberty with the raga grammar, swar juxtaposing and chalan, which, of course, is, more often than not, so essential for the composer to ideate and express while composing a gem of this musical magnitude. That said, it is at best, a diluted version of the said raga. While granting your prerogative to personal preference of song selection, it would, perhaps, have been more fitting had you chosen to sing one of the more "traditional' songs that faithfully follow the Tilak Kamod template. To name a few....."Ravi Mi, Chandra Kasa" (from Sangeet Maanapamaan), "Ye Neer Kahaan Se Barse", that timeless gem that Lata didi has rendered to perfection for the late Jaidev, in Prem Parbat, or "Thandi Thandi Sawan Ki Phuhar", that Asha tai's eternal classic from Jagte Raho, tuned by the legendary Salil da, or "Gagan Sadan Tejomay" composed by Hridaynath ji for Umbartha, or even "Vishwache He Amche Vaibhav Gaje, Amhi Duniyeche Raje" (Master Krishna Rao Phulambrekar), are some of the classic songs composed in Tilak Kamod, that the connoisseur can easily identify with. Just thought, I should share my thoughts on this video, with you, specially in the context and spirit of the Raag Ranjan series. Best wishes.

every thing is just excellent, and well explained ,how eber i have a to small sugestions: 1- before singing the raaga please request the artist to read the sthae and antera part of the raaga slowly and without singing and traslate it if its in sansicrt languages, which will have two benifits first we will be able to understand what the poem is about secondly we will be able to write down the poem esilly , secondly the taans part shoud be written in the text box or at least a lesson how to make taans from Aroh and Avroh, thanks in anticipation and God blees you guys
Why do a lot of other indian classical musicians feel that the song “piya tose naina laage re” is more close to Raga Khamaj as opposed to Raga Tilak Kamod?
@@yashrajsingh3750 we can't find a typical raaga in film songs...😅as music directors composes as per the situation.. not raga based.. As above said des khamaj mix... It's true because tilak kamodh is very similar to des raad as it has same Aroh but Avroh is deferent... Both Desh and Tilak kamodh are of khamaj ❤

It has Major Tilak Kamod ang...but yes many time des ang and another raaga of khamaj fused
