I am so tickled to see Mr. H standing up straight! My back aches every time I see the poor fellow bending down to be in frame. I found you long ago when I was trying to get advice on growing potatoes. It is great to see how your methods are changing and growing. I just love coming here when I need a feel good afternoon. I do plant my potatoes in self-watering containers, and actually try to do 3 rounds (different containers each time) a year here in Central Florida. I so appreciate the two of you!
Hudson, Fl here. I got pure beach sand to work with. Mr. Hart is in great shape and as a male myself that is almost 50, I need to get my weight and health in control.
We garden the same way and then flood irrigate the rows. Our soil is very sandy as well. It also helps keep our bind weed more under control because we do not water all of the ground and the walk ways are mulched thickly with grass clippings and leaves. When planting the potatoes, because we hill them a couple times, we then make the irrigation troughs on each side and then let it slowly irrigate, saturating the hills, this also makes the spuds grow deeper, so no sun scalded potatoes, we also mulch around the plants to hold the moisture in better. We grow Caribe, Honey Gold and Yukon Gold. Happy harvest!
You two are such a blessing. I just want to be an adopted niece or something. I have learned so much from y’all not only about gardening but marriage as well. The teamwork is phenomenal and beautiful to watch.
Funny you mentioned the cardboard box. I had extra seed potatoes left over and decided to use your trick of using a cardboard box. Spouse thought I was nuts, but hey, if it works, we get 10-20 lbs more potatoes!
Try Bone Sauce, Billy at Perma Pastures Farm. We have never seen anything like it, It has sure kept the deer away from our gardens for the last two years now. We have LOTS of deer, always been a issue but haven't had anything messed with since ..They walk around the garden. Sounds crazy but it seriously works. We also started making it last year..I don't ever wanna be without it, works awesome
Mrs. H. if the deer are digging up your potatoes, but they're not eating them, are u shure their not poison for you to eat ??? i pray that you and Mr. H. are not putting your health in danger down the road. Stay safe and GOD BLESS!!!
MRS H I VE BEEN FOLLING YOU FOR A WHILE AND LOVE YA ALL. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR SKIN. YOUR LOOKING 10 YEARS YOUNGER. IM 72 AND I NOTICE THESE THINGS. GIRL YOU LOOKING GOOD. TAKE CARE MRS AND MR H. GID BLESS YOU❤❤❤❤
Thank you for all you do. My wife and I enjoy your show so much. We grew Striped Cushaw Squash last year, but we did not get a video to you though. We grew two small sized and one rather large one.
Such a beautiful family, this channel always just warms my heart. Just some good people doing some good growing the good ol southern way. God loves yall and so do we!
Can't wait to see the video that shows how to stop the deer...thier buddies the rabbits I think stand as look outs 😅 Gardening is not a Disney movie 🎥 I'm glad we have you to learn from 😂😂😂
Marigolds, dog hair, sage, dryer lint, catmint (not regular mint), garlic, thyme, chives, oregano, hot sauce, dog urine, & male human urine around the perimeter of the garden will repell deer. I dont do the urine thing, but if it's all a person has available, it does works.
I really like your family! Working together willing to help out. Not many families do that. I swear the two of you are a match made in Heaven. I think you found your soul mates. Jealous? Me? Wishful thinking maybe but most of all I am very, very happy for the two of you. Doing that stuff an smiling!! It can get rough but you support and encourage each other. I wish the same happiness for your family. God Bless You both.
Hello to you! I just watched your potato planting - as I want to plant them also - though not on such a grand scale. It's just my husband and I, so we plant in buckets.. Recently, I have seen TH-cam videos on herbicides in straw or hay. Which when watered in the garden -- the herbicide will actually go into the plants. The most recent one I watched was Jacques in the Garden. Great idea on your potato beds! Looking forward to some blue potatoes!
Thank y’all so much for taking it step by step. We are growing our first time in raised beds and it’s been tough. We paid for topsoil and now that topsoil is mostly clay. So we added as much compost, mulched leaves as we could find to mix in it. My potatoes look beautiful but the ground is so hard and dry clay. I’m praying they will produce we are adding old hay, compost as we get it. If anyone has any advice I’d sure appreciate it!
Ugh... I had the exact same thing happen last year. Built raised boxes and bought a truckload of topsoil, hoping to fill my two boxes and add some to my already heavy, clay soil in the garden. So frustrating! What I ended up getting was just as bad if not worse than what I already have! My potatoes did not fare well. I added compost and leaves and will do the same thing this year but I still don't think it will be good this year. Makes ya wanna dig it all out and return to sender!🤪
So exciting to see your new space in growing action. I grew Adirondack Blue potatoes last year and they were amazing. So creamy and rich in flavor. I saved seed potato’s from last year’s harvest and my plants are currently flowering here in south Texas 🥰. Hope y’all have a bountiful harvest 🩵
Love the idea of blue potatoes! We did purple once when our son was little and they were very high yield and creamy textured. Also who doesn't love purple mashed potatoes!
I got new ideas thanks to the Hart Family. I only have a 1/2 acre yard here in the Tampa Metro, but seeing your 60 ft beds, I noticed I could make them by rearranging my four 8ft by 8 ft beds into rows instead of squares. By the way you guys have motivated me with all your hard work! God Bless.
My concern is both corn and potatoes are heavy feeders...keep that in mind and add some climbing beans to the corn area after the corn gets a head start for nitro boost.
I love your videos! What a wonderful family! Thank you for all your information and advice! I will say that I thought my kids would like purple potatoes, especially mashed. It sounded fun. Of course when I tried them, the kids were 12 and 15..... Anyway, I think it's age dependent.
You all are a blessing…… you’re not just teaching us to garden; you all are also saving lives. Thank You so much!!!!! 🙏🏽
Yes they are!!!

I only wish I had help to move the hose🤣 people don’t realize how a little help, saves time.
Thank you for sharing with us! So happy to see your family joining in! Many blessings to you all!
Such a pleasure to watch you two. Good vibes all the way around. Peace and love to you!!
Potatoes are my favorite to grow. Well…the digging up is the fun part ❤🤣
Disposable Pie pans on a strang attached to stakes where thay can blow in the wind works well too to keep animals out of your gardens

I grew the solid red and blue potatoes one year and made potato salad for the Fourth of July 😊 was the talk of the meal.
Good day to all, peace and grow well!
Thank you all for the seeds, I am so excited to see 👀 my seedlings 🌱!!!!
You guys are such a cute couple! I love seeing other people garden. It helps me learn many different ways to do things ❤
You two are such a blessing. I just want to be an adopted niece or something. I have learned so much from y’all not only about gardening but marriage as well. The teamwork is phenomenal and beautiful to watch.

I think a squirrel dug up 2 of my Potatoes.
Thank you so much for teaching us. Love and peace to all.
😳 Where's the sweet potatoes?? 🤔 Your son should have a side gig putting in new garden beds. That looks great. 👍
What a wonderful son❤

Beautiful potato bed. I hope to someday have enough land to have a huge garden. I have several raised beds on our .29 acre lot.

@@blueangel977 yes! So aggravating! Hoping if we just keep adding compost leaves and a little chicken poo it’ll work out.
Love seeing how you planted. And fun to see a quick peek of your daughters!
i agree, that grandbaby is growing up way too fast. :)
Your soil looks great! Hopefully, lots of potatoes in your future.

Beautiful hearts and spirits. What a blessing you are to your subscribers.
❤ u guys🎉
Thank you. I can’t wait to see the blue potatoes
God bless y’all 🙏 with ❤potatoes 🥔
To much perlite ends up floating to the top of the container. Vermicelli mixed in will help hold water in the soil. So I use some of both 😊
Thank you.❤
I hope you get a bumper crop of potatoes this year 😊
Good Morning Everyone so glad to see your video
In Florida, my container potatoes had a lot of tiny holes in them,.
Love your videos. Always so real.
Love the idea of blue potatoes! We did purple once when our son was little and they were very high yield and creamy textured. Also who doesn't love purple mashed potatoes!
Lots of hard work!! Pretty awesome.
You guys are so special. Your love is so evident. ❤

Thank you for sharing - the new beds look great! 😊

I am so jealous of your soil
How are you doing. Hope you are feeling better
What a beautiful garden I look forward to see how it progresses. I live in 9b and most of my growing season is over
My concern is both corn and potatoes are heavy feeders...keep that in mind and add some climbing beans to the corn area after the corn gets a head start for nitro boost.

Thanks for sharing
Excellent
Love you guys! God blessed your family!
😊nice job 💕💕👍
❤ I just absolutely love watching you two.
I'm going to do containers this year. Hopefully I can get a good harvest. Thanks for these great videos..
Are the potatoes a type of hybrid? That is why the deer will not eat them! Also, the deer is telling you not to eat those potatoes. Think about it!
Just ordered more seeds you all😅
Thank you for showing and sharing 😁
How do you keep the pincher crawlie bugs out of potato beds? The kind that bore holes in them ruin them?
