I like this movie's songs than the old one. Let's be honest, The classic Willy Wonka had very repetitive music. You know with the never changing rhythm and with the line "Oompa Loompa, Doopadi Da" getting said over and over again. I like this movie more because if the creativity. First we have a Hip-hop vibe, then Dubstep/electronic, then slow and calm and finally a mixture of genres (mostly metal/rock).
Oompa Loompas: One big tremendous chew, will bite the poor girl's tougne in two. And that's why we try so hard, to save Ms. Violet Beauregarde. Yeah, and there rolling her around the room and jumping on top of her, while her head gets crushed by the ground. :P
I always thought the rotten kids represented the 7 deadly sins. Augustus was sloth and gluttony, Violet was pride, Veruca was greed and envy, and Mike was Wrath. As for lust, I'm pretty that's Violet's mom.
We'll, not really in the Gene Wilder movie so much, if you interpret his little grin as a sign of taking pleasure in the children getting what they deserved. You could say that in the original movie that he was merely smiling as if to say "They should have listened and now they have to pay the price". Johnny's seem to take sheer delight in their predicaments.
Oh yeah, "chewing, chewing all day long" my favourite song in the movie. Plus I really like Violet in this movie compared to the Violet in the other movie. Hey, did you know that the Augustus Gloop in this movie didn't actually speak English?
I dont hate you at all. I like both of them equally and I dislike when ignorant fans of the original put down this film. Lay off the kool aid and enjoy it as a film, thats what I say. These Oompa Loompa songs are better than the original ones to me.
While i like the 1971 version i get why some people hat the 1971 oompa loompa songs. They are all the same with juat agusted lyrics and tempo. While the 2005 version actually partially uses the lyrics in the book
You're right, realistically someone put through that ordeal would probably die from it. However, realistically a piece of chewing gum wouldn't cause someone to turn blue and inflate with blueberry juice, thereby making your argument somewhat less valid.

I responded saying that nothing in the film is realistic, therefore his argument was invalid. Of course I didn't actually think this movie is scientifically accurate. On the other hand, if you actually thought that this film WAS scientifically accurate... then...
I concure, having the human body morph into a 100 percent blueberry in an expedient manner will probably cause amnesia and brain loss due to juice overflowing her head. As a result, the procedure shown will cause death and a new disease from Wonka Gum to be discovered, LOL.
