Now that is a work of art. My husband and I had a 72 SS Sport. I blew the 351 and put in a 428 Cobra jet out of a 68 Mach 1. It was a blast to drive, we blew vettes, Camaros, Dodge's away in California. There full blown road rocket's. We'll keep updated with your channel. Have an awesome month
Impossible, there were no Mach I's in 1968. The Mach I logo would not come untill 1969. No doubt the 428 Cobra Jet is a street fighter. That was a real nice engine choice.
72 was my favorite Gran Torino.I remember back in 72 my older brother was thinking about buying one but didn't.I remember looking on the lots with him.It would have been nice if he had bought one with the 429 in it.
The 1972 Ford Gran Torino is so beautiful, the car itself can remind me of the movie Gran Torino (2008), which is actually named after the main character’s (Walter Kowalski - Clint Eastwood) beloved car (a dark green 1972 Ford Gran Torino Sportsroof. :)
I had a 72 fast back with a '69 429 Police Interceptor, I then found a mint coupe body/chassis with another 429 in pieces on the floor to go with it. I built the coupe into a beast and parted the fastback body. 6 point cage, ladder bars w 373 gears, built 429 w/ built C6 trans with AOD planetary gears which were lower ratio in 1st and 2nd. It was pearl white. It was near mint. I sold it and it got shipped to Norway in 2004. I had it for 17 years. I love the one year only body. Sweet ride. True muscle car IMO
I wish I would of kept my mint 72...400, C6 floor shift, buckets, factory hood scoop, it was perfect. Than I got stupid and sold it for no reason at all. The kid that bought it wrapped it around a tree 2 weeks later. I'm still sick over that, 30 years later and I'm still sick over that.

Well it has been sold years ago, it's now in Europe and got a full paintjob and interior. As far as I know it's on the market. Hit me up if you're interested
Thank you! This was actually built way before the movie so I guess I can sue for copywrights. I loved that green Torino but I fear that paint-job cost more thanwhat I spent on the whole car...
It was sold 7 years ago to a gentleman in Europe, and while it's currently back on the market, I don't think it would make much sense to ship it back to the US, sorry.
Too bad they were slow as shit stock.. My first car that I ever bought with my own hard earned cash was a 1972 Grand Torino Sport with a 351C. Now don't get me wrong, It was a first class baby blue land ship and it looked bad ass, but fast it was not.
Haha, he had never experienced something like that. The funniest part is that he is a buff former agent so you'd never think he could make a shriek like that
Why do you Americans insist on treating these awesome old beauties in such a wrecklessway? Burnouts as you call them, are to me a pointless exercise, surely there must be lessdestructive ways to warm up your tyres.

What wreckless way??? This is a very built car (upgraded engine, brakes, suspension etc)... If you prefer to use a sports car to drive it slowly and show off, you're the one using it in the wrong way. And a Gran Torino is about as rare as a Reliant Robin. Stop being a snob and appreciate other ways to enjoy the great hobby that is motors, you might find that there are many different ways of having fun. Judging other people from behind a computer screen is not one of them.
You go ahead and drive around on 1970's brakes, suspension, seats, motor, radio, tires, rimes and electrical system. I actually drive these cars and like to upgrade them, instead of making snardy comments online. Punk.

I'd literally shit in my hands and clap just to smell the fumes that come out of this beautiful machine.
I like the DeathProof logo on the hood, nice touch!
The odds of hearing Mary Jane playing at work and then clicking on a vid i have never seen to hear it play again.. were not slim at all.

not sure where you see that redline, but that's not the case at all! If I got it up there I would probably have 8 piston shaped holes in the hood, LOL
The tacho, 8750 is TDC.

Holleycarb Captain Obvious, that's an astounding observation that doesn't even come CLOSE to answering the question.
