This is just like Texas and Oklahoma kicked the tires on moving to the ACC in case the SEC and Big Ten didn’t work out or how USC/UCLA and Oregon/Washington held talks with the Big 12 just in case.

I was against getting DJ. I would rather go through growing pains with Brock. Just for the future I think it would have been better. But I know the coaches are the best ones to decide these things. I just remember how things started for some really great quarterbacks that we’ve had like Charlie and Chris . Only Jameis started out great.

@@Dre384you mean when Cam Ward chose the NFL. FSU took DJ after Cam Ward announced he was going pro. Ward only chose Miami after he decided to withdraw his name from the NFL draft.

When tamu, mizzou, ou, tu, ucla, usc announced their intentions and then negotiated their ways out. Why would that differ now? Sankey said tamu approached the sec... so why doesn't fsu approach the big 2 or have they? Ore kept having/trying to have meetings w/ b1g before announcing their leaving. Why is it different now? When tu announced their intentions, the b1g was willing to take the pr hit, even though there was no realistic chance usc would ever go to the sec. Because after tu there were only 2 "rainmakers" not in the big 2, the b1g needed to "one up" the sec.
You have people who think they're smart and know things flapping their gums. You have people who bragging is important to them talking. They focus on bragging points/stats and not financials. No one is talking about the risk/reward from the tv networks perspective... why those are not "braggable" but ncs/records are yet look at where the networks put their $ and where they don't... don't align with people who find bragging important are chirping.
You have people who think they're smart and know things probably can't even tell what the financial models these networks are using. Notice how you don't really see bidding wars regarding conferences... why because I bet the models are very similar for all these networks (on the fact they've been doing this for decades, spending $B with bonuses on the line, privy to information non-tv people are not). These people probably can't even calculate what the top line is (revenue?) in these models for various "schools/conferences"
I'm not saying fsu will not get into the sec or b1g, I don't know the financials... however fsu may have to swallow the hard pill of reality. The fans can be "insert pejorative", but the leadership cannot. Like a Bill Burr bit, fsu's leadership failed fsu... not uf, not greg sankey, not the acc. Their were red flags all over the place and it seems the leadership fundamentally do not know what's going on. Fsu is going to spend $100sMM to get out of the acc to go where?
