There is a REAL opportunity for a designer to do a line of dresses that address the issues older women have with their upper arms. Having them covered with a short sleeve length and also a -to the elbow length would make a HUGE difference in presenting an older bride at her most beautiful.
Three quarters length sleeves look good on all brides of any age. Classy. Older women are still young at heart. Don't have to dress old. You are right. They need more/ better dresses for mature ladies and young ladies with oversized bust. Oversized bust do need straps.
Even in my twenties, I didn't like strapless. Everybody wants to dress like a pole dancer or a streetwalker. Why even bother with a wedding dress? Just go to Victoria's Secret and buy some pretty lingerie. Dignity, decorum, and good taste have left the building.
Really great comment, I so agree. Actually, sadly due to a doctor (MD) who said I had Lupus at age 22, which I did not, and then proceeded to overdose me on steroids I have striae or scars on my skin on my arms and elsewhere, so the beautiful "Eve of Milady" dress I tried on at Kleinfeld's when it was in Brooklyn, NY, had sheer, puff sleeves. I re-designed the sleeves to be Cinderella ballgown sleeves and lace on the forearm down to a French cuff (tapers to the ring finger). It looked magnificent with the white, organza, very full skirt and tight, corset top with Basque waist and Swarovski crystals and tiny pearls all over the bodice! I agree that you should find (or make) a dress that works for you. I liked the second dress she had on the best with the veil that covered her arms too!

I would get so annoyed with asking how much it is and them being like I can't tell you. My wedding dress was £120 as it was all I could afford 19 years ago, my wedding was well under a £1,000 as again all we could afford at the time, no meal, buffet and friends and family took pics and gave them to us. It was not what I wanted at the time but it was the right time to do it as my dear mum passed away suddenly 2 months after I was married. It was a thrown together but thank goodness we went ahead with it when we did. 19 years married in January this year.
As an avowed East Coast woman who has lived her entire life in New York and London (England) watching this was as close to culture shock as one might get within one’s own country. It’s an entirely different world (and I happen to live in what’s called the most expensive zip code in New York. The taste, the mind set, the plastic surgery, the bling, the fake everything is just so over the top. The young woman who came with her $99 dress was absolutely beautiful. The gowns were lovely, stunning in fact. Too many over the top personalities. Not that they weren’t nice people for the most part…but why are they all dressed like that in the middle of the day. I don’t understand this hard sell mentality of not divulging a price before you chose your dress. That would never fly in New York. The shoes with rhinestones and feathers and platforms. Chubby ladies in skin tight trousers. Subtlety isn’t a watch word, that’s for sure. But they all seem happy enough and that’s great. This show just confirms that this part of the country is la la land and I could never be a California girl - it’s a lot of too much. Nice people, though, beneath the froufrou.
I have seen a few "Say Yes to the Dress" episodes in New York. I had to stop because the head dress master, I forgot his name, would dress all of the women in tulle, sequins, and feathers. It turned my stomach actually. Is that mostly made up for the show? I am sure most women have better taste than what he was trying to pull off. The reason I ask is because his dresses made these dresses look tame.
it is her job to sell HER merchandise- it isn't a bride club- also up close the first dress may be just fine and the silhouette is lovely but the fabric is lacking up close- this is an expensive community
@@naowright9308 I too am from the East Coast (New Jersey) and of course have NY within an hour and fortunately had my mother's great taste handed down to me! What L. Alexandra wrote I so agree with. Yes, the women did seem nice and supportive of their friend which I really liked, but the focus on appearance, plastic surgery, "Nuevo riche" attitude with money etc. not for me! I think the second dress the woman who is 60 had on was the most beautiful on her and the veil with lace over her arms was more flattering too. I actually got my wedding dress from Kleinfeld's when it was in Brooklyn, NY. So much of the Kleinfeld's TV show today is so over the top and for me so many of the dresses look like Las Vegas showgirls rather than a wedding dress.
??? Why does it matter how old it is. I still get recommendations on YT from things posted ten years ago. Once something is up, you can watch and post on it forever. There are no limitations.

I stumbled upon this show a few days ago. I've watched several episodes not because I like it, but just in disbelief at the toxicity of owner, her florist "friend" and clients. It's kind of like watching a horror movie. You want to watch it and close your eyes all at the same time.
I have never seen a collection of dresses that are all old fashioned, frumpy and over priced. I would never shop at a store like this, trying to push their overpriced merch on brides that confess they have a strict budget.
I love what she said when she said I think the $98 dress should be burned the other dress she put on that she picked look unbelievable I hope she has a wonderful wedding day and a wonderful new life with her fiance she's such a pretty bride.
I couldn't even finish watching this. I don't think I would wear one of their dresses if they gave it to me. Reminds me of the salespeople on Pretty Woman.
Dang! Crystal bags?! I'm in the wrong business! Edit: Okay, the bride that is a comedian is pretty funny at the end. I'm fav'ing this video just for that. lol
I love the show Say Yes To the Dress so I thought that I would give this show a try. Well, to put it mildly, this show is a boring hack from the former. In fact, it bored the ass right off of me.
I used to work in a very high end, expensive boutique in Chicago. When women are used to shopping at a place like that they don’t care about price. And their taste gets warped so you can sell them more bizarre stuff and they don’t blink. They are in competition with other rich, “ ladies who lunch” not normal working people. Whole different world. But these dresses aren’t really expensive. The third one on older woman was $1500. Try watching Kleinfeld in NY. Now those are some beautiful expensive dresses. The dresses at this BH location are cheap and ugly looking.
The third dress the 60 year old bride tried on was perfect: it moved the eye up to her shoulders away from her upper arms which quite definitely show her age, was more age appropriate and the lines were more flattering to her figure. IMO she is far to old for the first 2 dresses and remined me of mutton dressed as lamb. Those 2 dresses are for younger brides. She looks very well for her age but she is still her age.
She is good looking, and has a nice figure and a very pretty face. If I had were her, though, I would want to cover my upper arms. (This is why I keep doing push-ups.)
The mother of the bride with the $95 dress looks so much like the actor Shirley Knight, who played Helen Hunt's mother in "As Good As It Gets". She also has the same sweet way about her.
our daughter chose a blush pink dress, groom had blush pink tie and silver grey vest, and we have a blush pink antique car with lots of silvery chrome that they used for the getaway car!
The young bride looked amazing in the 89 $ dress. I would have never guessed this low price. The other bride should cover her arms, but with covered arms the dresses would look beautiful.
i think she’s beautiful either way and i truly think that. i obviously don’t know you but be careful not to project your own insecurities out on to others like this. especially out loud where little girls could see and feel bad about their arms too💪💪
I don't know what's wrong with that shop. Styles are so dated, even the owner and the consultant. Opinions are weird about age, style, budget. Generally it feels like it jumped out of the late 80s. Not good.
Hope that I'm mistaken but I searched for Rene Strauss salon in Beverly hills and It said no longer open went bankrupt that was in 2019 I wanted to drive to Beverly hills and look for a dress So I'm disappointed ☹️😞
she should've just said "he doesn't want to be on camera" and people wouldn't be so curious to dox the undercover officer. the show should remove that comment. *For his safety*
The $98 dress looked super pretty on her. I’m stunned that she got it at that price
Right! sew that flower back on and call it a day!!!
I would never shop at a store that won’t tell me the price when I ask.
hiding the price is bizarre. what if she can't afford it??
They knew beforehand that the bride could afford it.
Yeah I did t get that I kept wondering if they were planning on lowering the price

I think all these dresses were kept within her price range as they came from the discontinued/ ceased collections.

Amen
I’m born and raised in California, but I still don’t get West LA. It really is about 4 very different states rolled into one.
I love Lily, she’s just so sweet and gorgeous and that dress she picked is just wow on her.
Agree and saw wow to her dress.
Please give me just some of the bucket that those (almost $1,400) shoes can fall into... LOL!
Hi Renee, your comments so good where are you from?
What does this even mean 😂
@@mattschneider9210 wtf? Creepy af
Not sure why everybody is making comments about this show, it is about 700 years old, not current.
I going to say the. This show is not current and it looks like its done around late 2000. Those wedding dress are 🤮 especially in USA Beverley Hills 🤔
Well we're all watching it now aren't we 🤣
??? Why does it matter how old it is. I still get recommendations on YT from things posted ten years ago. Once something is up, you can watch and post on it forever. There are no limitations.
Hi 🙋♂️ Dianne, your comments so good where are you from?
@@mattschneider9210 I am a good Aussie woman who tells it like it is,
Seems aggressive & manipulative to withhold important information about the price, especially when directly asked.
Her reviews are not very good. People say she is extremely rude to customers
I can see that, she makes some really nasty comments on this show.
I think her store closed
@@lc5929 her store was forced closed she was sued by her employees and owed them over 500000 dollars and she didn't pay so the police seized all her merchandise
@@carolynrose4525 omg!!! That is freaking insane!!! 😳
I stumbled upon this show a few days ago. I've watched several episodes not because I like it, but just in disbelief at the toxicity of owner, her florist "friend" and clients. It's kind of like watching a horror movie. You want to watch it and close your eyes all at the same time.
$98 dress suited her better than any of those in the shop. Get out the shop with your dress
The improv at the end 😂 the best part 😅
I thought she was creepy.
Like androgynous or something.
I rewatched twice lmao
@@sme7385 I don't think that was the word you were looking for😂
She is so extra😂
This shop is absolutely horrendous!!!
Some people have a budget and need to know the PRICE of a dress!!!
If they wouldn’t tell me the price I’d vacate!
Ditto. That is not playing fair with the bride or her entourage.
Hi 🙋♂️ Dawn, your comments so good where are you from?

Won’t tell the price....I wonder how many people would stay after that?
I’m 58 and room 222 is way over 50 years ago. So ya that woman looks amazing.
By age 40 you should upgrade to a queen
I was thinking the same thing🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why do so many of these dresses look like Helena Bonham Carter in a Tim Burton film?! 🥴 Give me the dresses of SYTTD Lancashire any day.
Aunty Gok is a miracle worker
Yes!
A horrible channel...!!!! How rude is this owner
If they won't tell the price; I'd go somewhere else

I'd leave fast

The comment in the beginning about her being well.preserved but old was rude as hell
I have never seen a collection of dresses that are all old fashioned, frumpy and over priced. I would never shop at a store like this, trying to push their overpriced merch on brides that confess they have a strict budget.
There is no need to say she was second for three's company. Please, get over it.
Lilly really should be modelling, what an absolutely beautiful face she has.
I love what she said when she said I think the $98 dress should be burned the other dress she put on that she picked look unbelievable I hope she has a wonderful wedding day and a wonderful new life with her fiance she's such a pretty bride.
Lily is my favorite.
I couldn't even finish watching this. I don't think I would wear one of their dresses if they gave it to me. Reminds me of the salespeople on Pretty Woman.
Very Pretty 2nd dress with sleeves & veil.💯%
Ok! The chick with the bridesmaids dresses at the end killed me! She's hilarious 😂! Totally someone I need to have a drink with!
That last dress made the rich lady's arms look worse. She should have gone with dress 2
Those arms need to be covered, please!!!

Are Katherine Baumann bags cheaper versions of Judith Leiber bags???
LOL "I had to step in before someone got hurt". OMG, I laughed so hard!
It was fun watching this video
Love your hair Rene`
As a former Miss America Contestant, how do you win swimsuit, evening gown and talent, and not WIN that crown?!?
Sure you are 😂😂
I said former, so I do know how the scoring works. You are truly a nasty person. I bet that gets you far in life.
Personality
Flunk the interview!
@@oldstuffbethtx8052, You are absolutely right! I thought about that later.
She is not 60, honey. More like 70.
She is good looking, and has a nice figure and a very pretty face. If I had were her, though, I would want to cover my upper arms.
(This is why I keep doing push-ups.)
- I sure disliked the final choice of the more mature woman - not flattering at all!
Those arms needed to be covered up.
I think the second dress would have looked beautiful with a small jacket. She looked pretty beautiful in that one
The shoes cost more than my mortgage. Does that mean I live in a shoebox?
The mother of the bride with the $95 dress looks so much like the actor Shirley Knight, who played Helen Hunt's mother in "As Good As It Gets". She also has the same sweet way about her.
our daughter chose a blush pink dress, groom had blush pink tie and silver grey vest, and we have a blush pink antique car with lots of silvery chrome that they used for the getaway car!
The young bride looked amazing in the 89 $ dress. I would have never guessed this low price.
The other bride should cover her arms, but with covered arms the dresses would look beautiful.
i think she’s beautiful either way and i truly think that. i obviously don’t know you but be careful not to project your own insecurities out on to others like this. especially out loud where little girls could see and feel bad about their arms too💪💪
The $98 dress was GORGEOUS! What a steal 😍
Oh my gosh I loved that comedian girl she had my 😆 LOLING
I don't know what's wrong with that shop. Styles are so dated, even the owner and the consultant. Opinions are weird about age, style, budget. Generally it feels like it jumped out of the late 80s. Not good.
This is a really old show
@@joanneanderson6535 true, yet still not the 80s I think?

The dresses seem kind of trashy compared to the other shows.
I would like to see a reaction-video to this Show by Lori and Monti 😁
Sooo shady! Not letting the customer know the dress price?! Really?
I am in love with this store the shoes are a dream
Hope that I'm mistaken but I searched for Rene Strauss salon in Beverly hills and It said no longer open went bankrupt that was in 2019 I wanted to drive to Beverly hills and look for a dress So I'm disappointed ☹️😞
Debi Obertini, I think you may have dodged a bullet!! 😕😕
Hi 🙋♂️ Debi, your comments so good where are you from?
How Do You Sell Dresses Which You Can't Tell The Price???
She should have a bolero made. Shop at a cheaper store and have a bolero made just for you.
she should've just said "he doesn't want to be on camera" and people wouldn't be so curious to dox the undercover officer. the show should remove that comment. *For his safety*
agree particalarly it would be easy to track his mother as she was present and the bride herself
I completely agree
