I am rescuing a chinchilla later this week. He’s very depressed because no one pays attention to him. When I first met him, he ran up to the door to see me and put his head underneath my hand to let me pet him. He even jumped into my hand! I can only imagine this is a good sign, but I’ve never raised a chinchilla. Does he seem to like me??
Pretty sure my babies like me! I've been playing with them since birth. They don't always like being handled, but they come up to me when they're awake. They let me pet them, too. They always jump on me when I stick my hands in their cage. The only thing I've noticed is that they don't like when i go to take them back in their cage after play time. They scurry around, but they just may not want to go back to their cage. My female chinchilla was rescued. I'm pretty sure she was abused. She was only 100 dollars, and she even came with a cage. It's to small, so I'm saving up to buy her a nice cage. She ended up being pregnant as well. Poor girl doesn't really like anyone... she's getting better though, just taking it slow with her. I'm not handling her much, but I let her sniff around and possibly jump on me during play time.
My chinchilla will bark at anyone that tries to pick him up in his cage he’s like *you wanna pick me up nah do that outside you gotta wait til i wanna come out*
Everytime I stand up or get ready for school he will jump around the cage and just stare at me. He also will jump on my back and just sit there even if I need to go to school. I've been late 4 times to school because he wouldn't get back in his cage or he wouldn't get off my back xD.
@@ezrathomas4201 he actually has before🤣 If I let him run around and leave my Homework on the floor, he will come up and run away with it and start eating it🤣 I've had to explain multiple times to my teachers (before my highschool was shut down due to covid-19) why there were tiny little bite marks all over the edges of my papers.

This is the third day as a chinchilla owner and if i hold my hands forward they almost always come up to it and now they have started to sit on it, one of them even jump from one place of the cage to my hand today just to get to sit in my hand. They have even started to climb up my arms to get closer to my face. I love them so much already and i hope they love me back. 😍
I sit on the floor when I open my chilla’s cage doors and he always immediately runs in between my legs lol it’s the cutest, sweetest thing 😭 My other chinchilla should passed away a few months ago would sleep under legs when I’d sit on the floor during playtime ❤️
Also if you have a newer chin or a breeder chin, and they constantly hide during playtime, they may not be scared of you but bc they are prey animals. Prey animals in new or large spaces will be feel fear and hide automatically
I've only had mine about 5 weeks. Hell sit with me for a few min then get ancy. He runs around me during playtime but not on me? Patricia Jones Sounds like a typical chin when you first get them. I think he likes you but he’s maybe just a little more independent. As long as he’s not outright being aggressive and hostile towards you😊

No. It's like owning a fluffy kangaroo-mouse with the mind of a squirrel. And they don't eat super dense nutritious stuff so don't feed her fruits or she'll get sick with diarrhea. Dry brown poop is healthy and happy poop.
There you go again, another perfect video! So its pretty obvious i'm getting a chinchilla. I want a female, is that a good choice? I also am going to name her "Nora". I have a dog, he has mental issues, he hates everyone an animal besides my family. He loves to be in my room, and all his stuff is in our laundry room. I would keep her in there but I don't know how both of them would do. My house is not 70 Degrees or under, I went to petsmart (i got to pet a chi chi) and they said something about a chilling pad, does that fix my problem???? - Your Biggest fan
Ella Plumlee ii don’t know much about bonding chinchillas with other animals but I’d recommend you be careful and slow when introducing your dog to your chinnie because you don’t want to stress her out right when she comes home. Also, a chilling pad unfortunately won’t do well. It might help but the overall atmosphere should be a cool temperature for them. I’m excited for you to get a chinnie and ii think the name Nora is lovely!:)
I really need help. Just recently got a chinchilla about half a week ago and he's not scared of me, he'll come up to me and crawl on me just doesn't like when i go out of my way to touch him. He doesn't let me hold him and will bite me if i try. I cleaned up my room and covered any spaces he could get into and make sure he couldn't eat anything bad for him, and let him run around for a bit. I clean his cage everyday. But he's like, aggressively trying to get out of his cage. He jumps on his food bowl and shakes it until it falls out and spills everywhere and just ughh i don't know. Right now he has a wooden toy, a dust bath, a wooden hideout, hay, food pellets, and a two story cage with leges and a pee bowl and and stuff. Right now he has so many toys and hammocks shipping they're coming in in a few days. Including ledges and stuff and everything he needs. I just don't understand why he's being so like, crazy. I know it's only been a few days but this is my first chinchilla and i've been doing so much research but i'm just concerned.
In my experience each chinchilla has their own way of doing things I feel like you can tell if they love you just by their vibe I have a girl 12 years old that runs and hides the first time you open the cage but the second or third she will step up onto your hands and just loves to be by people. Loves chin scritches I have a boy 8 years old that barks when you put your hand in the cage but never bites but will step up onto your hand and sit on your shoulder for hours. Loves chin scritches (he was a rescue) I have two girls 7 and 8 not a big fan of chin scitches but love butt rubs and if you lean on the cage they will make a point to run up and cuddle next to your face. Every time you enter the room they come over for attention. All of them are very sweet in their own way and have things that they like and don't like, it can take months or years for them to really trust you or they can click right away.
I had a question about how you travel with your chin? I've been doing research and have been wanting to get a chinchilla/chinchillas as a pet for a few years now. I tend to travel to my parents home for short periods for holidays. I know you have a two tiered home for Merlin but I was wondering if you travel with it or if Merlin has a separate travel cage? One that he stays in while hes away from home? Sorry for the long post 😅
Not sure if you're still looking for an answer several months on, but chinchillas don't travel well. They are very temperature and noise sensitive, so a few hours in a car with good air conditioning is typically as much as they can handle. For this reason, a travel cage wouldn't be necessary; a cat-size aviation carrier would be suitable, the same that you would use to take them to the vet (get something sturdy they can't chew through, with a secure lock and no bars they can hook their legs on!). Travelling on public transport with them is often very stressful as the carrier will be lifted and knocked around and the loud noises and constantly changing surroundings may scare them. I hate doing it and don't recommend it! Lastly, I've heard of people who fly with their chinchillas. I would personally never do this as chinchillas are extremely delicate and sensitive and I would fear for their safety. I hope this helps! (and I also implore you to get two, if you do. It's a divisive issue among chinchilla owners, but I consider it very cruel to house them alone).
@@omnipotenttit3240 thank you for the response!! I adopted one a few weeks ago (my lucy) from a family. And shes doesnt seem to the cat carrier and likes to run into during free time. Shes been alone for about a year and ide like to eventually get another as a friend for her in the future :) thank you for the information. I'll take whatever I can get lol.
I feel that since my chin is new, she is kind of neutral. She doesn’t attack my hand like at all, but she does climb on me and sometimes let me pet her, but she will hide from me quote on quote, but really she just like hides under my desk because she just doesn’t like feel like being cuddly. She will sometimes let me hold her but it’s really rare.
My chinchilla greets me every time I open her cage! She comes up to me and the cage door, one time when I left her after petting her she barked at me for leaving!
I have two chins, Chico and Charlie. Chico is very sweet, loves to get pet, and is not scared of anyone. But Charlie will greet you but every time you try to pet him or hold your hand out, he will bite and the smallest movement will scare him. I have tried numerous methods but none of them did anything. He always come to the edge of the cage ( like he is not scared of me) but goes crazy every time I come near him. What should I do? P.S I just started my own chinchilla TH-cam channel.
Chico and Charlie Well it doesn’t sound like he does anything unnatural or weird. As long as he’s still mostly friendly and isn’t attacking you or showing signs of aggression, the situation doesn’t sound too bad. It might just take some time to get him fully comfortable and used to you. And if Chico is being friendly with you it might encourage Charlie to do the same. Also, LOVE the name Charlie! I think that’s what I would name a chinchilla if I ever got another male one. :)
Great video! Gracie (my 14 year old chin) is the sweetest old girl ever, she's always greeting me when I walk in the room, loves her chin and behind her ears to be scratched and always climbs on me during playtime. With my new girls only one tolerates me, she enjoys sitting on my shoulder and being pet and also makes these cute little squeaking noises. But her sister wants nothing to do with me, she barks at me and sprays urine lol. Like you said it all depends on the personality of your chin
I manage to find time throughout my day with school, after school activities, and spending time with my family and also personal time. Merlin stays in his cage until I let him out every evening. The thing is, if people want chinchillas, they need to make sure they can find and make the time for them. Somedays it's true that I give less time to him because of something that I need to do but I try to have a good balance the majority of the time. :)
I’m not sure if this account is active but my schools chinchillas (I look after them) are knew and they don’t mind me cleaning the cage out or anything but if I stand near the cage for a while or put the brush while I’m cleaning them out a bit too close to them the male spits but only once.
Yaaay Chili shows all the signs he likes me, he usually does come to greet me but I was worried it was just because he wanted treats and not cause he liked me XD also sometimes out of nowhere he will just start running around in his cage like he does when I tap on his dust bath (he knows the sound of it and gets super excited when I tap on it cause he knows he gonna get a bath) and when he hears bags crinkle cause he thinks he's gonna get a treat, but there r times when I'm just sitting and talking to him n he goes nuts jumping back n forth on his platforms and he does the little popcorn hop/twitch
For the attacking your hand part, does just nibbling a little count as them hating you..? Because when i reach into the cage he nibbles my hand a lot, and idk if thats a bad thing...
Epic Kingdom Girl No, Merlin does that too sometimes. I find it’s either because there’s some interesting smell on my hand like food or lotion, or he’s just bored. Unless there’s other signs of aggression I think it’s normal😉
I live in England and my house doesn’t have any air conditioning, we were told to either buy a marble slab to cool them or a cool mat- will it work?We also have child of 4 years old, if we get a baby chinchilla what should we do because she can be quite loud but we can stop her from going into a room so if we put the cage in that room will that solve the problem
Alexandra Nemodruk If you don’t have an Air Conditioning unit, I don’t think a chinchilla is the right pet for you. You can do all sorts of things to try and help them stay cool but ultimately you need AC. It’s just not going to be safe or work any other way because they are highly sensitive to too much heat. You can look into getting other rodents, too. Maybe one that doesn’t need such a cool environment and one that can be played with gently by children, because unfortunately a chinchilla is not it💕💕
I am getting chinchillas from someone who no longer wants them but i have found out all they have been eating for the past 2 years is honey bunches of oats which brings the question how do i fix their diet since that is not what they need at all.
Jaelynn Anderson Um, that sounds absolutely horrendous! Please bring them to the vet first and explain the situation and ask for how to alter their feeding in a healthy way. Wow, by far that is the worst thing ii think I’ve ever heard people do to Chinchillas. I’m glad you’re adopting them, though, but please go to a vet:)
Just got my chinchilla on Friday at a pet store. I named him Kion and we have been doing very well. He’s actually very nice but the thing is.. I sorta messed up when getting him. When I got him, I put him straight in the bathroom because his cage (it’s the same as yours actually) wasn’t ready yet. He was actually very terrified and kept chewing on my walls. Now that he’s in his cage and I have had him for 2 Days, he’s starting to slowly warm up and open up to me. He nibbles sometimes on my fingers sometimes it’s a hard bite, sometimes it’s a just a little nibble. And Everytime I reach in his cage he climbs onto my arm. I just want you to know though, that your channel is really helping me so thank you! Sorry I’m literally all over the place, it was a long night trying to catch Kion cause he jumped out of his cage. Anyway, thank you!
When a chinchilla is anti social and bites like crazy; wear gloves and hold them for a long time, lay them on their back and pet their snout. Works GREAT!
Flamed-Wolf Animations I put a good two inches to cover the bottom of the container and let him roll around in that. It makes it more fun for him to dig into plus he gets a better dust bath. :) Also, I have upgraded to a much bigger container since I filmed his video. :)
We have 4 chinchilla’s (3 are technically not mine but my mum’s ) and the two older ones can be pretty moody the oldest Mario is a very sweet but shy little guy.. he is a barker and he also kinda bites we got him and another (chloe) from a rescue shelter and they are a bit older but we have no clue what their life might have been like especially seeing as mario is so afraid then Chloe has her moments but she seems to be afraid of hands.. if you put your face near her she will sniff and ask attention but when i show my hands she will chatter her teeth rear up and if you keep going will projectile piss on you.. then we have little Daisy whom is our 2nd chinchilla (our first died of old age but she was the most sweet thing ever as she would literally fall asleep in your arms) now daisy also falls asleep near you alot and it’s no issue getting her out of the cage as she will come to the side to say hello and if you call her she will come over then the next step is to hold out your hands so she can step on them and say come daisy and she will hop onto your hands before enjoying cuddles.. finally there is snow white whom we still need a friend for as she can’t be with the others (she was attacked by her own mom back at the breeder she came from wich is why she is now deathly afraid of other chins.. but she is completely fine with humans) she absolutely adores treats and will beg for more raisins or cranberries (relying on what we give her at the time) she LOVES the.. where as Chloe is the complete opposite and hates sweets 😂
😞I just got mines yesterday and I think he doesn’t like me he pushes my hand away and then goes to bite me I don’t get scared or upset when he bites me but it makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong I leave him alone and give him his space I let him take his bath whenever he choose to since every time I put it up he finds it I give him apple wood sticks and he still does this to me
I got my chinchillas two days ago and they always greet me when they aren’t sleeping but also since they are babies and they are in a new place they are still trying to learn about me and their new surroundings so when I go to like try and pet them they run away but they don’t make any noise xD so it’s like they trust me but they don’t trust me they also try to escape from my arm when I open the cage xD
Yayy my chin likes me. Something funny, he came up to me this morning & he decided to nibble on my finger lol not sure if that’s a kiss or a go away? It didn’t hurt but it was cute and gentle so I think it was a kiss. He’s such a goofball.
Hi i got a chinchilla yesterday and I'm very excited his name is momo and he is a baby he loves lettuce if its healthy for him to eat a little bit of lettuce every 2 hours or more?
Kk Its Playgirl No, because it’s not good for his digestive system. I know he may like it, but maybe try to find some other healthy treats he can have that won’t be harmful. :)
Mine will hope under my dresser but she is mostly happy and runningand I let her out at day time so I think she's sleeping then So thanks I think she likes a little I am still working with her on the hopping on me but she takes her sticks from me (the ones that they CAN have) and treats she hops on my hand dome times and she's super sweet and lets me pet her
I have a chinne & he’s named Cheeto! Yeah he sometimes barks (kind of rarely) at me but luckily it just means they are annoyed at that moment! He actually softley bit me one time when I had to pick him up to put him back in his cage? Is that normal for a short of new chinchilla? Haha thx for the amaz bomb video!🤯✨ (but he always jumps on me & popcorns! (I think that’s what it’s called😂))
Aysia Jay Oh, if it’s occasional biting and barks it’s totally normal and it more than likely doesn’t mean they don’t like you:) Merlin does that too sometimes. :)
I still think my way of guilt tripping them after they bite you and just letting the blood seap from your finger so they can look at what they've done, is the best way ever.
I don’t think my chinchilla likes me that much. Do u have any suggestions to make a stronger bond? Also- he doesn’t bark at me- but he squeals sometimes. I really want this chinchilla to like me. And, well- your the EXPERT!
Mines half and half . She runs away when I try to pet her and she doesn’t like when I pet her but she does come up to me in the cage and she will climb all over me in play time , and she does not bark and run away it’s half and half
Som when I put my hand in the cage my chinchilla comes over to it, sniffs it, then nibbles on the ends. Is that bad or is it just because she thinks my hand is food since sometimes I hand feed her
I just got my little girl rocksy she is 6 month she is very friendly n so cute n adorable I showed her how to throw the ball I throw it to her n she throws it back to me I give kisses and I ask her to give me kisses back and she gives kisses back I love her so much
My chinie Aki loves to go under my bed and chew on things, thats Her favorite place to play, and she Can stick there for hours and not get bored lol. But she likes me,she jumps in my Lap and then to my sholder,so ye,even tho that she likes to spend most of Her time under my bed during play time she still loves me,so i guess its not a good indicator wheather she likes you or not just cuz she likes to get stuck somewhere,i guess its in their nature to get stuck in tight places and discover their "habitat":D Cuz if you moved this cardboard,im sure she would go and stick there for a Long time exploring it haha
Alright, when my chinchilla that I literally just got a month ago named Chi chi hides sometimes and comes up to the cage when I open it... does that mean he likes me or not? I know he does because I go up to the cage and he jumps up on it. He also comes near me too. I don't let him play just yet because he went under the couch twice the day we got him. I will let him go on his door when I open it. He's really cute and sweet and he loves my family and me. But he doesn't make noises. Is it also normal for him to flip his food over? I believe he doesn't like it. If he does that, does it mean he doesn't like the main thing food or does he just straight up explore too much or hate me? But, you just earned a sub and I followed you on insta: winterwoflieintheville. ❤
Itz Lily I’ll be sure to follow you back! It sound alike everything is normal and he likes you just fine. I don’t think there’s anything unusual or something you should worry about 😊
Don't recoil. Let him bite your finger until it bleeds. Then just let that one marinate. Fastest way to stop them from biting you is by guilt tripping them. Kid you not, that's how I got Cheerios to never bite me again. She sniffed my finger because she felt so bad.
Can you help me please? You said that the chinchilla was angry at you at first, how did you change that? I just have a problem with my chichi because my sister took and touched him before in the first few days, so now he is angry at everybody... ☹️
Well, Merlin acted like that because he was very territorial and he wouldn't want me touching him or even putting my hands inside his cage. He would jump onto my hand and bite and scratch me as hard as he could and for a couple months he just kept up that kind of behaviour. I even made him a little pillow about his size (kinda like the stuffed chin buddy) and he would attack that too. What I did was I stopped trying to interact with him at all. I would block him off in the other half of the cage while I cleaned one and I would not give him attention or pet him or get my hand anywhere near. Now, since Merlin is quite a social chinchilla, he soon started wanting my attention and after a week of me giving him the "cold shoulder" he started yipping and always trying to get my attention and so since then I've had no problems with that anymore. Sometimes if I bother him when he's trying to nap he'll bark at me but he no longer attacks me like he used to. Now, I'm not saying this method will work with every chinchilla. If your chin is wary and timid, it might not be a good idea because you don't want to push that chinnie out completely or they might not ever want to bond with you again. Also, unless for a special reason, try to keep your chinchilla with a partner. Hope this helped! :)
I need help! How can I tell if my chin Hercules is stressed or if anything’s wrong. Sometimes he’s just moody or he’ll suddenly get scared of me. I’ve had him for 3 months and he usually shows all these signs that he’s happy
Green_ Blue That sounds totally normal, don’t worry about it! Merlin will sometimes not want me to touch him when he’s sleepy or he’ll get startled and hide for a while because he’s just not in the mood:)

:) Thanks you! Keep up the great work, hope your wrist gets better!
Your dog has mental issues? My dog hates everyone in the world except me, lol. She's fine though; just kinda grumpy.
So does my dog Max lol
Trillian and Me oh no...
Awesome video 💗💗 Merlin is so cute !!
Carlee Rose Thank you so much!:)
In my experience each chinchilla has their own way of doing things I feel like you can tell if they love you just by their vibe
I have a girl 12 years old that runs and hides the first time you open the cage but the second or third she will step up onto your hands and just loves to be by people. Loves chin scritches
I have a boy 8 years old that barks when you put your hand in the cage but never bites but will step up onto your hand and sit on your shoulder for hours. Loves chin scritches (he was a rescue)
I have two girls 7 and 8 not a big fan of chin scitches but love butt rubs and if you lean on the cage they will make a point to run up and cuddle next to your face. Every time you enter the room they come over for attention.
All of them are very sweet in their own way and have things that they like and don't like, it can take months or years for them to really trust you or they can click right away.
Christian Berg Very true. They’re all different💕
me and my family are new to chinchillas and we fallow your advise and are chinchilla is doing better and better
Chase Looms Yes, that sounds quite normal. And she’s also new, so that’s really good. :)
I hope you feel better soon. I used to do gymnastics in hs.
Great video and explanation! Totally agree with every word
what do the demon noises I keep on hearing in the middle of the night mean?
Great video! Gracie (my 14 year old chin) is the sweetest old girl ever, she's always greeting me when I walk in the room, loves her chin and behind her ears to be scratched and always climbs on me during playtime. With my new girls only one tolerates me, she enjoys sitting on my shoulder and being pet and also makes these cute little squeaking noises. But her sister wants nothing to do with me, she barks at me and sprays urine lol. Like you said it all depends on the personality of your chin
Kailey's Pet Care Yes, it does. Gracie sounds like the sweetest little thing ever!;)
How do you balance school or work with a chinchilla? and how long do you live your chinchilla in a cage when you at school or work?
I manage to find time throughout my day with school, after school activities, and spending time with my family and also personal time. Merlin stays in his cage until I let him out every evening. The thing is, if people want chinchillas, they need to make sure they can find and make the time for them. Somedays it's true that I give less time to him because of something that I need to do but I try to have a good balance the majority of the time. :)
I️ hope your wrist gets better soon! Great vid, btw!
Windy Sky Thank you, me too!:)
My chin is like a parrot he goes on my shoulder and it’s brilliant
FortniteCleanUpCrew Aww, that must be so cute!😊
about attacking hands? is bitting nails attacking? or bit not bit but nipping my fingers is that a bad sign?
What a fierce beast!
Thanks i needed this!
Maybe one that doesn’t need such a cool environment and one that can be played with gently by children, because unfortunately a chinchilla is not it💕💕
@@TheChinchillaNotebook they're sensitive to heat bc their fur is so thicc?
Vanessa Walsh Yes and they cannot sweat, so they have no way to cool their bodies down like humans do💕
@@TheChinchillaNotebook Nooooo they can't sweat! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
My chino barks at me when I pick her up and she greets me alot
Panic! At the twenty one banana breads :3 Yeah I understand the stress and sometimes things like that just happen but I’m sure he’ll be alright.:)
Is your chinchilla alone? As in no cagemate?
Your friendly neighbourhood Nazi I might just do a video on that because a lot of people ask me and Merlin lives alone for a special reason. :)
When a chinchilla is anti social and bites like crazy; wear gloves and hold them for a long time, lay them on their back and pet their snout. Works GREAT!
Huh. I just kinda let my bloody finger sit and marinate. She came up and sniffed it because she was guilty and she never bit me again.
I’m really happy that my chinchilla likes me!!!
About how much dust do u give them each time? (Not when you give them the dust)
Flamed-Wolf Animations I put a good two inches to cover the bottom of the container and let him roll around in that. It makes it more fun for him to dig into plus he gets a better dust bath. :) Also, I have upgraded to a much bigger container since I filmed his video. :)
The Chinchilla Notebook ok, thanks :) I just always questioned that
We have 4 chinchilla’s (3 are technically not mine but my mum’s ) and the two older ones can be pretty moody the oldest Mario is a very sweet but shy little guy.. he is a barker and he also kinda bites we got him and another (chloe) from a rescue shelter and they are a bit older but we have no clue what their life might have been like especially seeing as mario is so afraid then Chloe has her moments but she seems to be afraid of hands.. if you put your face near her she will sniff and ask attention but when i show my hands she will chatter her teeth rear up and if you keep going will projectile piss on you.. then we have little Daisy whom is our 2nd chinchilla (our first died of old age but she was the most sweet thing ever as she would literally fall asleep in your arms) now daisy also falls asleep near you alot and it’s no issue getting her out of the cage as she will come to the side to say hello and if you call her she will come over then the next step is to hold out your hands so she can step on them and say come daisy and she will hop onto your hands before enjoying cuddles.. finally there is snow white whom we still need a friend for as she can’t be with the others (she was attacked by her own mom back at the breeder she came from wich is why she is now deathly afraid of other chins.. but she is completely fine with humans) she absolutely adores treats and will beg for more raisins or cranberries (relying on what we give her at the time) she LOVES the.. where as Chloe is the complete opposite and hates sweets 😂
My chinchilla hides if I try and put him back in his cage is that normal?
Always good videos!🙂
How do you pick him up to put him back in his home?
Cloud1575 I usually lure him into his dust bath and transport him that way💕
When myChinchilla nodded means yes
😞I just got mines yesterday and I think he doesn’t like me he pushes my hand away and then goes to bite me I don’t get scared or upset when he bites me but it makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong I leave him alone and give him his space I let him take his bath whenever he choose to since every time I put it up he finds it I give him apple wood sticks and he still does this to me
Mine does all of the do’s and and of the don’ts except for a couple on each side.
my chinchilla watches me sleep
I got my chinchillas two days ago and they always greet me when they aren’t sleeping but also since they are babies and they are in a new place they are still trying to learn about me and their new surroundings so when I go to like try and pet them they run away but they don’t make any noise xD so it’s like they trust me but they don’t trust me they also try to escape from my arm when I open the cage xD
Rofl when I read the title I immediately thought no my chinchillas don't like me at all 😂😂😂😂
Yayy my chin likes me. Something funny, he came up to me this morning & he decided to nibble on my finger lol not sure if that’s a kiss or a go away? It didn’t hurt but it was cute and gentle so I think it was a kiss. He’s such a goofball.
Yay my chinchilla likes me she love me she put her paws on me and bites my shirt 😂 she climbs over me during playtime
If your chilla makes angry squeaks, it means they don't like what your doing to them. Don't do that behavior.
This made me feel so much better cus I wasn’t sure how my chinchilla felt about me but everything u said for if they like you he does!
Queen of Horror That's great!
My chinchilla grooms my eyelashes in my sleep lol
Hi i got a chinchilla yesterday and I'm very excited his name is momo and he is a baby he loves lettuce if its healthy for him to eat a little bit of lettuce every 2 hours or more?
Kk Its Playgirl No, because it’s not good for his digestive system. I know he may like it, but maybe try to find some other healthy treats he can have that won’t be harmful. :)
Hey I have a question, is your chinchilla a girl or a boy?
one of my chincillas like me so much she always lays in my hoodie for hours but the other one always attacks me when i try to pet her :((
Mine will hope under my dresser but she is mostly happy and runningand I let her out at day time so I think she's sleeping then So thanks I think she likes a little I am still working with her on the hopping on me but she takes her sticks from me (the ones that they CAN have) and treats she hops on my hand dome times and she's super sweet and lets me pet her
I have a chinne & he’s named Cheeto!
Never bit me ever again. Let that sit and marinate.
Baily my chinchilla loves to sit on my shoulder and I have only had her for 3 weeks I’m so happy
Morrowtyler447 my chinchilla is named bailey too.
My 3 month old chinchilla likes me i think she is white and her name is Angel and my next chinchillas name is going to be saturn or moon or star
I don’t think my chinchilla likes me that much. Do u have any suggestions to make a stronger bond?
Also- he doesn’t bark at me- but he squeals sometimes. I really want this chinchilla to like me. And, well- your the EXPERT!
Stella Kitty Does he always run away and never let you touch him? Like does he seem aggressive towards you?
You really wanted your chinchilla to like you, but couldnt even answer back when you actually got a response?
what do you do if your chinchilla doesn’t like you?
Mines half and half . She runs away when I try to pet her and she doesn’t like when I pet her but she does come up to me in the cage and she will climb all over me in play time , and she does not bark and run away it’s half and half
It depends on the chin, Merlin will sometimes bark for no reason or refuse to be touched, it just depends on their mood:)
Aww thanks for telling me and thanks for the video!
How do you know if yo chinchall needs a bath
Their fur gets dull and greasy looking. Give them a bath about twice a week💕
This is SUPER HELPFUL I just got a chinchilla
Merlin is such a cute name! Mine is Cheesecake😄
My boy will lick my nose and loves to have his chin and chest scratched. So I think he likes me.
Som when I put my hand in the cage my chinchilla comes over to it, sniffs it, then nibbles on the ends. Is that bad or is it just because she thinks my hand is food since sometimes I hand feed her
ThatOneKawaiiPotato :3 She may just be curious 😊
Mine once bit me, he’s my pet. But he goes to my Sister! ;-; I’m the one who got him! He hates meee and loves my sister! NOOOO!
*G I V E H I M O A T S*
@@elile8games611 YeEEeESssss
what if my chin sat on me during play time and stayed still kist peeing ?🤣 he did it once thankfully
I don’t think there’s anything unusual or something you should worry about 😊
The Chinchilla Notebook Thank you!!!!!
My chinchillas name is Chi chi too!!! 💓
Aww my chin likes me! 💕💕
I got my chinchilla yesterday and I was going to feed him and he growled and charged at my hand
Gwen wizza oh nooo :(
Don't recoil. Let him bite your finger until it bleeds. Then just let that one marinate. Fastest way to stop them from biting you is by guilt tripping them. Kid you not, that's how I got Cheerios to never bite me again. She sniffed my finger because she felt so bad.
@@WarPigstheHun I tried that. My chinchilla sniffed my bloody finger and just bit my other finger 😂 He has gotten better though. He is food motivated
My chinchilla climbed over my feet while watching this XD
This video doesn't work on my phone
Get a new phone, works here
I really wanna be friend with my chinchila but i have dog mum dad so i dont think so that they will love
Mine love me, they just hate being touched.
are two chinchillas better than one
Kaylea Poplin Yeah, they are herd animals and should live in pairs because they are happier that way😊
My chinchilla does it all the time
Awwwww C: C: C:
Wut is your username
My chinchilla doesn’t even let me touch him long about tickling him under the chin and stuff 😂
Try putting your nose in his cage. That's how I gained my chinchillas trust, they communicate by their nose and whiskers
When I let my chinchilla outside of his cage he'll run away if I touch him 💀mainly because he thinks I'll put him back in his cage.
My chinchilla was like that until I started bring him into a smaller area and just sitting there and eventually he started jumping on me
Wonderful job... Thanks lots. :D
Do you only got one??
I need help! How can I tell if my chin Hercules is stressed or if anything’s wrong. Sometimes he’s just moody or he’ll suddenly get scared of me. I’ve had him for 3 months and he usually shows all these signs that he’s happy
Green_ Blue That sounds totally normal, don’t worry about it! Merlin will sometimes not want me to touch him when he’s sleepy or he’ll get startled and hide for a while because he’s just not in the mood:)
