Everyone dislikes this design, but this is my favourite mclaren in terms of looks. Also seems like i am only one who thinks that front kinda looks like f430
looks better in person, the headlight design just looks odd on photos and video. Same with the side intake look like the Senna's which was a track purposeful car this is a GT and should be more sensual

I love this car. I currently own a 2023 992.1S. I have got a bad back from that so I don’t think I could get in and out of the McLaren without crippling me.
After seeing the 720 S, all McLarens look a bit like "something's missing" to me when it comes to their styling. This one has: - a front that is too tall - a side with a "not discreet enough" air intake, which makes for a less fluid transition from front to back - a rear that is at the right height...but still seems a bit too tall because of the side. I personally still prefer the 911 (Turbo/Turbo S) or a Bentley Continental GT as a GT
What I don’t like is that the head lights are positioned too high and the front is also too high. It looks like the rear is more down than the front. It has to do with the front line that is not in one line with the line on the doors. That destroys the whole proportions and the whole car. I would buy a Ferrari instead.
The reason for this is the same reason the C8 Corvette has its high position headlights: better visibility. It might be mid-engine, but it’s designed to be a GT. I’m not even passing it off as marketing; it all seems 100% intentional

It’s the same reason why most economy cars and even most GT cars/everyday sports cars (Aston Martin DB12, Bentley Continental GT, Rolls-Royce Wraith, Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche 911, Aston Martin Vantage, Chevrolet Corvette, etc) have their headlights positioned above the wheels: better road illumination at night. For high performance supercars, such visibility is not as much of a priority, so they can afford to position the headlights lower and go for a more dramatic look. Just the perspective of a high schooler studying engineering (and one who did a NASA project regarding lunar scooter wheels)
Not sure about the 2021 GT, but I'm 6.45 and sat in the 570s, 570GT and 570Spyder and it was extremely tight on the legs (on each side) for all cars. Head room was good in all 3.

As a 570GT owner I love the performance of this “upgrade” but the looks don’t work. Looks too much like a C8 to me. No drama. Too bland. Did the same price you can buy a 570GT and a Bentley GT. That’s what I did.

The point is for this to be a GT car Edit 2: okay, so I do see why ppl are referring to this as a supercar, but McLaren makes it clear in the marketing that this is designed to be a GT with the spirit of a supercar, and that this isn’t supposed to be a traditional GT

The manual says there's a glove box but the people at the dealership and I couldn't figure out how to open it even if there was one.

This car is so awkward it’s advertised as a Gt car but doesn’t have the comfort , the styling is generic but still beautiful and subtle.. I’m on the fence about this car but I would EASILY choose an Aston Martin over this every time.
POS car... i've owned one of these for 9 months. 5th time at dealer for multiple issues. brakes squeal, hatch rattle, dash board leather shrink, keyfob stopped working even with new battery, car just went limp with Engine system fault.... do you really want a $250K vehicle that spends more time at dealer than at home with you? DO NOT BUY MCLAREN... BEAWARE. i really believe that anyone who says these are good cars is paid for by McLaren to say that.
On 24 months of my 600lt with no issues. My neighbor has a GT, sounds like you should have lemon’d yours. Actually it sounds like you do not have a McLaren.
I hadn't seen the GT before, and when I saw the thumbnail... I thought it looked too safe. All the lines looked like they were designed by Volkswagen, which isn't bad, but not what you want from a supercar. Not at all acceptable for a supercar...

The front needs to be reworked but the side is really nice and the rear is just awesome. It's not flashy but I think it's how a GT should be.

The only other mid-engine GT car was the Ferrari Testarossa. Ferrari reverted to front engine after the 512M/TR.
