The chest bleeding imagery in "Pienso En Tu Mirá" mimics the lyrics: "Pienso en tu mirá clavá, es una bala en el pecho" which roughly means "I think about your sharp gaze, it's a bullet in the chest." Love her visuals.
Woooow never expected this from you, but as soon as I seen the notification I clicked to watch it. Rosalia is such a great artist, I'm glad she's getting the recognition she deserves :'3
@@bennshouts At least you have a good reason to make an other Rosalía reaction video with music videos like A palé (my personal fave), Aute cuture, Con altura (feat. J Balvin and El Guincho, the producer of the El mal querer album), Barefoot In The Park (with James Blake), Aunque es de noche, La fama (feat. The Weeknd), TKN (with Travis Scott), Linda (with Tokischa) and many more... I'd really love to see your reaction to her more mainstream stuff, too. You'll be amazed how versatile she is.
Malamente's music video, in my opinion, concept is about Rosalía running away from the "Hunter" (as the guy is credited in the video itself). She gets hit, dies and is brought back to life as a machine/bull to figh back with other Hunter, but this time she's gained so much confidence and power. A criticism on toxic masculinity too, just like Pienso En Tu Mirá. PETM is about the imprisonment she's going through, you can see how she goes through a door that goes back to the same room. Blood in the chest, as the lyrics say, her husband's look is as sharp as a bullet in the chest. Those two videos were filmed back to back, and they kinda follow the same aesthetic. Rosalía grew up surrounded with truck, containers, a very much industrial side of her town. She wanted to bring that into her art. In Bagdad she's drowning in her own tears, heartbroken. Her little dress is a reference to Britney's outfit in Oops I did It Again, tied to the JT sample hehe. Di Mi Nombre is actually a long take, and I think two more cuts if I'm not mistaken. De Aquí No Sales (which you missed sadly) tells the story of the fight between Rosalía and her captor. In the visuals she's drowning in oil, while the man is walking up the hill lit on fire. He goes into the building and the conflict explodes. She comes out of it now as a different woman, powerful and ready to go, surrounded by her sisters. I'm glad you enjoyed them and thanks for the s/o hehe💚💚💚💚💚💚
As far as I know, Bagdad is a strip club very popular in Barcelona, and the song is about Rosalia trying to survive on her one now that she is no longer in that toxic relationship, but realizing life is more difficult than what she thought. Drowning in her one tears could mean that she is struggling to move forward on her own
It's true, but there is a bit of nuance to it. Rosalía is from Spain and the equivalent word in Spanish ("gitano") is not considered a slur in itself, in fact is used with pride by the Spanish Romani community. The endonym "calé" is an alternative but it's not widely used. I think the problem was that he was referencing what was written by Spanish-language followers who maybe didn't know the implications of the word in English and translated it literally. I'm Spanish-Canadian btw (although I live in Germany, lol).
Yeah, my mistake! Hehe, I took the literal translation of the word. I'm not from Spain, I'm mexican and that's the word I relate to the word gitano by default. Of course, "romani woman" would be a better word to use.
Please react to How Long by Tove Lo. Her new song for the Euphoria soundtrack. And then to her albums “Sunshine Kitty (Paw Prints Edition)” and “Queen of the Clouds (Blueprint Edition)”!!!!
Great reaction! would love if you took the time to check out 'men i trust' their garage session is amazing!! as well as AURORAs live stuff, its so much more impactful
I so need you to react to 'Roisin Machine' by Roisin Murphy. Best album of 2020, full on Bjork- like disco. No one has really done a video reaction and it's so disappointing because it's such a masterpiece!
I was expecting Cap 4: De Aqui no sales, because its the most experimental song in the album and the video is extraordinary
I missed it somehow 😞😞😞
It is also Rosalia’s favourite… you have to check it out.
You missed the "De Aquí no Sales" video. It is so good!
I know 😭😭😭😭😭
