So vampires are a dime a dozen, but if you want to spice it up, non-western cultures have good variations on them, like the Japanese Rokurokubi or the Filipino Manananggal (I think no one's made a video of that last one yet). Something that's been gaining popularity in recent years is the Dullahan, a fae or spirit that holds its detached head in one hand and a weapon in the other, and is often affiliated to something of a grim reaper. It's a really interesting mythological entity, and one of my own favorites. For aquatic monsters, merfolks are the obvious choices, with sometimes variations like octofolk and jellyfish people, but something really rare, if not unique, would be something inspired by the French legend of Mélusine, which I really suggest looking into. Anyway, those are some of my suggestions.
