30 years ago. I rode my bike to my local 7-11, pocket full of money, bought some packs of Batman movie cards, a hot dog, and a Slurpee. Used my spare change to play whichever arcade games that they had there (Gauntlet 2, TMNT, etc). You brought back some seriously fond memories of my childhood with this video and unboxing. Thank you, Brad! I loved this.

Wait...your ice cream truck dude sold trading cards too?! Right on! All we had was a Dickie Dee on a three wheeled ice cream cooler trike. They had to go around a long grueling route everyday with an awkward heavy bell ringing trike in even the worst of heatwaves. lol Poor dudes.
@@BradTheDCUniverseGeek Yes , the ice cream truck guy also carry Ninja Turtle movie cards and Power Rangers. He sold a lot of cool collectibles. I mostly remember the era of POGS. I used to invest a lot of my allowances on them. In the end I lost all of them...can't even remember how but I guess thats just the kid in me haha.
Great watch I collected them all as a kid I remember the moment I got the final card! I have them in a photo album stored away and plan to put them on the wall of my man cave They should be out for people to see!
I knew when I saw this teased on Instagram that watching this would be full of those strong nostalgia feels and it didn't disappoint. Some of those cards are burned into my memory and others I've never seen before in my life.
I had a bunch of those cards as a kid as well. I hope to one day be as fortunate as you and obtain an unopened box of Batman the movie trading cards. Great video!!!
Yep, me too. I could never find anything other than Cosmic Cards and Batman movie and Returns cards so I've been focused on collecting these little rectangular beauties too.
Cryptozoic has a few good DC comics sets, they’re out of print now so they can get kinda pricey but really nice artwork. I’ve also got a set of the Amalgam universe trading cards which I really love.
I really enjoyed this. It didn't seem like 20 minutes. Looking forward to Series 2! I had just graduated from high school before the movie was released, I didn't get the cards, but I got several books at my comic store that were geared towards the 50th anniversary. Just like the 20 minutes, it doesn't feel like 30 years...
Cool video, love Batman 89, favorite Batmobile of all time, if i was rich, i would buy the new toyota supra and paint it mate black, i think it looks like a little Batmobile.....fyi i think the Batman boots were Air Jordan 6 prototype version..... i cant believe you squeezed in a Zellers commercial, but that Batman voice was terrible!

This was painful to watch. I had the exact same box. Only opened up one package of cards. I tried one piece of gum, but had the exact same experience as you did, but this was in the mid 90s, so yours was worse than mine.

I had some of the Star Wars cards too. If I remember correctly I got them with a bunch of E.T. cards mixed in from a buddy in a trade of some sort.

I THINK there were 2 complete sets of cards per box and there was no check list I know because I have both series 1 and 2 complete.
