Sometimes I think they just smash stuff because bass are more like cats (curiosity) then anything else. They see something "wiggle" by, & it's almost like they can't help but to react. Hence the reason for reactionary baits. I don't even think they're necessarily hungry half the time. But when it is that time, like when it's just getting light or when the light is leaving, it must be their normal feeding time, and then whatever can get them to react the most, they "SMASH." Also, whatever makes them react any other time during the day as well. Since the weather has been getting cooler, it seems to me like anything that can get down to them where it's warmer, and any kind of little flash or something that has a high reaction response, seems to work the best for me right now. I haven't been out that much as you know, but that's just my two cents.😅

With your Speed Worm are you using a weight stop with your sinker? Are you using a 1/4oz or larger sinker?
