Coil has provided sooooo many interesting moments for me. Some really mind blowing. They have sort of always been there to relate to somehow. This is no exception. Undeniably good. I miss you guys a lot.
I've been a Coil fan ever since I first heard "Stolen and Contaminated Songs" and I have several of their CDs, but I had never heard this until just a few weeks ago, and this is among the best things they've ever done in my estimation.
I was introduced to this by a FB group, abnormal music, lot of industrial, plundersonics etc, I too had heard Coil, but this track I had missed, it's gorgeous!
Any music that you love ( anything that hits you deep inside or pulls on ur heartstrings) is IMO the ultimate stimulation for drawing/painting. Music gets me way deeper into "the drawing zone" and keeps me there longer, ideas flow easier, hours go by like minutes! Its the same way weed effects my process of music making. It wont necessarily result in better music, but will always get me tuned way deeper into the experience, feeling the music more as I'm making it and going on for countless hours, feeling only minutes!
remember, gave one nymphet listen to coil - for her it was a real gap pattern) she really suffered, and begged it off, and subsequently assumed that this kind of music can drive you insane)
I think CoiI is great IMO but am curious about the cover art and its representation , sadly Black Antlers it is not , the track stays and waifs suggested someone vomiting on their hands and knees in the gutter ~ art at the mercy of its beholder
It's not so much my misspellings as it is SIRI's misrepresentation of my word placement or sentence structure, that more than often frustrates but I've grown used to the AI and refuse to turn it off
Never heard their music before but heard of them from Clive Barker (he wanted them to do the OST for Hellraiser), then saw an album cover that seemed to be a raincoat with a gaping arsehole where the heart would be. Normal art.
Yea essentially its just "playing around with digital timestretching on a drumloop". Sounds like they discovered the effect on a new piece of software then basically went to town on it for fun (probably while burning weed intensively for hours, which is always recommended "underground studio" behaviour IMO!). It IS a fun effect to play with; when you go beyond normal limits, unlike analogue stretching, you get all kinds of crazy glitchy effects. I know nothing about these guys but I bet their eyes were red AF while making this :P

Your remark is spot-on, thank you.
This is just an awesome piece of music. I could listen to this over and over -- and I have!
So Freakin' Brilliant.. I'm a huge coil fan and I've never heard this track before today.

Adventures in digitally timestretched drumloops!
#NarcoticTrippinThruClubNarnia 🖤
it's me or this and teengage lightning 10th birthday version sound the same?
I mean it had the same iconic teenage lightning motif. This track is really just the whole album compiled into one song if you think about it

Typing, writing uses different parts of the brain. Why shut that off? Even if you are used to it.

this is OK for about 5 minutes, then its annoying as fuck...
+Rick Deckard This is mostly ambient song, not your average pop song, normally I listen to this while reading or doing something, and it works greatly
