Thanks for this - we're starting our microgreens next month! Just set up the new greenhouse and I've been going mad deciding whether or not to add aquaponics in the basement under a grow light as well.
No problem, hope what I've learned can save others time and hassle. Oo that's a tuff decision that would be a fun set up. If it's for your business I'd consider the expensive up front cost that won't be payed back nearly as fast as a microgreens business investment.
i know Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
@Antonio Heath Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I'm new to growing microgreens, just got my seeds from True Leaf Market a couple of weeks ago. Should I use a heating mat for seed germination? I'm in MA and we keep the house around 68-70 degrees F. Thanks for all the great videos!
Thanks Steven for another really great informative video !!! I bought all my seeds from true leaf market in the spring mizunia red and green ,peas ,China rose radish , sunflowers ! I need to buy some sturdy 1” 1020 trays I’ll look up bootstrap farmer !!! Thanks again from akaplantgeek
I'll show that in pt 2 but it all goes to my chickens, which are my soil creators for my market garden. If I didn't have chickens I would just compost it normally.
Thank you so much for making this video Stephen! @15:50 You talk about mold. Would I first cut/pull out the effected greens before I add the new top soil?
I don't, I'm always experimenting with doing the least steps to save time haha. I always let them sit in the sun and air to sterile. At most I'll spray them off with water then let sit in sun. If I was gonna take the time I'd just use at least 5% vinegar or 10-12% hydrogen peroxide. A lot of people use bleach I think that's overkill especially if you breathe it or get it on your skin.
Thanks...I agree with not using bleach....I have ben rinsing my tray and then spraying with H2O2,and that seems to be working ,growing inside under LED light.
I seed the pea/sunflower 2-3 days before the dry small seeds in the winter. In summer that time window gets closer because of heat and light so I plant the soaked seeds 1-2 days before the dry. NP, hope that helps!
Thanks Jake. I had Argentinean ants rob my hive and they absconded :( So once I move to our new property I'll be starting again. Will be doing my langstroths and I'd love to try my hand at top bar.

@Antonio Heath It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
Nicely presented. Thems good eatin'! Can't wait to see the next part(s) of the video series...
Thanks Paul. Yes they are! They have become my favorite raw greens to eat, even over salad. I better get to editing!
What is that watering wand? Looking for something like it but haven’t been able to find a straight one.
Do you reuse your soil mix for more trays? Compost it?
great video my friend! having a salad tonight that features 8 of our latest batch of microgreens. thanks for sharing!
Nice Brian glad to here your micro production is up and running I bet it was delicious.
Wishing you all the very best for 2020 my friend. Looking forward to more great stuff in the year to come.

For most seeds those temps will sprout micros no problem.
@@NaturesAlwaysRight Ok, thanks.
Thanks.
Thank you for your videos!! so can we use trays with no holes as well? or do they have to have draining holes?
Thanks Steven for another really great informative video !!! I bought all my seeds from true leaf market in the spring mizunia red and green ,peas ,China rose radish , sunflowers ! I need to buy some sturdy 1” 1020 trays I’ll look up bootstrap farmer !!! Thanks again from akaplantgeek
No problem David! Nice those are all great seeds, your mix should be very tasty! Ya bootstrap has the best stuff
cool a lot of good info. What do you do with all your soil after you harvest? Does that become waste? can it get reused at all?
I'll show that in pt 2 but it all goes to my chickens, which are my soil creators for my market garden. If I didn't have chickens I would just compost it normally.
Thank you so much for making this video Stephen! @15:50 You talk about mold. Would I first cut/pull out the effected greens before I add the new top soil?
I've tried both, and it works best to just completely cover mold, greens, and all with soil. Totally fixes the problem.
Steven, do you clean an sterilize your trays in between each seeding? Thanks for all the great info over the years, Happy New Year!
I don't, I'm always experimenting with doing the least steps to save time haha. I always let them sit in the sun and air to sterile. At most I'll spray them off with water then let sit in sun. Great content. Where can I get a hat like what you are wearing? Looks great for out door work.
Thank you. My sister works for Colombia and she got me it from them.
Do you seed all the trays on the same day? Thanks Steve love your stuff
I seed the pea/sunflower 2-3 days before the dry small seeds in the winter. In summer that time window gets closer because of heat and light so I plant the soaked seeds 1-2 days before the dry. NP, hope that helps!
Thanks I can do this
YES you can! You will really love them and once you get used to it it's just another weekly chore that takes about 5 minutes to complete.
I enjoyed your video☺🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Thanks Shirley!
FIRST!
Great video, as always!
Thanks Joshua! 1st place trophy goes to you ;)
Hi, great video. Hi beekeepers and Nature enthusiast.🐝😀❤️ Do you still beekeep??
Thanks Jake. I had Argentinean ants rob my hive and they absconded :( So once I move to our new property I'll be starting again. Will be doing my langstroths and I'd love to try my hand at top bar.
@@NaturesAlwaysRight sorry to hear that.
@@JakeBeesos It's all good, part of the learning process. Can't wait to get back into it I miss it.
I wanna start micro greens so I can start incorporating them into sandwiches, eggs, salads even
Nice! It's such a great way to get the most nutrient rich greens in your life. They are super good on all kinds of food or just a salad by themselves.
Nature's Always Right what about the seed husks I can see that maybe being the only problem?
@@HIGHGRADECHANNEL Oh ya they are a problem, I'll cover that in part 2 next week on harvesting and packaging

Damn dawg those are some bushy eyebrows. Lol
Now you won't forget me ;)
