    In all my years working with Ethernet and PoE, I'd never heard of the Type 1/2 designations. I'd always seen and heard it discussed as 802.3 at or af.
    So, good job on the video. I'm always happy when I learn something new from another TH-camr.

      Thanks Jeremy. Like USB technology, I've received a couple of comments from people trying to understand PoE. Now that it's posted however, I wonder if I went a bit too far talking about the circuitry. Maybe I should have spent more time chatting about the gauge of the cabling, since that will allow for more distance.

    A wonderful video that has really set me straight in regard to POE. It was very well done and from a technical perspective very well explained. I now have a wonderful insight into how POE works and will be applying this solution to the current problem I have Merci Sir....

    In an effort to cut costs and increase profits, some sellers offer Cat 5 and Cat 6 cable made with CCA (copper clad aluminum) wire, small diameter wires such as AWG 26, or a combination of both. This has the potential to significantly reduce the output of the switch/injector. With longer runs, especially when using POE+ or POE++ it would probably be best to use a pure copper AWG 23 Cat 6 cable.

      @PE4Doers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fully agree - copper. In addition to the great points you make, that clad'ed wire also tends to loosen up in the connectors over time at a significantly faster past than pure copper.

    Hi, if power and data together with 12 36 pair. Which one is for data?

    • @PE4Doers
      @PE4Doers  ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean by 12 36? In POE, the power and the data share the same wires. I describe the details of that at 15:27 in the video. The power is a constant level, however the data is variable square wave.
