Glad you cited Scott, it's such a cool project that it's nice to see him getting credit instead of just quietly ripped off

    I need that board!

Adafruit launched a USB-PD trigger board, SparkFun launched a brushless motor driver... This is a good week in hobby electronics.

Look forward to seeing what project you come up with for Halloween this year. 🎃

Do you have any info about the motor stall torque? The chinese datasheet is quite incomprehensible.

How much torque does this motor actually have?
Would it be similar to the torque of a brushless DC motor used to drive a VCR video head?
If not what motor would be recommended?
Also the hall effect sensor and current feedback, can they be used to control the RPM of the motor such that it stays at a constant speed so long as the torque required does not go over the motor's maximum torque?
I've got a record player where I replaced the stock motor with a brushless DC motor that drove a VCR video head. I used a basic speed control circuit that is sensitive to temperature and perhaps this board would do just what I need.
That said maybe I could ditch the chip on the motor I currently use and wire this board to it using the current sensors on the board to detect the RPM.

When you said "magic" i thought you were going to unveil Analog Devices' "MagIC" multiturn magnetic sensor. Dunno if it is on your radar, but that chip is pretty nifty.
