Thank you for a great tutorial. I really like that you narrated it instead of those tutorials that play music because you can't always see the settings they use. You explained everything very well & made it easy to follow. Thank you again! Enjoy every moment!
Damn! This tutorial was straight fire! Just subscribed and will take a deep dive into ur other vids. I love that you can easily swap the text out. Thank you!
I like his work not only bcz his tutorials are great but through his videos, he also teaches the *value of ART* in real life. #love from INDIA #50k coming soon.
Got a sub in me bro. Love how simple you make it with a clean presentation and good communication. I took the udemy After Effects Master Class and didn't learn some of the things you shared in this video. Crazy.
This tutorial was so easy to follow!! thank you!! I followed a different tutorial that made me have 2 solids (one for bg and one for saber), but the bg was so useless...unless its supposed to do something? but yours makes sense just having a saber layer and a text layer and thats it. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Thank you Marcela! Not sure what the strategy from other tutorial, I'd have to see it to see why they went with 2 solids. But happy this one was helpful for you.
Wow, that was impressive! I am on a long shallow learning curve with AE, this has definitely pushed me a long a tad. Really well explained and what a stunning effect. Thank you very much for taking the time. Feel lucky to be able to subscribe and ring that bell KP
Appreciate the comment and happy to hear tutorial was helpful! Keeping learning!! Have patience and you'll see what you'll be able to accomplish in Ae. Appreciate the sub!
Hello Sir, I am from Punjab India......... I'm using Premiere Pro for editing. but from past one month (when i subscribe and follow you) i am regularly trying After effect with help of your video tutorial .. Thanks for making good or say Best tutorial helpline for beginner like me.. Thank you again and again ............. #RESPECT
Great tutorial, with excellent explanations. I'd like to share a little tidbit. I deleted and restarted this tutorial about ten times because the neon effect just didn't seem to look right. Ultimately I discovered that my text layer looked more gray than neon because my 3d renderer was set to Cinema 4D. This effect will not look right using Cinema 4D renderer!
Thank you John!! Happy you were able to troubleshoot the issue. Yes, there are several things that won't work properly with the Cinema 4D renderer. By default, Ae uses the Classic renderer and never thought of telling the viewers to double check. But now definitely will give viewers the heads up!
The flares on top was done with Video Copilot Optical Flares and the particles with Trapcode Particular. These are expensive plugins. I sometimes decorate with extra layers. You could do the particles with CC Particle World, free particle effect in AE. I have a tutorial on how to use it. th-cam.com/video/5y2e_X0axTw/w-d-xo.html
Great as usual! I'm on vacation this month and will take lots of pics :) then will apply this text animation technique when I make video clip. Sounds awesome and perfect..ha! Thanks much my brother CM and Have very very big blessed October!
once i do the spotlight the circle doesn't disappear when i enter so when i get to the rotation bit, one part of my neon sign turns a different colour if that makes sense? how do i make the outline of the spotlight go?
I use Adobe Premiere, set the in/out points and export which opens Adobe Media Encoder. You can also just use Encoder and open the original file. Either way, select the mp4 format, then use the high quality or the TH-cam preset.
Hello, man I also '' Alt + [ ] '' these keys don't work. There is no response when you press these keys at the same time. Can you help me? Best regards...

Thank you!!
Awesome. Great tutorial
I want the dust rising and rainbow looking lights like you had with the intro! 😥 Mine came out just like yours minus that. 😔

Thank you Nicole! Enjoy your vacation, may it be a blessed time.🙏
@@cmdelavega Thank you bro CM.
That was a great tutorial!
Thank you! Appreciate it.
Very nice!! Which renderer did you use or does'nt it make a difference? Cheers
I used the classic render. The ray-traced (if you have an Nvidia Cuda graphics card) or Cinema 4D will also work but not needed for this technique.
wow that’s so cool!
Thanks!🙏
I love you're brilliant!!!!!
Thanks you cool

You can go to the Light/Material Options for light and increase/decrease the radius and also increase/decrease the feather/softness of the light.
How to get rid of spot light lines after editing it keeps showing.
How do i save it as a file to use as start clip in movie like Mp4 format or so?
I use Adobe Premiere, set the in/out points and export which opens Adobe Media Encoder. You can also just use Encoder and open the original file. Either way, select the mp4 format, then use the high quality or the TH-cam preset.
@@cmdelavega Thank you
You are so amazing
Thank you Eriona! We're all amazing, each of us have amazing talents within.

Have you buy this neon led sign on neon factory?
you are great
Appreciate the encouragement!🙏
Hello, man
I also '' Alt + [ ] '' these keys don't work. There is no response when you press these keys at the same time. Can you help me?
Best regards...
That's strange... You can always trim a layer by dragging the edges or splice the layer CTRL SHIFT D.
Cool
Thanks!
I lost at effect video copilot. Mine are different can’t see video copilot list
Me either
When i turn on my 3d switch on the "saber" layer it blacks out my background.
In material options, where it says accept lights, switch to off.
@@cmdelavega nvm i fixed it, the 4d cinema rendering was turned on
Hey dude i need help how do i extract it so it moves ?
Are you referring to animating the camera/scene?
@@cmdelavega yea
The customize core doesn’t work with outlines of geometric forms
Try creating a solid with masks that are in a geometric shape. In Saber select Masks.
@@cmdelavega Thanks a lot!
So helpful!!! Such a great youtube tutorial.
Thank you! Happy it was helpful!
Good tutorial, but too fast for the explanations.
