Another classic Colin. Loved seeing the freight over the bridge and you forget how hard those 31s worked. Proper workhorses. Not to mention all the other great locos on show. What a joy to get this all on film. Thanks for sharing
Yes you're so right Ben, those 31s really did work hard in those days, and i've got one from Peterboro'coming up next with plenty of 31 action in that one as well. Glad you're enjoying these trips into the past and thank you for both watching and commenting, it's much appreciated mate. Take care, Colin.
Great footage Colin, you was well off to have a camcorder in the 80s, Regards Mike. No big fences in them days as everyone was in work and didn't what to wonder onto the tracks.
Thanks Mike, I'm glad you enjoyed it. That camcorder I used back then was my father in Laws. He was into airshows and would get me to film them for him and in return he'd let me use it for the trains. Mind you it was the size of a briefcase and had to rest on my shoulder. Have a great weekend mate, Regards, Colin.
Just when i thought it couldent get any better you turn up with this Colin! Definitely the good old days hey! That RF grey was a really smart livery whether it be 37/47/56/58, lovely the addition of a Red sole bar too.Was that your estate parked up on the the roadside just before the 20's appeared? As always really enjoyed, and look forward to your next installment, cheers Nick.
Hey Nick thanks for the kind comments mate. Railfreight grey 🤔hmm let me think about that. Was ok when the paint was fresh but looked dull when it faided, but the addition of the red stripe was a positive. As for the car yes t'was mine, had driven up there with 2 freinds. I had forgotten about the old tipper lorry that passed early in the video, I wonder if ALE are still going. Once again really appreciate your watch time Nick, thanks and stay safe, Colin.
Yet more self inflicted 'torture' watching those class 47's ..I often ask myself why I do it .. reckon I must be some kind of masochist ..lol. Good vid. thks
Ha ha cheers Brian, you can beat yourself up any time you like over those Duffs so long as you're watching my videos lol. Hope you're well mate and look after yourself, Colin. 👍
Absolutely fantastic Colin. Yet another great archive film. Happy Days
Thanks Pete, got plenty more of them on the shelf 😊
