It’s excellent! It’s all high quality video perfectly edited because the fan who made them is a video editor I think and collected all of the content over the years. There’s so much video content in it I had never seen before and I was shocked.

"How do they find the time to do all of this?" - this is why we always ask them to have some rest, to eat and to sleep well. In 2019 they went for vacation for the first time in all of their careers, for a month.
Non-armies from our circle heard it and started asking how we feel about that - they were sure it meant that it was foreshadowing of disband. We KNEW it was a vacation, and we were celebrating!
On the first day Jimin did a livestream to chat with fans where he said he slept till 2 or 4PM, and then had some breakfast and went straight to chat. My whole twitter feed was celebrating that :D
So, the bottom line, they do have a very packed schedule, and we really cheer for them to always have a good rest and to take care of themselves well.

You might be wondering why there seems to be a large gap in KOMCA credits between the rap line and vocal lines. That is because the rapline tends to write their own verses and flow (that compliment the song). With RM having the most because he tends to write the lyrics for majority of BTS discography.

Bear in mind that when Jin says 20/21 he’s talking in Korean age. He started with Big Hit in mid 2011 so he was 18, coming up to 19, in international age.

Jin and SM; what Jin actually said is he was scouted on the street when in middle school by SM, he went to the first stage of the audition and passed but didnt take up the offer because he didnt feel ready.
fun fact id just like to add that Jin didn't give up university when he joined bighit, he actually graduated (2017) one of the most prestigious acting university in Korea while being in BTS and attending classes physically:D
Bighit found a goldmine in him, he really had so much untapped talent

You mentioned that it must be hard for them to go out in public without hiding their identity,, one big aspect of Korean (and especially japanese) fan culture is the respect for idols' personal lives and ARMY (unsurprisingly lol) takes it to another level. ARMY has a generally strict rule that the boys should not be bothered or photographed if seen in public during downtime in their schedules, and when the company announces their vacation times ARMY often trends hashtags like #RestWellBTS to encourage fans to leave them alone during their breaks!

& cant deny, they made music history :)
& as a original VIP (bigbang) Im proud to see how groups like BTS broke the final wall (although still a long road to go) so even I have to admit, as much as my kings will always be kings, bts is definitely the reigning kings but nomatter what fandom one belongs to, be happy & proud because in the end its about music & I for one grew up listening to music from all over the world so Im happy I get to hear more of such in/on more main stream channels!

I know if I personally saw them out in the streets, I'd have a look then turn and walk the other way. At one point when they had an official break and all went places around the world, bighit requested that if we did see them to respect their privacy and that's what real ARMY did. It's just respect for their privacy.

When they went on their official vacation, bighit requested armys to ignore them if they ever see them on the street and that's what we did. 🙂 Obviously there were a few bad apples but quite a lot of them didn't bother the members during their off time

Though i do rember when they were on a 2 month break in 2019 armys made a pact to pretend like we don't know them, should we randomly meet them. We wanted to give them the best possible chance to enjoy their first vacation since debut 😊

Yeh but the clips shown here are definitely later in his vocal journey. His voice was definitely not as strong at all in the first few years especially live. I think that’s what I like the most about jin and his journey is how obvious the growth is and how far he has come. Even not even just vocally but he seemed like a little boy in the earlier vlogs and video diary type things as a person he lacked confidence in his own words. I went back and watched the “American hustle life” and it was shocking seeing how passive and quiet jin was! It’s incredible how far he has come and to be able to see the vast difference is mind boggling and we know how hard he has worked to be where he is today!!! So proud of all these boys and how far they have come… but for me jin has grown the most coming from where he started…. They’ve all grown so much and it’s constantly amazing to me !!!

@@blarmy827 I agree, the other guys are awesome but they already had the foot in the field except maybe hobi with rapping, I must add hobi rap are just so good and it’s amazing how he learned that, to be a good dancer he must have a good sense of rhythm and you can tell by his rap that his rhythm and flo game is top notch... anyway back to jin, his growth is truly extraordinary! He’s a living example of “anything is possible if you work hard enough” and I’ve often noticed that Jin isn’t the type to openly talk about his struggles so seeing his growth in a way made me aware of his struggles cause to grow so much at such a fast pace... he must’ve worked harder then we can imagine! I’m so proud of him and all other members

The Rise of Bangtan series is absolutely amazing. Just be prepared that it does spoil a lot of songs. Also, please react to the deleted scenes and bonus videos because it's honestly just all quality content.
BTS have to be the most hardworking people I've ever come across, and that's no understatement. The first time they had an extended break (which was only a month long) was in 2019 and that was the first time since they debuted in 2013 that they'd had that much time off. As someone who struggles to even get out of bed on some days, they are truly inspirational. These men deserve all the success and money they've gained and will continue to gain.

As a long time fan, I have seen the full videos (of most) of the clips and interviews that they used for the series, and they picked the most important stuff! They did such an amazing job!
I must add tho, I you're planning to watch this fantastic series, please watch the *deleted series* and *bonus content* for each chapter! They are very hardworking, they are working and practicing almost everyday, for 8-10 yrs straight, that's why whenever they were asked what they like to do during free time, they always answer sleeping.
Many artists are resting during this pandemic but they still busy releasing songs and contents.
It is also their own passion and dedication to involve as much as they could in their music or release own solo works.
They just have very limited time for their own hobby and vacation but they never complain.
They can't go out on their own without companion of managers or guards but sometimes they still do.
So, their company is trying to pay them back for their hardwork by combining working and vacation if they could, like their Bon Voyage series, In the Soop, Summer package and Winter package.

This video is so good! Definitely one of the best reactions to it as well! She has so much good info here though I do find it funny she puts in they practice an instrument when they’ve been seen playing it like twice. Suga plays the piano and is learning the guitar, Jin has been learning the guitar for a while and as far as I’m aware he knows a couple of songs in the piano. V played the saxophone. Jimin knows literally 1song in the piano, it’s a bit of an inside joke among them. The rest is more like we’ve seen them mess around with some instruments.
Not that that makes them any less impressive! Even the ones with very few writing credit have made songs that are amazing. Like I would die happily having written just one of them. Promise by Jimin is a song with his whole soul and tears and all the broken pieces in there, it took him months and months to write, and in the surface it’s quite simple until now day it hits you in the teeth and you’re crying for three hours not really understanding why. Same with Lie... he’s honestly a fantastic writer.

    • @amiii5292
      @amiii5292 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I wouldn‘t agree with the rest part of yours for Jungkook, because he has learned playing the drum for a long time and V sad he can play the drums in an interview (comparable with your statement of Jin playing the guitar). He is also credited for some instruments in BTS‘s songs, for example for the piano in Love is not over (which many people don’t even know), so I would say he can play it to an extend. He just recently started to learn playing guitar and we do not know how good he is, same case for Suga. So I would call it he is learning the guitar as you have stated for Suga. I don’t know why you weight both similar cases differently (same as for Jin’s case playing the guitar). I wouldn‘t call it messing around with some instruments in Jungkook‘s case.

@@amiii5292 The truth is with an exception of Suga(Piano)and Jin (guitar)the rest are still not perfect or are still not experts,V somehow knows something about saxophone,Jimin piano and guitar and Jk drums I would say cause he still isn't in a good place in playing the piano and guitar.Jin is the only one who is average in playing both the guitar and piano. No need to get soo offended.Jimin is pretty good in guitar compared to de rest with an exception of Jin and Suga.

    • @MxEverybody
      @MxEverybody 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@amiii5292 fair enough. I didn’t see V saying he can play the drums or that he’s learning guitar. Or I don’t remember that. I guess my point was more that I find “practices” as a general statement slightly misleading, though I’m clearly wrong on some of the specifics

    • @amiii5292
      @amiii5292 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@MxEverybody V said it in the BTS special on Hulu Japan. One quote of his: "But for Jungkook, he starts at above average in everything. He can do well at drums because he has basic rhythm. He does amazing in beat-boxing, composing, lyric writing, and vocals for making videos.“ We could also see him learning drums for example in their burn the stage documentary years ago and he played drums just recently in BTS’s MusiCare Concert while singing. He actually knows how to play a few basic beats on the drums, which I consider as basic level. That Jungkook started practicing guitar was stated by several members in different interviews, a short time after Suga said he started to learn playing the guitar. We can see Jungkook playing guitar for example in their series ‘In the Soop‘.
But I understand why you pointed it out in your original post. Many fans don‘t hesitate to spread informations and hype the members, even if it is not a big deal or completely wrong. As someone who plays instruments myself (guitar since years, piano just recently) I would say that, except for Suga with the piano, all the other members you mentioned, Jungkook included, have more or less basic skills and can play a few beats or songs. But I’m convinced that they can learn quickly to play the instruments on an advanced level, when it is required or if they want to. Even if someone has basic skills people tend to say that the person plays an instrument. Wether or not the use of this term is appropriate regarding this context is of course debatable.

@@amiii5292 Oh wow, I completely forgot about Jungkook playing guitar In the Soop! I just rewatched it like 2 days ago XD clearly, old age is getting to my memory now!
I do agree that they can learn very quickly since they have that musical sense so advanced by now, but I would've liked for it to be a bit more specific maybe? But maybe that'd be too complicated and long... idk

It isn't finished yet, she is still making more episodes as it takes you through their whole journey however she is currently taking a little break as she does have a full time job at the same time. I'm glad more people are checking out her content as she seems an amazing and talented person who has put so much effort into her series to introduce BTS to new people and show what it is about them that we love. I just want to add a little bit more about Jin because a lot of the group documentaries fall short on him and it's not their fault either. Information about Jin is extremely scattered and limited in availability as well but when Jin started as a trainee, he had just started his first year in Uni as well. So those 2 years pre debut, he would go for regular classes, go for dance classes (since he didn't dance either), singing classes, and from 2012 when he joined the dorm in July, he also started to cook for the boys, drop JK in his school everyday because only he had a car and the school was 40 mins away. This is just one example but you've seen it with all the boys. They seem to have superhuman time management skills. Or they really don't sleep much. I am not sure which is it.
PS: A large part of their professional lives are filmed. Run BTS ended up becoming a way for them to do things they couldn't otherwise.. and Bon Voyage allows them to travel as a group.

So often people see ARMY only as hardcore maniac fans who will go crazy if anyone say bad about these 7 boys or one of them. However, they failed to see the REASON WHY and WHAT makes ARMY so devoted to cheer and support these talented hardworking young men. These 7 men are always sincere and respectful toward others, seeing people can be so disrespect and rude to them without even know a basic thing about them (judging only by hearing or seeing 1 or 2 English songs/mvs, not even know their individual stage name, etc) is not acceptable. They don't know that BTS' always putting so much efforts in their musics and performances ON STAGE and also learning and making better self in every aspects of their REAL LIFE OFF STAGE. When you said "When they have time for doing this, doing that," and with their long-listed best-quality products (either musics, arts, hobbies, skills) that accumulated up until now, we all can see that they've been so well managing their time for positive activities. So much time and effort doing those that they don't have time to do meaningless and negative things. They've always sending positive ideas and thoughts to their fans. They're still young (age range 24-29) yet they're able to do so much. That's also an inspiration for us to be more productive and wisely spending our own time for so many positives activities. This is why ARMY loves and feels so proud of them like a mama/papa/brother/sister/uncle/grandma/grandpa-bear!!! And remember, don't ever try to mess with a bear, any kind of bear, you know ^_~

You're gonna do Rise of Bangtan?! That's exciting. It will give you a lot of background on the kpop industry (but really the idol industry in Korea, not kpop since it's an umbrella term) - but also some clashes between western perceptions of it and reality. Lots to dive into. The creator is a professional editor who worked on the series for years and tried to get the members to speak in their own words as much as possible

So, in the Korean Pop Idol industry, they are first and foremost entertainers. That’s why they do reality shows like Bon Voyage, and their own comedic game shows like RUN, BTS. Episodes of the latter are aired weekly, FREE for their fans. So, while they understand that it is part and parcel of their work and persona, they sometimes find it challenging to balance all the demands and expectations, as understandably as artists, they would prefer to devote more of their time purely to music and performance. Despite being song writers, producers and composers, they all live for stage performances (see their annual world tours designed around newest album), and that is why their 3-hour long LIVE concerts are electrifying. So, Don’t wait to check out their live stages. Their charisma and energy are unbelievable. Just find them on YT (BTS Medley lives).

They forgot to mention that Tae is also one of their visuals. He is one of the best at finding whichever camera is filming him and looking directly into it. He is also so good with his facial expressions that idol trainees study him in their classes. All of the boys are very athletic and Run BTS has had them do everything from bungee jumping to playing table tennis. They are each very different, but they compliment each other in ways that it's difficult to describe. Suga had shoulder surgery late last year and was absent for all of December and January, I think, but any time the others did something like Run BTS, they always brought a picture of him and they left gaps for him in their choreo during all of their live performances. Well, except for one where he was replaced by a snowman. Suga actually went on Vlive and did a broadcast in response to that one.

I know we are all excited for him to get to know them better but let’s also let him get to know some of their music kinda first. He has only heard a few songs and I think what’s most impressive about learning about them off stage is bc of their music and artistry which there are SO many songs, videos, performances and dance practices for him to go through and I think getting into their music is such a cool and vital journey once he has a little bit more knowledge of them from this. Let’s let him get into some of these music videos and stuff bc they have like over 150 songs just as a group lol their music is how most of us found them first and I know their off stage personalities is what made us really love them as army… but let’s let him see some of that which made us enjoy them and their music….bc their music is what really brought them to us… and how deep their lyrics and concepts can be is something that sets them apart in their industry and ours!!!
Even here he said “I haven’t seen any of these in sad,” about the little snippets of their music videos and that makes me sad too bc the music is the center point for how they’ve healed so many of us…let’s let him do a little both… music and performances and also little off stage things too… support his journey however he chooses to do it and I totally understand just wanting him to see every aspect of them but remember he’s going through like 8 years since debut but a decade or more together that he’s going through and it is going to take some time. Be patient army… I am guilty of this as well bc theres so many songs I’m stoked for him to see… and so many run bts things and bangtan bombs that bc of his love for music I know he’s gonna love… we have to let him do his thing and enjoy the journey and try not to push too much… I myself included lol so stoked for him to start to see the word play by the rappers , the intelligence with how they say things or put words together lyrically that hit different!!! Nothing but support my dude! Enjoy the journey!!!

The only big misinfos in this one are jin auditioning at bighit to become an actor, when bighit didn't have an acting department in the first place.
Also, i don't know where the "first member of bts" "became the second member of bts" comes from. Rm, suga and jhope were part of the first line-up with iron and supreme boy. Rm was actually the maknae of the first line up :) then for reasons the two dropped out and the vocalists were picked from the trainees to make the final group. I suppose some members were sure to be in the final lineup but jimin for example has mentioned he wasn't sure if he'd get to debut with them.

If you want to do Rise of Bangtan, I recommend that you start reacting to music videos from the oldest ones, because the documentary generally goes chronologically and spoils the songs along the way. What you could do is check with us which songs the next part of the documentary spoils and then react to those before you do the episode, but it's absolutely up to you. For example, the first episode includes the songs:
    - We Are Bulletproof pt. 1 (not an official song, doesn't have an MV, so it's not necessary to react to it)
    - Like (really nice song from their first album, doesn't have an MV though - if you want to react to it, we could recommend a live performance, but you already heard a bit of it in the BTS Room Live)
    - Intro: 2 Cool 4 Skool (just an intro to their first album, not really necessary to react to it unless you want to do album reactions)
    - We Are Bulletproof pt. 2 (one of the singles for their first album; has a music video)
    - No More Dream (I actually don't remember it being in the first part, but it's in the credits 😂. Their debut song and single for the first album. It has a music video)
There are more songs, but those are either covers or there's like a tiny bit, so it doesn't matter if you hear that. Personally, I would say you should definitely do We Are Bulletproof pt. 2 and No More Dream at least before reacting to the first episode. And maybe Like, but that's just if you want, especially since you already heard a part of it.
But that's really only if you're bothered by being spoiled. The docu doesn't have the whole songs anyway. But on the other hand, it could also act as a guide for you as for what to react to, because I'm sure you have an insane number of recommendations 😂.
Also, it does become clear later that it's the case, but some people tend to be confused at first, since the documentary shows a lot of the kpop industry in general, including things that are done differently in BTS' company. Especially in the first episode, it's not quite clear that some of the things said about the kpop industry are showed more in contrast to BTS than as an example. I just feel like for someone who doesn't know their background that closely, it can be difficult to tell what is the same for BTS and what is different for them at the beginning of the series. That's just something to keep in mind.

Hi, I'm so happy you watched this intro ! :D Now, with you have seen until now you should start to have an idea of why these guys have so many fans ^^
And I'm so glad you will start the Rise of Bangtan, this is the best documentary on them, by far. Aneesa, the editor, did an insane work on it, and it will be very nice for you as you don't know a lot about k-pop, it will explains to you how the industry works in the same time ^^
Also, just a small information that will help you is about korean age. Because,, especially in The Rise of Bangtan they use korean age (and in most of the korean video you can watch, if they talk about their age) I don't know if you already know about this but just in case, koreans count ages differently than us, internationally. So to explain quickly, first they start counting since you're a fetus, so when you are born they consider you 1 already. And, they change officialy their age january 1st, every year for everyone (they still celebrate birthday on the right day) but that makes things a little complicate.
A good example for illustrate that is V. He's born december 30th 1995, so january 1st 1996 for us we will say he's like 2 days old, korean will say 2 years. (1 year when he's born, and they add one the first day of january).
What you have to keep in mind, is that when people in korean video talks about their age most of the time they are a year (or two) younger for us. So for example Jungkook in the start of the serie (it takes place in 2013) will introduce himself saying he's 16, when for us he was 15.
Anyway, thank you for this video, I enjoyed it a lot, and have a wonderful day !
