Rwandan fan of yours here. Tutsis and Hutus existed before colonialism, but they were a form of economic classification, with Tutsis being the wealthy people, while Hutus were the working class. But a person could move from one group to another depending on how much they accumulate or lose wealth. When the colonizers came, they turned them into ethnic groups and one of the major factors that differentiated the two groups was the nose. So, if you had a smaller nose, you'd be Tutsi, and a broader nose would be Hutu, which as you guys mentioned also signified a person's proximity to whiteness because Tutsis had more Eurocentric features than Hutus. So, it wasn't about colorism, but it is an issue here as well. Hope that helps
wow. I find this information really interesting. What about the language? did/ do the two groups speak distinct languages or its all just kinyarwanda across the divide?
@@Waigwe_Nyoike The language has always been the same - Kinyarwanda. Now during genocide, there were some people that you couldn't whether a person is a Hutu or Tutsi. Imagine you come from a hutu and tutsi. And as my man was attempting to say, Tutsis used to be considered as beautiful, but you would find a hutu who is also beautiful [even up to now it is still in some people though] and the killers would be confused. And there are those who had their ID as hutus and yet physically they are tutsi. My mom was like that. Anyways, we come from a country that has dark history, Kagame did a lot but these things to rub them all off, it will take ages.
Wow. That fact about the language being common totally blows me away. A nationwide genocide based purely on colorism! Goes to show how humans will use whatever reason, no matter how flimsy, to hate. True, healing may take ages but your country will get there. Thanks for the info.
Haha, you've got the perfect work setup - headphones on and some entertaining content to keep you company! 😂 We'll do our best to keep those episodes coming more frequently. Your support means the world to us! 👍😄
Finally🥳 yow!! Abeen waiting for this episode banah, you guys😤 when is the next episode already 🤗 Plus Good Lord, ya’ll stunning banah👌🏾🙌🏽 Big up!big up!big up! Sending lots of love from 🇦🇪 Dubai ❤️❤️
About this beauty looks....I also went through proper trauma, tall, dark alafu I had bad nails for a girl.... Then later I hear my parents fighting that they were given a 2rd born msichana (me) and weeeuh it killed every part of me because I didn't know who to tell or what to think...so I failed also academically just to completely "compliment" the failure mentality that already I had gotten I didn't feel like being anything good would change how people thought of me. Anyway....it affected me all thru , and when I went to campus (diploma level) I really needed to prove I belonged somewhere and here I messed hard just to boost my esteem....long story short I ended up HIV+, never graduated, single jobless mum now in my 30s trying to make ends meet. This issue is real for many
Wow! So deep! So sorry you had to experience all that. Please know that God loves you and He is always with you no matter what... I don't know you but I am saying a prayer for you and yours tonight ❤
Finally😊🎉❤ .Every day i was like acha nifike youtube nione kama wame drop episode ingine 😂😂.And today i was so happy seeing another episode my love for you guy's can never be explained ❤❤❤. THANK YOU for always being this funny and at the same tym we learning y'all 😂.
The conversation for light vs dark really hurt for me because as a darker babe , nimekipitia 😂. Even kwa make up sijai pata hata shade yangu and growing up hata kwa plays the darks one tungeplay shetani and demons and the lighter ones angels 😂😂
The struggle is real, and we appreciate you sharing your experiences! 😄 It's unfortunate how societal biases can manifest in various ways. But remember, you're a shining star, and your unique beauty is something to be celebrated!🌟🤗💄😊
You are beautiful just as you are. I have a pal who is in her 40s now, well read and all, has had a decent income most of her adult life.... but out of the blue, she has started bleaching her skin but the scalp kinda gives it away. This colorism issue goes deeper than we think.
During one of my travels, I went to use the toilets at the stop over. While I was relieving myself, I heard some weird noise. Nilistuka and when done, I came out to find this lady who was in the next toilet scared shitless. She was standing on the seat then ikaanguka. The whole toilet seat was literally dislodged😂😂.
We're working hard behind the scenes to bring you more episodes, and your patience is greatly appreciated. Hang in there; more fun and entertaining content is on the way! 🎥😊
Indeed, there is a World Toilet Day! 🚽🌍 It's a day dedicated to raising awareness about the global sanitation crisis and the importance of access to clean and safe toilets for everyone.
These three are beautiful and smart upstairs. They can be idiots sometimes but when they decide to address serious issues, please sit down and shut up.
Skin bleaching has been so normalised, actually i equate it beauty surgeries.. the level with which the very prominent and famous people are promoting these ideas banange... Khanyi Mbau's story on skin bleaching is really so sad to a point of wearing gloves to cover knuckles throughout the netflix show... zari the other day got herself a dimple and the way she was defending.... being too African is confused for uncivilised 😢.
About Blackish, the creator centered it around his family. Here are his exact words: “It was absolutely based around my family, ” His wife is actually light skin and is called Rainbow, just like Dre’s wife on Blackish. Either way, Hollywood likes casting lighter skinned people, saying that they pass as black. Tyler perry pia ako guilty kwa hii story. Look at Sistas. 90 percent of the men cast in Sistas are light skinned. Apparently, they do well among the viewers of BET.
Well at least in Kenya they let you keep it in cornrows. In UG like 90% of us has to cut our hair until like till form six vac to campus. We need to spread the gospel to stop colorism
There's a church on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway pale burnt forest that has the PALEST version of white Jesus I have ever seen. What is funnier is how sharply he contrasts with the residents milling about herding sheep apo. I'm telling you dude is so pale he could pass for an elf on Lord of the Rings. Hair's all white

Lupin the movie. Would it be the same if they cast a tall white man with blonde hair and blue eyes?
