Overlanding Botswana |EP 5| - Khwai Magotho - epic 4x4 river crossings

- In this episode we make our way to the khwai region. The Moremi Game Reserve blew us away but we still have a good days drive to exit the reserve!
We wake up at Third Bridge and make our way to Magotho campsite.
This drive is an adventure on a whole other level - we face many water crossings, some so deep we almost submerge the vehicles to the max.
We also navigate a section where our 79 series land cruiser started sinking in a waterhole - water entered the vehicle and caused everyones stress levels to raise through the roof!!
What an epic trip this is.. amazing wildlife plus the opportunity to put our offroad rigs through their paces and really engage 4x4!
The Suzuki Jimny, Amarok and Fortuner prove that they are just as worthy as a Cruiser to be called Conquerors of Africa!!
Overlanding through Botswana just remains one of the most spectacular things you can do on planet earth!!

Those water-crossings make the Moremi a place where not many Jimnys will ever venture. Though there have been one or two over the years.
EDIT I am surprised to spot a Jimny drying out right at the end of the video and in my experience dry out is what a Jimny will have to do if goes through water deeper than the top of the wheel-wells unless one is going to first seal a number of spots on the chassis and cabin,.

Noooo, nowhere similar to Aussie. There is wild animals all over and the predators they wanna see unfortunately they can see them and they can not because of engine noises. But otherwise the roads maybe similar to Aussie only along the coastal areas.

Ooooh Kenny, you and that crew are so damn cool…I love how you scout with that V8 beast…and the little Suzuki is a smart tough little nut to crack. Still to get stuck…😅😅😅. Don’t beat yourself about that stunt you pulled of drowning. It’s what makes the adventure worthwhile. I love my country so much and have been there several times but never take the water crossings 😂😂🙏🏾. You make the beautiful adventures guys🫡✌🏽💪🏽

would it have been possible to avoid the water crossings ? Or where they on the main access roads ?
