"Hagakure" wasn't written to teach samurais to fight. many believe, since it was written during an era in which they weren't really needed, the book was written to remind them of how to remain prepared to fight. that's also why the book goes into the "spirit of an age" and how we can't return to it - the samurai had to accept that the world had changed and they couldn't go back to the old ways... which lead to the book being compiled from a series of discussions.

I can't believe this mafia crew is so incompetent.they should have known right when he pulled up it was ghost dog.the mob is supposed to be hitting the sheets and in high alert but they are a bunch of bumbling idiots.this the only problem I have with this scene.the mob knew he was coming.they are the ones who should have been posted up with a couple of snipers.the other scene that bothers me is when they trash ghost dogs place.the evidence that it was his place is everywhere and they just thrash the place and leave.they don't set up a ambush?all they do is piss off a professional killer.it makes no sense whatsoever.yes they are incompetent but not this bad.they knew where he lived and ghost dog would have been killed because he was completely surprised they found out where he lived.it is stupid and makes 0 sense.other then that it was a great movie.mabey i am mising something.mabey the father wanted to die so his daughter could keep the family going because she after his death could.she would have the money and the debts that the father had would go away.

Considering how much of a wild card Ghost Dog was, I'm surprised if he really felt that safe around the guy (even though GD's did feel absolute loyalty towards Louie).
Also it's a pretty big wager to assume that it actually WAS Ghost Dog shooting up the place. Considering the line of work they're in and all.
Your POV makes good sense. But this detail still struck me as a bit weird.

Does Forest do any actual samurai hand to hand combat fighting in this movie?
    Or is just mostly guns?

The movie is indeed a masterpiece in every way; I just wish the ending was a bit different where instead of allowing himself to be killed by his master he rejected his master for his betrayal of him, killed him and went on to be a crusading ronin hitman using his deadly skills to help those in need, That would have been the perfect way to truly end the movie in a Japanese Samurai western style!💯😁😉👍

That's twice that Ghost Dog has walked into a room to kill somebody and had no idea that Louise is right there. There's something very mysterious about that girl that she can slip right under his radar like that.
