    I don't know why people online are giving the 120 a bad review. I can hardly tell the difference between the two.

      I have a pair of A120's. For the $137 I paid Crutchfield to ship me a pair I'll never complain about them. Indeed, they impress me all the time. Solid build, attractive, and sound like JBL's alright. They may be the best money I've ever spent on audio.

    I had a choice between getting the 130’s or the 120’s at the same price, so I went for the 130’s. I’m quite surprised at how good the 120’s sound, and how similar the two are. Still glad I got the 130’s, but I guess I would have been satisfied with either. Thank you for the comparison vid. Very well done.

    A130 sounds more relaxed, slightly less melded in loud passages. Still the A120 is excellent for size and money!

    Extremely small difference. The 130 has a tiny bit more bass and is a drop richer sounding. Good consistancy between them. I just wish JBL would try something else aside from metal dome tweeters these days. Nice music on this demo, E Project.

      The tweeter on the a130 sounds great there is zero fatigue .

      Why not metal dome tweeters?

    • @williammiebach1798
      @williammiebach1798 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@matereo Some people like them because they have an extended, often slightly accentuated response in the uppermost frequencies, and sometimes upper-mid presence areas too. The problem is greatest to me on acoustic music and instruments where they overlay varying degrees of an unuatural, textural sharpness, metalic shimmer or ringing sound to these instruments that is not part of their sound, or in the recording. They're a less design intensive way to manufacture a tweeter with an extended response and nice energy, but are not the most musicaly transparent or natural sounding. Some of those things are even audible to me when they're used in $10,000 JBL or Focal "studio monitors".

      @@williammiebach1798 No they dont.. i mean i built allot of loudspeakers with the Vifa D25AG aluminium dome and i measured all of them and they are not accentuated at all unless theres some sort of external resonance going on.. As a matter of fact one of my all time favourite dome tweeters.

    Can't discern enough difference to spring for the 130's. Would like to see you compare the 120's with the Klipsch R-51m.

    Does anyone know why you can't get any 130's now , everything says their unavailable

    Many people claim that Jbl or Klipsh are rock n roll speakers or good for metal.
    I listen mostly classic rock and Heavy Metal and i find efficient horn speakers very fatiquing with that music genres.

    I think the main cause of tonality change is that mic position remained the same while tweeter level varied. Maybe I'm wrong.

    My A130 have two quality levels depending on how they are connected at the posts and likely by design. I'm running mine with polarity swapped. My suggestion is to at least try it. My experience has been that this loudspeaker exhibits a distortion in one of two phase orientations. Making the swap resulted in better vocal presence, better texture, uncolored mid bass.
