Grew up watching the Magic vs Bird rivalry, and when that ended, the MJ dynasty. Good times...

@@jamesanthony5681- no, they saved it. The NBA was seen as a cocain fueled mess. The NBA finals were shown of TV on tape delay.
After Bird and Magic, the Finals were live and ratings through the roof.
      Jordan increased it internationally.

I just saw a video where he said the person that had the greatest impact on his life was his father. I really appreciated hearing that and was surprised because after all of these years I never heard about him nor saw any pictures of him. However, the statement was so powerful because Magic is a man of high stature and widely respected.

    He got that right
It was like........Magic, that he ended up in LA, and Bird ended up in Boston.
The league would never be the same again, and the NBA was in a sad, sad state, when they got there, in 1980. They NEEDED those two stars to turn things around....

That’s right, yes indeed! But the product on the court was very good it wasn’t because the players back then weren’t good enough, because them all were outstanding. George Gervin, Julious Erving, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Pistol Pete Maravich were awesome players. It just happened for some reason that MSM weren’t into it.
But this time around the league has enormously deteriorated. And now is up to a 7’4” center that wants to play like a 6’ 7” SmF. To bring back fans to the stands and at front of the tv 📺 sets.

I would like to see Larry Bird and Magic games. We saw enough of MJ. Bird greatest introduction for Magic HOF when Celtics lost to Lakers in one game telling his team to lay Down their weapons
and move on. Wish the old generation would appreciate Stephen Curry generation!!!

Who says they don’t enjoy todays era of ball? I think it more so has to do with the little pimply faced Timmy’s claiming they know the history of the game despite never seeing these players play outside of two highlights. Just my opinion.
On both ends you have real fans, and on both sides you have an overwhelming amount of mediocre hometown fans who have no clue what they’re talking about 😂 that’s the gods honest truth. Thanks for the comment.
Personally, I enjoy every single player for what they are and I simply try to enjoy their career by catching as many games as possible simply because I love the game, it’s history, and look forward to all future players who will have an opportunity to play as well as make an impact in the NBA 🏀

Thank GOD for Magic's dad. Imagine if Magic went to the Kings. There's no MAGIC/BIRD NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP game, their rivalry probably don't exist, there's no SHOWTIME. Celtics probably dominate the decade winning 6-8 chips. Fast forward to the 90s. Shaq probably stays with the Magic & Kobe plays for the Hornets. Even LeBron probably doesn't play for the Lakers either because without Magic & Showtime winning championships there's no incentive to play for the Lakers because there's no Lakers Mystique. Also NBA games probably would've been taped delayed until Jordan came in the league & maybe there's no DREAM TEAM.

I keep saying this but Jordan gets way too much credit. No disrespect to Jordan because there's no question of his greatness. But it took Jordan many years to win a championship where Magic and Bird won the championship in their first and second years. And Bird took the Celtics from the bottom and made them contenders his first year. So both Bird and Magic individually and together changed the NBA from the beginning. Jordan didn't win his first championship until Bird and Magic were in their final years. Jordan had to wait for Bird and Magic to leave before he got to the top.
