- Iridikron is cooking hard - and by diving deep into WoW's latest lore, I've worked out what he's up to. If you've had big questions about where WoW's going, this is the video for you.

bro get a conditioner please that hair is crying
Iridikron is exactly what we needed. A baddie that is smart but not arrogant.
And his main trait isn't nipples
@@Iceburg2355 *Zovaal's nipples joins the chat* xD
Who said he is a baddie? 😅
Ehhhhh i din't know if i start calling him smart yet since his plan is to fight the titans
He'll probably be the final boss of The Last Titan.
so many years later and we're still thinking about il'gynoth's whispers. so damn cool.
To answer the question as to how Iridikron plans to bring the Titans back for his showdown with them, I think that's where Xal'latath fits into the picture. While operating as a blade for the priests, she was able to access the Seat of the Pantheon and achieve what other void beings had failed to do. Whatever the Seat of the Pantheon is, its clearly more than simply a floating councilroom because apparently its defenses are strong enough that they've remained impenetrable up until, us, the player, with Xal'latath's blade, take down Argus & activate the Pantheon's leash upon Sargeras.
She remarks with the following line: "Long have we sought entry into this realm! To think we have a mortal to thank for giving us our foothold. Your service will be remembered!" when we visit the Seat of the Pantheon with the blade within our hands.
Whatever it is that she's learned from seeing the Pantheon, she's clearly the key to Iridikron's plans.
Speaking of lines, its a stretch BUT there is a similar line that IS in the game that Xal'atath's blade whispers to the player that might be of interest.
"A corrupted corpse of a dragon... How dangerous could that be?" (at Nythendra and Dresaron). This is taken from the Emerald Nightmare raid. As an added tidbit, studying the whispers that warlocks get from the Skull of the Man'ari gives us this line when a player is within the High Mountains: "Strong, powerful, cunning. Dragons would make ideal minions if they were only more... subservient.".
The Jailers plan is coming together nicely
lol!
Now I need a video of the theory that has emerged lately: Xal'atath is gathering the essence of the already dead Old Gods for an unknown purpose.
The theory is that Xal'atath is gathering essence from the Old Gods, but like most of them they are currently dead, she is using other resources (time travel) to collect that essence at key moments.
- The essence of N'Zoth was collected in Battle for Azeroth, specifically at the time the dagger (Blade of the Black Empire) was used against Carapace of N'Zoth (the dagger disappears after that encounter)
- The essence of Yogg-Saron was collected in Dragonflight, specifically in Dawn of the Infinite. According to Dragonflight, Galakrond's corruption was due to the Order's powered wells being infected by Yogg-Saron.
- The essence of C'Thun is in the process of being obtained in Season of Discovery. The appearance of Shadowy Figure could be a fragment/projection of Xal'atath that traveled from the future to the past to recover the essence when C'Thun has not yet been defeated.
- The essence of Y'Shaarj is in process and we may see it in Patch 10.2.7: Dark Heart. With the theme of Timerunning: Pandamonium, it would not be unreasonable for us to return to Siege of Orgrimmar to prevent Xal'atath from obtaining the essence from Heart of Y'Shaarj.
This sounds exciting. Something that Chris might do. Let's just hope Dan Theloser don't fnck it up for him.
that would be so freakin sick
they could even tie it to the ancient one heartstone card, which was already mentioned to be canon in azq'roth.
Could it be that Xal'atath have to travel to SoD because she couldn't claim C'thun in the present due to a certain object stuck in the middle of Silithus?
I think it was clear by what blizz said that its not timetravel, its telling stories of the past that were lost. So it happened at that point, not a timetravel thing.
"please send help, I've been here for days". In the corner cracked me up.😂
24:53 "So, what does that say to me? I don't really know!" Sums up this whole video nicely for me.
If you go to Old Silithus, talk to the guy from the Thunderfury questline in the northwest corner of the map, he speaks of the Titans and the Old Gods. How the Old Gods were the creators and Titans basically cursed the land. Looking at some of the old vanilla dialogue might be worth your time.
Personally, my theory as to how Iridikron plans to take down the titans is to have the void and the titans battle it out. And when both have worn each other out. Iridikron will swoop in and take them all out.
That would be even more stupid than just think that the void might consum the weakend Titans.
Fighting a cosmic force is insane, fighting two is far beyond that.
You overall can't even destroy them without also destroying reality.
I saw iridikron walking through the portal many times and just now i saw the elf shape on the right when he walked in.
So, Iridikron using the Void's own arrogance to his advantage?
Clever Boy.
To be honest its maybe better than be a slave of the titans.
Not going to lie here. I thought the fact that the Heart of darkness, and the "key" were the same thing, was pretty obvious.
I've assumed such for a majority of the lore drops but if you take Twitter seriously, the lack of reading skills becomes noticeably painful.
Are you telling me the obvious macguffin was actually a macguffin all along?
Great video, thanks! The lore of Dragonflight has gotten alot of flak but when it's framed like this and all the threads are woven together, it's shaping up pretty damn cool
I just hope Iridkron will turn anti hero recurring character in future expansions and not just "another raid boss or in some bad cases a final boss to a five man dungeon".
I hope you're right, but problably not😢
Dawn of the Infinite was just a set back!
@@Conorp77 And Shadowlands NEVER happened! NONE of my characters know anything about the Shadowlands (except for Ardenwield), and that's that!
Love the video! Such a great breakdown of the story; and it really helps understand what is going on 😊
Again, you are on the right track.
Essences of the old gods is what is being collected.
Quick list of last known locations of the essences active.
Nzoth - blade of xalatath as the husk was stabbed consuming some powerful essence.
Yogg Saron - died in ulduar.
Cthun - died in classic
Yssraj - the heart being consumed by garrosh in siege of org.
How she will obtain them.
Nzoth - knife is missing, presumed to be in xalataths cult or control.
Yogg - consumed from galakrond.
Yssraj - Timerunning PANDAmonium, time walking siege of org raid in 10.2.6
Cthun - xalatath uses time travel to go back and get Cthun essence from season of discovery ( void night elf talks about her experience in DF)
9:57 Okay, I like Alextrasza’s new outfit, but it’s annoying that they’ve insterted it retroactively into the lore. I feel halfway like I’m being gaslit. “What bikini? She’s always worn this outfit!”
😂 It's still Danuser's writing, and he's notorious for gaslighting
Were you crybabies and social media clows who went batshit crazy about stuff office games like cubicle crawling and how sexist the game is. Then they reacetd to that, but of course you crybabies just keep crying and the social media clowns are only intereste in fake drama anyway, even if they have to make it up.
It's not that deep, it's just a more modern approach to the story telling using the current design.
@@206Zelda i dont think danuser was in charge of the design department for what Alexstrasza was going to look like in Dragonflight. his storywriting is shit but now you're just blaming him for things he literally did not have influence over as per his (seemingly former) position in the dev team
I like that all the whispers and phrases about a dark heart were actually "just" about a trinket. Which is cool thats core fantasy stuff, trinkets, artifacts and weapons who are then used for something greater after infusing them with power X or who are already powerful by nature. I also quite like that Iridikron is able to disguise himself as a part of a Mountain in the new cutscene, imagine how often he was able to spy on us and others.
A brilliant video!
Makes me wonder how Iridikron plans to hold the Void in check once the Titans are gone ... people like him must have a plan.
During legion I mained a shadow priest and I love the void and old god storylines, but two of my favorite quotes from her I only heard one time were:
"Have the naaru told you about their servants before the draenei? No? Curious."
And her mentioned the sundering, shattering and THE SCOURING which I feel hasn't ever been brought up anywhere.
26:30 Titans doing Titan things, a better explanation is Giants do not recognize the concerns of ants.
20:10 Just casually getting a recording of the TLPD
Lovely video man!
Great video!.... long but great!
The more I learn about Azeroths ancient past and the different forces like the Titans and the Void, the more I feel like world souls are naturally, without any interference from others, elementals that contain all the the element at once. In other words, Azeroth is the avatar.
Bro all we got was one cinimetic between then and now with this guy and we barely know anymore than we did then. Why is everybody so hyped for this guy?
They're not hyped per say. It's just that WoW has had no good villain's since Arthas and everyone is hoping he fills that role for a while.
Because it's not an immediate one-and-done villain that gets introduced and killed within a single expansion
"Plz send help, I've been here for days." Lmfao
long as iridikron dont miss leg day like fyrakk did lol PS i love theses videos i love the lore of warcraft thank you for your research and lore studying keep theses videos comming thanks again happy new year
You know who's the most exciting villain still alive? It's trucking Sargeras. I can't believe how they wrote him off.
From what i've gathered from Blizzcon till now: Tww: Chasing iridikron, opening a portal to the void (he succeeds) - Midnight: Void comes to wreck Azeroth, final patch: azeroth is a titan - TLT: Titans come to azeroth.
It's always really fun to look deep and speculate in rumors, hints, ingame, in books, on forums, but in the end it never comes to the complexity the lore fanbase wants it to be. It's always a blatant and easy plot blizzard chooses.
This is their fault for not including all lore IN THE TRUCKING GAME ITSELF AND part the players fault for expecting too much.
Iridrikon is unlikely to die until TLT, given his entire lifegoal is to make the titans shows up again so he can heem them personally
I can se Iridkron attempting to betray the void or F them over just so he can eventually kill the Titans.
Yea thats his plan, he does everything he can to bait them down to azeroth. He hasnt any allegiance with the Void.
Came for the sponsor video! Always the focal point of the production.
Xal'atath mentioned being sacrificed once. Was Aberrus the altar? The boss room platform looks a bit like the key too.
I think the darkheart as it was said it older version of Dragon Soul. We know dragon soul consumed some power of the apects as a weapon againts legion. So what if darkheart is just like that but it is meant to consume old gods essence. In 10.1.5 Iridikron got the essence of yogg'soran out of Galekrond. And maybe he is going to pandaria in 10.2.7 for the essence of Yash'araj. And Xal'atath dagger has the essence of N'zoth already. So maybe she is just gathering all of the old gods essence and well as their blood to do something. It's most likely she is going to start the midnight void invasion
I believe Iridikron is gonna be "Bringer of Midnight" - and with the Harbinger (Xal) they will bring back a "New Black Empire" somehow, all out OG, Void, Disorder all bad. An army of Nerubians old and new type.
I'm wondering if xal wants to use the essence of galakron on the world soul of azeroth. Basically making it in to a hungering/all consuming world soul. I def also think she could be using some of its power to do the stuff with the nerubians, evolving them or whatever its supposed to be.
24:02 "Her heart is a crater, and we have filled it" So we are a match with kniafu, "A dark heart left broken awaits the taking" and she's waiting for us!!!
With how much stuff Tyr did with infusing dragons with various magical energies, I'm surprised he never infused a bunch with Light magic, like golden/silver radiant dragons with holy laser breath seems like an ideal weapon against Void
Why do I get the feeling that Azeroth is getting pissed off at all the ruckus in her drive way and is gonna wake up and find out.
I’m calling it!
Azeroth is actually twins.
One corrupted and one not yet.
Was it void before they got all the zombie dragon energy? been seeing a lot of "Rune blade" runes around lately. Primus has some explaining to do. That thing has a soul in it for sure.
Runes are not merely connected to domination magic, just for you to know...
It's just one way to tie some kind of magic effect to an Item.
What they're referring to are the specific runes tied to necormancy and fundamentally, to dominion magic. Runes can be used across the board by different magical forces but each of them have their own markings. Its rare to see Blizzard use the language of runes from a particular cosmic force as mere decoration. Its why every new zone or magic type that gets introduced has their own design. Even within the Shadowlands, each of the zones and their population utilises different stylings for their rune workings. If you paid attention throughout Dragonflight, you can see what's Titan related and what's solely the stylings of Dragonkind, with an example given in this video where the sigils surrounding the artifact that Iridikron reveals in the cinematic are quie clearly of Dragonkind design. @@francescoporcari8597
@@francescoporcari8597the concept of a rune blade doesn't NEED to exist though. Not say8ng every example is domination magic, but the increased focus on this stuff does seem to imply a level of importance.
one of the things that really stuck out for me in DiabloII was with the addition of Act five where you face off against Baal and the Archangel Tyreal had to destroy the "World stone." Would be a twist if suddenly the world of warcraft was infiltrated by the demons of hell, Mephisto, Bilile, Baal wondering if he was truly defeated, and having to repell diablo him/herself from the World of Azoroth. And if i'm understanding the lore correctly, Activision/BlizzardEntertainment could have the entire invasion of Diablo end with that similar of "it was just a dream" as while you and the forces defending Azoroth from the invasion it took another instance of the "World Stone" to be destroyed for it all to seemingly disappear without a trace.
Iridikron does call the essence from Galakrond, “A hunger lost to the ages.”
Abberous was not just a distraction. Iridicron sent us there to destroy any chance that he would be imprisioned again. And, we did a pretty good job.
My visions are not like the others... I see the images of the fifth old god: Bell'u-lar.
Thank you for this explanation, it seems interesting.
Really hope theres a huge lore mission line that lets me recap everything. Havent followed the story since WC3 lol
One thing I see no one mentioning. This vessel is very clearly the basis for the dragon soul. It looks similar, and appears to function similarly- collecting the 'the power' of other beings to be repurposed - but appears to be void attuned as opposed to order (which the dragon aspects are infused with at the time he offers the dragon soul to them)
Also, Nelfarion found the vessel and was the creator of the dragon soul. Clearly he got the idea from the vessel and in trying to understand what it did, replicated it.
I think its pretty obvious that Abberus was Xal'lataths prision... She lured Neltherius down to her with whispers, convinced him to steal the vessel from Tyr (my guess is the vessel is what Tyr used to extract and store cosmic powers, probably what the Titan's created to Extract Arcane essence to infuse into the well of eternity), Neltherius then used the vessel to "extract" the essence from Xal'latath, shoved what remained of her into the blade... and unwittingly released that essence into Galkrond creating the monster.... Xal'latath has now convinced Iredikron to steal back her essence, which she now intends to use to infuse the Heart of Azeroth with.
With all this talk about Decay, yes i know this is about Iridikron, Galakrond and Xal'atath. But i wonder what happened in Brackenhide Hollow. as the Decatriarch Wratheye escaped from the battle. We did not kill Her. I wish we could continue to explore that, just because of the Decay.
But all of this is very exciting. I am very invested in this story as it is. Iridikron and Xal'atath has really made me love WoW again.
One other thing to note, that pretty much confirms this. During the time chasing Chromie and Eternus through the broken time ways. There is a "Knowing Presence" that speaks to you saying "
[19:30] Knowing Presence whispers: You will follow him to the deep places. The dark waters will flow in his wake." pretty much sounds like chasing Iridikron into the heart of azeroth as he creates the same tainted waters produced by the old gods to corrupt azeroth. Furthermore this could lead toward the final installment in the world soul saga expansions where iridikron succeeds and it carries on through the midnight expansion until the titans finally have to come back to clean up the corruption.
Also follows up to say "] Knowing Presence whispers: With many eyes, they will see again. They will drink, and be uplifted.
[19:37] Maddening Presence whispers: All that you know will fade.
[19:37] Maddening Presence whispers: Trust is your weakness.
[19:38] Knowing Presence whispers: Deeper, deeper its roots will reach. Welcoming our embrace.
[19:38] Piercing Presence whispers: You have already lost.
[19:38] Knowing Presence whispers: Her dreams sing beneath the surface. Our dreams. Our song.
I don't know if anyone noticed but: in the portal iridicon goes trough an image of Xalatath is visible.
I love that yogg saron is still relevant-ish. I would love to see him pop up again in the future expansions
2:34 "why did i bother recapping that?"
Me: Thats a recap? Thats where i left off xD
The Titan facilities is just a fancy way of saying Extensive Care and Life Support for sleepy Azeroth
Wasnt there a reference in one of the alternate time lines to an Old God that the other Old Gods fed things to? A devourer?
My guess is that we will see both the Primus from Shadowlands and Iridikron again. The Primus had way too cool of a character model to have been a random side character.
Stoked they kept Iridikron in after Dawn of the Infinite. Was hoping for a fourth raid but this is way better. Also wasn't the void elf wizard in the dagger in BFA?
16:45 what is this cinematic? from where is this cutscene?
it's not real, if you watch bellular's lore videos regularly, when talking about events not explored in-game, past or future, confirmed or hypothetical, he has a team that runs a wow private server to create and record those machinima-style cutscenes as a visual aid for the viewer
oh I almost thought you were about to tell us the vessel was another friggin sigil.
editor with these note :D
Let us never forget when Bellular shouted out his own Balls for manscapes sponsorship! Legendary
Maybe Galakrond was infused with the void by Tyr through the trinket. The void consumes and consumes without ever being satisfied, imo the big G was a void infused Proto-drake and they realized the power and size of the void after only a short immediate “whoopsie-daisy” experiment . The rage the void has against order is being reclaimed and The harbinger is now in possession of the Dark Heart and the OG essence of the void that was originally in the trinket.
Nope, you should do more reading. Loken created Galakrond at the behest of Yogg-Saron, Tyr never had anything to do with that. Tyr, in fact, was able to cleanse the water and remove that corruption....... which led to Loken trying to get rid of him.
Maybe YOU should do more reading. The reason for thr corruption of galakrond is still unknown @laertesindeed
@@KC-py5vq False. It has literally already been described in game that Yogg-Saron is the source of the corruption for the water that turned Galakrond into his monstrous form, and Tyr figured out a way to cleanse that water to prevent it happening again.....but since Loken was his supervisor and already in league with Yogg-Saron....he tried to kill Tyr and chased him south, but failed. There is literally no mystery, and no doubt, and no denying it.
@@laertesindeed All your ranting in that other thread about Iridikron being arrogant, but here you are displaying absolute unchecked arrogance yourself.
@@laertesindeed are you an absolute moron? There is zero confirmation on how galakrond turned into what he did lmao.
Love your content!
I think xal’atath is an old god and she was siphoning the old god essence (Yog’saron juice) from Galakrond but it wasn’t enough and that’s why she’s got the nerubians from the new expac gathering old god blood to siphon more into the vessel and maybe get her true form back (her old god form)
What about Azshara? After we saved her in BFA she went throw a void portal. How can that be completely forgotten?
Is that night elf female shadow figure in the bottom right as he walks into the portal the same night elf female related to the void touched armour in SoD?
void elf, (night elf in SoD because blood elves didn't exist in-game yet) and they are both Xal'atath
Final part of the trilogy, we all get in a giant mech and kill the void gods with a galaxy size drill!
After this video, I get more Illidan vibes from Iridikron than actual baddie vibes. Illidan was willing to embrace Fel powers in order to destroy the Legion. Iridikron is willing not necessarily to embrace, but at least use Void powers to destroy the Titans. He seemed to be genuinely disappointed that Vyranoth was no longer with him and their cause.
i am curious if the jailer had his hands in that plotline?
Look at the The Dark Heart and then remember the Heart of Azeroth that Magni had us empowering in BfA, two hearts that look very similar, one titan/light and one void
How long was he on that mountain top in order for the snow to completely incase him?
OK, somebody needs to call the police in Ireland for poor John. Apparently, Michael is holding him captive in the editing studio and making him work to hard. Better yet just call John's union rep. 😆
neltharion just looking like mr.crocodile
Clearly the dark heart is the dark version of the heart of Azeroth that either Xal’atath or someone else made and then hid at the end of the black empires rein. Like you pointed out both items look very similar and think about how we had to constantly feed the heart of Azeroth and it got stronger, also think about how powerful that item was sure it didn’t open portals or whatever else the Dark heart does but it did channel the power of Azeroth to blast away an old god plus the many other things it did for us in BFA.
John. I empathize with you. 👍
Xalatath chilling on the other end of the portal as he goes through, like yeee boi welcome to the dark side we got cookies.
he made a whole in the ground and went in a portal
The Taliessence!
the 'Dark Heart' looks a lot like an evil version of the Heart of Azeroth
Actually it's been stated it's like a dark and more ancient version of the Dragon Soul
Still cannot believe the AAspect kiilled Galakrond somethin else happend there
Iridikron may not care he being used by the Void as tool, as long as he gets what he wants, the destruction of Titans at his hands.
Wild how much staying power *a* final boss in an early Gamecube release who was too strong to ever fight on your own still has. They even kept her name, just spelled it differently. One could make the case that the other two final bosses in that game have also been represented in WoW, but I don't think they have. The lore is going to have to get MORE Lovecraftian, not less!
{edit} I haven't played retail since just before Covid
Blizzard's Writers watching this video: "WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!"
The old god's whispers talk of dark waters and darkness following "him". Everything the old gods have said correlates with everything in the future or what we've already dealt with afterwards.
Ahh yes. The old distraction fire dragon trick.
a corrupted earthwarder dragon? so basically deathwing 2.0?
Iridkron is now made of stone and magic. Gnomes build a weapon that shatters him via high frequency shockwaves, just liike the kidney stone he is.
Main problem in current WOW lore is that the Horde is now a side character in the Alliance story, the Alliance haven’t taken a single big L since the start of BFA, and even now gaining more wins (Malfurion return, re-capture of Gil)
”but Virinoth doesn’t watch BlizzCon [the dumb lizard]” sent me 😂 i actually love how bellular slowly grows more unhinged as the years go by. ”I definitely gave myself brain damage but hope you likes it!” 😆
So galakrond got a void corrupted tap worm in his tummy is what you are saying… ya I could see that.
Heart of Azeroth looks like the vessel :P
sick no ad to interrupt the video five seconds in! just a heads up i skip every ad read. If you'd put them at the end I'd gladly stay and watch them.
28:12 that would be dope idk what youre talking about
LOL would this mean Primordial Saronite is likely Galakrond feces from eating the proto drakes?
Great vid
I’m just here for the rock dragon mount skin
I'd like to see if old gods have actually visage forms ! Lol that would be good
surprise arthas didnt try to revive that dragon instead of singrosa
Wait a second… is the Darkheart just a Heart of Azeroth for the villains? Was Iridikron farming his version of Azerite?
