This Video is perfect for absolutely anyone wanting to work for themselves. Everything he says is what you need. Too many clips of people out there telling you to get a financial adviser. Seriously, do it all yourself. Learn from failing. Great clip mate, looking forward to watching more!
Thanks for tuning in mate and kind words. It’s been a journey think I might do a vlog just over 1 year since I commenced this journey and what I’ve learnt
@Hibrahimandco Please do bud, this video is spot on, no bullshit, right to the point. All the other business dramas come when you start making more money. So, your stuff is gonna help out alot of people wanting to kick off.
Thanks for the video mate. I wish ya luck with the business. I've been a self-employed handyman/gardener in outback Queensland off and on for the past few years. Love it 😁
Good ya bloke! I've been there before, including sub contracting, running my own fabrication business with staff (had poor health so that was the end of that!) & then forced into work I don't really want (but have to, for the money) Last year when I lost my job of 6 years due to a company take over & no fault of my own (it was a desk job) & in small country towns there is very limited work for anyone over 60 so going back to handyman stuff & throwing the nail bag back on was certainly a thought but again, a small country town & am still in debt other wise I would have certainly done it again, though its hard work & often long hours it's very rewarding especially with very appreciative customers! Wishing you the best, attitude is certainly everything!
Thanks for the feedback. I certainly enjoy the work and the hours, but mostly the jobs I get to pick. Thankfully, I get along really well with the real estate company that contract work out to me it’s been a life changing experience. I do still enjoy working as a paramedic, but only on weekends now, and very casually working in the operating theatre when they really short of staff.
Keep up the good work brother, I’m planning to get it all sorted over the next year and move into it. Really good to see someone’s who’s down to earth and actually interested in learning. Can’t wait for the next videos mate I’ll be tuning in 👍👍👍
Thank you for the kind words bro. I 100% applauded u to give it ago if you’re great on the tools. I’ll certainly post another video soon as We settle in Albury and I get my first job there. Keep well
Awesome bro im looking at getting into it as im stay home dad for the past 2 years and I feel I need to get my own going. Thanks for sharing what I can and cannot do as a handyman being in australia. I've always been good at fixing things always thrive to do better as you said there's always room for improvements. Im currently living NW of WA.
I’m in the same boat brotha. I’m a dad of a 3 yr old and my wife is a dr. So juggling life style was always tricky supporting my wife studying. Being your own boss is the best, choose what jobs I want to take on and what ur willing not too. Highly recommend taking the leap. U won’t regret it.
@@rednose1052 just wow. We’re up and moving again for her internship year, got a position in Albury so I will be advertising way more and contacting property agents for possible future maintenance work.
Thanks mate my homie is a plum ber and makes bank. Can’t justify being payed apprentice wages with my well payed other occupations but if I was to choose a trade I’d probs choose electrician then plumber

Great informative video mate. Just curious, with the Construction Induction Training (White Card), is it 6 hours of listening to someone or do you need to complete any work or tests to pass?
Thanks for tuning it mate. From memory it was more of a sit and listen to educator type learning however you have a very basic quiz at the end to determine your safe to work in residential and commercial sites.
Hey mate, this is a toughie because now I get job requests straight from Real Estate agents. I’ve had to move with inflation so I’ve upped my hourly rate to $70, depending who the client is such as Real Estate agents that give me a majority of my work. I keep it at a flat rate of $70 including callout. If I do work for colleagues or close friends only charge $50 or lunch and a drink :) I mean you can charge up to $100 for the first hour as it does cost for travel and where and tear, but it needs to be within a reasonable price if you choose to do so.
@@Hibrahimandco yeah man, I know in qld as a handyman without a builders licence it’s only $3,300 per job, so much less it’s crazy! (Im not a handyman have just worked as one in the past)
Hey mate, I am located in Sydney. Wish can have a cup of coffee with you someday and talking about the handyman business. Please private message me if you want to. Cheers.
