The negative reactions to this made me almost angry. Flawless filming, a basic plot (survive!) and performances that made it feel nauseatingly real-what more do you want from a movie?

The editing and the outer space was cool, but it was kinda a shit movie
Rottentomatoes gave the film a 9,7 and it has 4 golden globe nominations: screen actors guild award nominee, 10 critics choice movie nominations and WINNER THE BEST FILM OF HE YEAR and WINNER ONE OF THE YEARS BEST FILM. It also had a box office of almost 700 milion dollars. So no, you argument is unvalid.
Wizzutje Actually, the word is INvalid. And anyone's opinion on a film is valid, simply because it is an opinion. Personally, I don't care HOW many awards it was up for, or won, visually, it was lovely. BUT the story was so weak, it is almost embarrassing. And I have friends who worked on that film. This was not worthy of the awards it won, but no one could ignore the visuals. But a movie isn't about pretty pictures. If there is no story, it is not a good film.
