1963: "Our harvests are bountiful. Our factories flourish. Our homes are safe. Our defenses are secure."
2021: "Our harvests are corporatized. Our factories rot. Our homes are unaffordable. Our defenses can't stop hackers from interfering with our elections or mobs from invading our capitol."

Nasir Lanier We went from a POTUS who had good ideas who gave good speeches to one who actually got those things done. That doesn’t seem like a step down to me.

4:57 Isn't it ironic that the same hate and division during his administration is what led to his downfall and not seeking re-election in 1968!?

Despite the turmoil that engulfed the nation during those years, there was an air of civility and decorum about the way our leaders conducted themselves in the public arena. Sure, there was plenty of dirty laundry, but it was dealt with behind the scenes. There wasn't the glitzy show-business atmosphere that surrounds politics today. Needless to say, the advent of the internet and social media have changed everything.

LBJ took us to a war in south Vietnam and then he micro managed the bombing campaign bombing bridges and power plants. The bombing campaign should have destroyed the north Vietnam war machine including their ability to plan organize and deploy war materials and soldiers to south Vietnam. Bombing campaign properly managed would have stopped the movement of war materials from North Vietnam into south Vietnam. LBJ failed in this military battle by mis managing this military operation.

He didn’t want Communism to Fall to Southeast Asia that boat thing was a Myth

The U.S. being in that war 9,000 from home was itself micro-managing. In 1957, elections were scheduled for South Vietnam. When the CIA estimated the communists would win, Eisenhower scuttled the elections, which he had no right to do. That started the war.
