Mark: "Uranus is off on its own, as we all know."
Me: (trying to contain my childish sense of humor) cool.
Lol. I just promounce it as “Urinenus” to avoid out of context problems-
Pronounceing it as "yur-ah-nus (UrAHnus)" works. It's slightly different, and doesn't sound the same.
This is almost EXACTLY what I was gonna post as a comment, only to find you already said it.
Me: choosing to watch this video when going to sleep, cuz it's mostly dark
Mark: Zooms straight into the sun
“Okay. Well, supernova aside…”
My new favorite Mark quote
"some crazy scientist who found a way to increase the size and mass of the moon"
*looks at gru*
Imagine just chilling outside and then the fucking sun disappears
Fun fact: you would only learn that the sun disappeared about 8 minutes after it disappeared because of how fast light speed actually is.
Did Markiplier really just get my ADHD ass to sit down and watch him do a whole bunch of crap in space (After watching in space with Markiplier) for almost a whole hour?
Yes. Yes he did.
And I enjoyed every goddamn second of it.
same , if anyone can get me to sit down and watch them just fuck around and thats it for an hour or more its mark
Markiplier should make like a big project or something about space because he seems really passionate about it….. oh wait.
Mark: "we're gonna blow up earth and it will not be pretty..."
*earth go boom*
mark: "oh that's pretty"
Ok we need a podcast of Mark talking about space, because I could listen to his voice for hours
tbh, that would be a bit too *distractable*
Im sorry ill show myself out.
@@louispain7615 that- you deserve a fucking cookie my friend. That was good.
Him ranting about space with like, lofi or some peaceful music- perfect sleep aod
Looking back on this makes me think Mark would be a GREAT science teacher (specially when teaching space) like if he had a class I would join it in seconds
42:04 he said that the sun can go supernova but it cant because its to small
"I put a galaxy on top of Earth" is like taking a grain of sand from one ocean and putting it in a different ocean
Mark hates the dark, empty, unexplored, unknown void of the ocean.
Mark loves the dark, empty, unexplored, unknown void of space
imagine if there were....space sharks flying around shooting fricking lazer beams
There’s no proof that there isn’t a teacup flying around in between Jupiter and Saturn either... but we can say that there probably isn’t
6:50 You said if the sun disappeared, all the planets would continue on a path tangent to their last position "instantaneously" but that would not be the case.
Gravity waves/gravity's influence travels, at the speed of light, so Earth would go off course around 8 minutes after the sun disappeared.
What's interesting about this is that even though Earth would not be orbiting the sun anymore, the farther planets would keep orbiting for more time more, and we'd be able to see that.
I’m not sure if quantum entanglement would have an effect which appears to happen instantaneously
I love science class with Mr Markiplier, it’s just the way he explains it makes it really interesting
Man. Just coming back to this and seeing his passion for space makes me want mark to play outer wilds that much more. I know he has a lot of other games and projects. And it’s a three year old game, but I think if he ever did and I saw that on my subscriptions it’d be a delightful surprise
Mark: **Loves the idea of terraformed Mars**
Also Mark: **Blows up terraformed Mars**
Mark when he sees the emptiness of space: *beautiful*
Mark when he sees the emptiness of the ocean: *THE OCEAN IS DEATH*
Space isn't empty either bro, there's plenty of things that can kill you out there. Most of it's just not alive. THAT'S the only difference.
because we know theres something there that can actively want to prey on us but the space is just nothing
Fun fact: The Suns Texture is actually a picture of beans.
Mark back then:*Uploads a video called 1000 ways to destroy earth*
Mark now:*Creates a masterpiece about 2 people destroying the universe*
Wow what a step up,a planet to an entire universe
When Mark speaks about space, he becomes a poet.
@@LeroyJenkins781 funny u say that lol i watched a man kill himself on a link that i shoudnt of clicked.... and i watched one of his space vids and it calmed me down
I love it when Mark talks about science and space and you can tell he's so genuinely interested and fascinated by it all and you're even learning things from him.
I didn't learn anything because I'm an astronomer but its still cool to see him interested. If I'm gonna be honest though, he only knows the very basics.
Welcome to the Future he has made entire 2nd massive interactive project all about space probably with some references to Universe sandbox 2 / US2
20:46
Me when I'm watching my food warm up in the microwave. Lol.
This is one of my favorite videos. It's very relaxing to see him be himself so thoroughly. No face for the camera, just thinking out loud with genuine reactions.
Tiny Moon: **about to crash into Earth **
NASA: Don’t panic, impact will be minimal
Mark: **returns the moon to normal**
NASA: ****
NASA: OH FU-
Mark the god: lol get rekt
Aliens on Kepler-22b: ooh they’re communicating to us!
Watching Mark play this makes me think about what would've happened if he had pursued a more space related career
29:52 according to my calculations each spit of fire on the new brown dwarf is easily the size of jupiter
Though Mark's destroying our planet, I wish I had a science teacher who explained the solar system like the way Mark does. I would of loved science more then right now.
Mark: “Comes to destroy all of humanity!!!”
Captions: Nope just all of your money.
23:29
Mark: it’s gonna kill us all so…
Let’s see that in slow motion😁
Earth "ahhghhahhggh this burns" mean while markiplier "so coOOoOooool"
Me at 8:28 : Oh that's cute! They're dancing together!
Entire Earth: We're gonna DIEE!!!!
12:40 - Roche limit
Fun fact: in a few million years mars tiny tiny moon phobos will enter the Roche limit and make a ring around the planet, it's not all fun in games as fragments will rain upon the equator, another fun fact is that the mountain sized moon phobos is nearly half the size in thr sky of the moon even tho being tens of times closer and smaller, it's because of how close it is too Mars, phobos btw has an 8 hour orbit
Anyone else wanna hear a National Geographic or discovery narrated by mark?
''-Let's see how can we destroy Earth''
Literally 19min later:
"-Oops, I made the Moon into a Sun..''
In 19 minutes you can fall of the earth in 19 minutes you can have revenge
Mark: let’s just say that there was a mad scientist who
enlarged the moon-
Me: REVERSE GRU
@@Reavyr I mean if a normal sized moon crashed into the earth it would destroy everything so what about a super sized moon
Yeah but imagine there was this mad scientist who turned himself into a-
The gravity of the earth crushing the moon is called the Roche limit
4:50 mark activates the forbidden magic circle
Markiplier: "We're gonna go back in time REEALLY far"
Also Markiplier: Goes back to 1948
I would actually watch a 3 hour stream of Mark just screwing around with this simulation.
3 years later we have in space with Markiplier
10:50 fun fact: each year the moon moves ~1.5 inches AWAY FROM earth; so, in a couple million years it’ll probably be gone
Scientists: the temperature is drastically increasing, turning the moon into a gas giant.
Mark: oh boi were gettin toasty
The moon being torn apart is exactly what will eventually happen to Neptune’s moon, Triton, and in the exact same way
"i could have been an engineer"
he is big brain liking to do little brain shit like throwing stars at things XD
pure nerodivergency at its finest istg
earth litterally getting destroyed by the moon:
Mark: oh wow that fragment is very round!
Throwback to *OH THAT'S SOO COO OO OO OL*
So coooooooool my computer can't handle the rendering oh that's so coooooooool so coooooooool there's nothing I like more than space so let's blow something up here
24:05 Mark literally lagged in real life lol
just by markiplier talking about space it already explains everything i love about it in more complex words. its a perfect mix of scientific and factual speaking and casual "this is my interest" type speaking
but in short
astronomy is fucking awesome
Congratulations you have been selected among three lucky winner's text me on....

The Game Detective Mark has killed all mankind because space is so cool
I cant be the only one who thinks Mark sounds like a really excited astronomy teacher- honestly though, he would make a great teacher
He’s taught me more about space in the first 7 minutes than my 12 years of school 😂😂
🎵 If there was a program for volunteers to go into to space, with like 100% chance of dying from death by space, I would be first in line! If they needed brave volunteers, it stupid volunteers, I would be there so fast! 🎵
Boomers: you won't learn anything in the internet
Markiplier: "became a science teacher"
30:00 _it's a staaaar_
This is actually REALLY cool.
"We are very dead. But what we got... fair trade... is a new moon."
- Markiplier 2018
i feel like im being lectured and entertained at the same time
im lucky enough to have a biology and chemistry teacher like this lol
Me: * turns up my brightness so I can see the video
Mark: *RAPIDLY ZOOMS INTO THE SUN*
Let’s all agree never to let this man be in charge of our solar system
Out of all the planets to destroy, of course Mark picks the one we all fucking live on.
I love how every so often he says something wrong with full confidence.
I will never understand how this man can put me to sleep in seconds just ranting about sleep. Its not boredom cause it also love space. Ive never meet him, but if i ever do- i may just cry.
**sees the video**
Me: now let’s introduce Mr. Iplier
He’s studied astronomy, only talks about destroying the earth rather than ACTUALLY teaching something, takes the whole class for a field trip to outer space
Cruising down in space, watch that nova blowing by...oh shit it’s getting hot, WE ARE All GOING TO DIE!!!
Rest In Peace: Earth
_“We had a good run.”_
Space is cool and the earth is hiding a part of the space so we had to remove it
I think it's beautiful
How I lost the part of me
I need the most
Like I was born to fail
21:50
That’s no moon…it’s a rock
I need a space documentary voiced by mark SO URGENTLY
After watching Mark play this, I’ve always wished that he would do an interview segment with Neil deGrasse Tyson while they both played this game together to demonstrate certain scenarios that they were curious about.
@@chriscarpenter3370 You and I both know Tyson would have just as much interest/fun in crashing 358 Jupiter’s into one another as Mark did. I feel like the cackling and genuineness between the two of them would be an unstoppable force.
Mark: Lets terraform Mars!
*casually doubles the mass*
Seems realistic to me.
Nearly an hour of Mark having fun in universe sandbox is a gift i never knew i wanted
I love when mark starts talking about space, or really anything he's super passionate about. He gets so driven, his mind focused on one concept it's so intense and cool. I also enjoy space and I like to think about what could be hidden in the far reaches of our galaxy. Speaking of which NASA confirmed a black hole only a few lightyears away from us.
It's called hyper-focusing, it's very common and it happens to me all the time uncontrollably, it occurs when someone is performing a task that interests them (Like playing a sandbox game) and they go on for hours just experimenting and frequently ask themselves questions like, "What happens if I do this?" In fact, I'm hyper-focusing right now trying to educate people.
@@skylerwinkel2801 It is growing due to dark energy pushing the very fabric of our universal complex apart. In short, the empty space quarters are the result of dark energy.
@Anime Freak dark energy is just a place holder until we figure out what actually causes the effects we attribute to it. it's really just speculation (although to be entirely fair, just about everything we know about space is speculation)
Imagine this isn’t a game, but instead all of these are separate dimensions and A scientist made you practically a god, without you knowing. So ur basically just mass murdering everyone on earth from other dimensions, but u don’t know because you think it’s a game
Stargate Atlantis had an episode about something like this. Smaller scale, but still good.
**"Terraform" is memtioned**
Markiplier: "Mars?"
i could watch a series of this and i would love it. this is just so interesting to hear someone so passionate talk about their passion.
Mark: So we're going to be playing Universe simulator...
Me: *preps for the eventual Space freakout*
Mark: Tries to educate us on how the solar system works
Accidentally creates a super nova
that's actually pretty easy, to make a supernova, whilst educating on how the solar system works.
At about the 34 minutes mark the water on the earth started disappearing the reason to that is smaller black holes release more radiation proportionally usually causing really small black holes to start heating everything around them from 1000s of degrees to potentially millions
I like how Mark is doing the tried and true "GrayStillPlays" method; when in doubt, add zeroes.
mark: 1000 ways to destroy the earth
2020: write that down WRITE THAT DOWN!
Dear Mr. Fischbach, we regret to inform you that your application for the position of Planetary System Engineer is denied due to a demonstration of gross negligence in simulations. We thank you for your time and wish you luck in your future endeavors.
29:00 proof that things once destroyed can become beautiful again
Mark trying to tera form mars is the same vibe as a chef trying to salvage the meal they're preparing
Hey Mark, please do more of these videos. It is really really nice to hear you talk about something that makes you so awestruck. Also these videos are very calming
Right? These videos are great. Way mlre interesting to listen to than a documentary for example, just because you can hear the enthusiasm and awe shine through in his voice. Even if it’s not quite as informative as a documentary, it’s still really interesting to listen to Mark geek out about this stuff. His incredibly soothing voice on top of that is just a bonus.
There is a VR version I recommend checking it out
mark: the universe is so beautiful isnt it?
also mark: YEAH KILL IT ALL
What I wouldn't give to attend a lecture presented by Markiplier
Markiplier accidentally re-creates how we got the moon
Fun fact about that galaxy thing you talked about in the beginning:
in LA light pollution is so bad that, during a blackout, people called the police because of strange glowing clouds. They saw the galaxis the first time in their entire life.
(stolen from vsauce)
Yea it's really beautiful and makes you wonder if where all alone in this universe
I love how quickly he turns from a giant child to a Harvard teacher in an instant
Seeing the galactic core with the naked eye is extremely difficult for most people, simply due to the amount of travel required to reach a good spot for it. However, most modern smartphones are plenty capable of making what can't be seen actually visible. Lower your exposure, max out the exposure time, mount to a tripod, point to the northeastern sky (if you're in the northern hemisphere), and try taking a photo. Some travel may be required, but for most people, nowhere near as much as you'd need to see it without the assistance of a camera. Play around with it. Have fun.
