Na prikope (Na Příkopě) is a street in the center of Prague, Czech Republic, connecting Wenceslas Square with Republic Square.
It separates the Old Town from the New Town. It is a place of representative buildings, including the headquarters of the Czech National Bank, old palaces, and luxurious shops.
Na Příkopě Street leads to the site of the former 10-meter-wide and 8-meter-deep moat from 1234, which led along the medieval walls of the Old Town. Water flowed directly from the Vltava River, and when the moat was filled, the Old Town formed a closed island. The moat was covered in 1760. After wrapping, chestnut trees were planted here, and the street was named Ve starých alejích (In old alleys). In 1845-70, the street was named Kolowratská třída, and since 1871, it has bears the name Na Příkopě.
Because it was one of the few vast streets in Prague, it soon became a traffic artery. Since 1875, the first line of the Prague horse-drawn tram has been led here, and it has been electrified since 1899. In 1919, Můstek became the first intersection in Prague controlled by a traffic policeman. In 1927, the second intersection with the light signaling occurred. Many new stores appeared on the street, and it became an important business center of Prague's promenade.

Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí)
This Square is the commercial and administrative center of the city as well as the site of important social and historical events. You'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centers here. The Square was created during the founding of the New Town by Charles IV in 1348. Today, it is dominated by the National Museum (1885 - 1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek's statue of the national patron, St Wenceslas, from 1912.

The Head of Franz Kafka (Hlava Franze Kafky), also known as the Statue of Kafka, is an outdoor sculpture by David Černý depicting Bohemian German-language writer Franz Kafka, installed outside the Quadrio shopping center in Prague, Czech Republic. The kinetic sculpture is 11 meters tall and made of 42 rotating panels. Each layer is mechanized and rotates individually.

Dělám to poměrně často, tento kanál není o architektuře, ale o životě města jako celku. Natáčím panoramata města.
@@PerceptionPhilosophy A to je chyba. Chodník , silnici a zaparkovaná auta si natočí každý i před svým domem. Do Prahy se nechodí kvůli zaparkovaným autům, ale kvůli historii města, která se fyzicky odráží v poezii architektury a sochařství. Jak to píše Baudelaire : ,,už jen procházka po ulicích, kde z každého nároží na Vás kouká nějaký svatý patron, pradávný chrlič, mytologická postava z kašny… nutí člověka při této procházce města po kultivaci ducha. “ Zabírání zaparkovaných aut člověka spíš unaví. Nejde o panorama, ale spočinutí na kráse a detailech Prahy. Je to jako jít do muzea a natáčet místo umění dav turistů! Praha je galerie.
Pak si najděte historický kanál. Nebudu se urážet. Tady je to jen procházka, kde musíte jít po chodníku a kolem aut, abyste pak něco viděli, stejně jako v životě. 🖐️😊
@@PerceptionPhilosophy A to je o ničem. Tak jako v životě, který vyplňují z 99% jen blbosti. Jde jen o to to poznat. Vám to dáno poznat není. No když 80% kompozice u vás zabírají auta, chodník, silnice a táhnoucího se stádo bezduchých turistů, tak vidíte přece jen tuto vatu. Škoda, že se nechcete poučit a setrváváte ve své připečeností.

Thank you for showing us the back streets to the Cubistic street light and Kafka’s head. Is the OC Quadrio a part of department store Máj? Máj seems to be under a reconstruction for a long time. Have you been in the Paulinky store? I discovered it last year and bought nice catholic calendars there.
These two shopping centres have different owners, even though they were connected by doors inside. I think it will be the same after the reconstruction. As you remember, in Prague it's not uncommon for different shops to merge into one gallery. 🖐️I don't know about Catholic calendars, I'm an atheist according to Czech tradition. 🤣❤️❤️❤️

I don't think i visited this part of thr city. I mainly visited the historic center, castle, famous bridge, kafka' s monument etc. I was nervous then , worried about family in my country , I was still going to Russia...I must get back.
