Report: (edited due to length) On November 9, 2024, Trooper Gonten, Trooper Williams and I were conducting a sobriety checkpoint on County Road 69 at the old County Quarry. A silver SUV came down the hill traveling southbound toward the checkpoint but stopped in the road approximately 100 yards away. The silver SUV began to back up the hill traveling northbound in the southbound lane. As I began to get into my patrol unit, the SUV turned around at the bottom of a hillcrest. As I topped the hillcrest, I observed the SUV crossing the center yellow line, on a left-hand curve, traveling northbound. I activated my emergency lights at the intersection of County Road 69 and Old Military. The silver SUV made a left turn onto Old Military. At this time, the vehicle was traveling westbound, at a low rate of speed. The driver was sitting up on the center console area and reaching over into the passenger seat area. When the driver returned to the driver’s seat, I performed a tactical vehicle intervention to stop the vehicle before it was able to reach a higher speed. The TVI was successful in stopping the vehicle but was able to recover. Trooper Gonten took lead in the pursuit, and I became the second unit. Trooper Gonten called out just south of County Road 69 that the driver had thrown something from the vehicle. I called it out and Trooper Williams, who was behind me, noted on the radio the item thrown from the vehicle was black and had landed on the center yellow line. As the SUV attempted to turn onto County Road 69 the driver began to lose control and ran off the road, recovering and then re-entering the roadway. Speeds during this time reached over 70 MPH- as we traveled northbound on State Highway 5 past the soccer complex. The driver, again, was hanging out the window, driving very erratically and crossing the centerline with oncoming traffic. As a result of the suspect’s reckless driving- the oncoming traffic was forced to drive on the shoulder of their lane to avoid collision with the silver SUV. The suspect began to climb out the driver side window, in attempt to flee. Trooper Williams exited his patrol unit and held the suspect at gun point. When the suspect began to attempt to get back into the driver’s seat, Trooper Williams and I removed the suspect from the vehicle. The suspect was intentionally grounded by Trooper Williams and I. The suspect was still fighting and would not submit to arrest, continually attempting to keep his arms under his body. As we were able to get one arm out the suspect would attempt to roll over. In order to place handcuffs- Trooper Gonten, Trooper Williams and I all had to restrain the suspect. The suspect was then identified as Nicholas Koskinen and was checked out by BRMC ambulance, he refused treatment. Located in the passenger floorboard was a large glass jar containing marijuana, two edible gummies and a rubber container of THC wax. In the suspects hoodie, located in the driver seat, was a used syringe. The item the suspect threw out the window was located, by Trooper Gonten and myself, on the side of the road across from address 5329 Highway 5 south which was a black plastic baggie with the following items inside: a plastic baggie with 5 capsule type pills and a white plastic case. Inside the case was two more plastic baggies, one containing 2 more capsules. The capsules had a white powdered type of substance that appeared to be fentanyl. The other baggie contained a dark purplish square item being an unknown substance. 5-65-105 Driving DWI Suspended A Misdemeanor 27-22-104(a)(2) Failure to present insurance unclassified Misdemeanor 27-37-702 No seat belt unclassified Misdemeanor 27-50-302(a)(2) Reckless driving A Misdemeanor 5-64-419(b)(5)(A) Possession controlled substance sch 6 A Misdemeanor 5-64-443(a)(1) Possession drug paraphernalia A Misdemeanor 5-64-443(a)(2) Possession drug paraphernalia meth D Felony 5-64-419(b)(1)(A) Possession controlled substance meth D Felony 5-73-102 Possession instrument of crime A Misdemeanor 5-65-103 DWI 2nd drugs 5-54-125 (d)(3) 2023 Fleeing felony vehicle D Felony 5-54-103(a) Resisting arrest A Misdemeanor 5-64-421(b)(3) Possession of fentanyl with purpose to deliver A Felony

Years ago, I came up on a DUI checkpoint while on my way home. Not realizing what it was, & thinking the road was blocked by a wreck or something, I turned around to find another route. Not an eighth mile away, I was stopped by a rather suspicious Dallas cop. I explained my reason for turning around, answered his questions, let him do a quick search of my car, & he laughed with me about the Baptist Youth Minister getting pulled over for avoiding a DUI checkpoint. Amazingly, I wasn't subjected to a TVI, cuffed, arrested, charged... Almost like running from the cops is a mistake.
Was that a Dodge Charger or Challenger this fine winner in life was fleeing in? Oh, a Honda POS you say. That explains how they caught up to him so easily. 😂
The man's vocabulary seems to fit perfectly with his actions. How sad that having grown to manhood, this is the result. I'm not uncaring, unfeeling or harsh .... I'm just saying that in such cases, people are pretty much responsible for the outcome of their offspring. I'd say that the upbringing of this guy somehow failed him miserably .... and here's the proof. The saddest part of it is, there are far too many such cases. Great job and thanks to troopers and all law enforcement involved in keeping society safe.
I wonder if to get a license in Arkansas you need to understand the penalty for fleeing from the police , if the knew it was a felony along with a stay in prison there's a chance they might not do it !
Total respect for the ASP but, I sure wish they'd figure out to always get their cameras pointed at the perp when they have them stopped. The audio is good but, would still like to watch when the troopers 'assist' the perp during the arrest!

@@LesCunliffeThe title would of included, "Driver Ejected."
We are so blessed with such "pieces of work". Great Job!!!! ASP!!!
Hey like bro we know you are sorry , no need to remind us .
"Never Give Up" ASP favorite saying!
Can't the police tell that he's trying to find a safe spot to pull over? 😝
LOL 😆.
😂😂😂😂
🤣
Inconsiderate officers! How dare they!
Don't be suspicious song fits here perfectly
DA is on bond SMHH the big house is calling
Bravo ASP 💙💙💙that’s team work
So far as i cam tell, this is an illegal checkpoint. There must be signage and there must be at least one way to turn before the checkpoint. Thos is basic supreme court rulings.
Made it, Ma! Top of the world!
Menace to Society.
Good movie!
Video description is confusing. It's not the white SUV in the foreground that turned around. It was the silver one.
DII vs felony fleeing. Smart guy. Plus insurance won’t pay for damage to his suv. Love it
And I always thought meth, weed and alcohol promoted rational thinking!?!?
😂😂😂
That Honda SUV is a true champion. Ditch proof and crash worthy.
Dis guy was hilarious lol Apparently he thought the ASP was playing games with him. Clearly he seems high on something.
Excellent teamwork! And that "sorry boss" tells me he's been in prison before.
He thinks if he looks at them sternly they'll turn around?
How scarey
I would like to know how he got the money to buy all these drugs! By the look of him, he probably was dealing drugs or maybe theft.
Guy needs to be in prison as he is a Danger to Society. The DAs and judges are pathetic and should be charged with failure to do their job!
LOL at the hillbilly frantically waving out the window. I think that's the universal sign for "Back off! That's my cousin, not yours"!
"If anyone gonna be sleepin with my sister, it's gon' be ME!"
There is something different about this driver.
I can't figure it out
A quiet dignity...
Tack on 1 year Community service for Every Mile you Fail to pull over get some free city labor outta these fools
For all the people who cry when they do high speed pits, this is why they usually don't do at lower speeds as they don't always work.
Those seats look super comfy for those detained and arrested!
I just love the way these ASP Troopers don't take any shlt from these perps!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Apparently the driver doesn't watch this channel.
Those idiots just don't get it..! They should know better than to run away from Arkansas State Troopers. They are the best of the best..!
At least don't try to run in a POS Honda! 😅
Methaniel "I wuz scared"
I thought it was Methew ?
😂😂
With that hot rod vehicle and sweet driving skills, I can’t believe they caught him😂
😂😂😂
Was that a Dodge Charger or Challenger this fine winner in life was fleeing in? Oh, a Honda POS you say. That explains how they caught up to him so easily. 😂
Jethro Toll
You can always count on an Arkansas trooper!❤
legend is he’s still asking to have the cuffs loosened.
He didn’t look too scared when he was hanging out the window being a smart a*se! Amazing how the story changes once they’ve been caught!!
Nice job!!!
First time I've heard agonal breathing without a shot being fired.
What a great way to support your local Dollar General.....lol
He was just waving hello...............
5:26 - The most business DG has ever had.
Sirens should not function when in park!
I wonder if to get a license in Arkansas you need to understand the penalty for fleeing from the police , if the knew it was a felony along with a stay in prison there's a chance they might not do it !
I think the drugs and alcohol make them forget any useful information.
@enid0mom or they just don't care or think they can get away !
These kinds of people never think about consequences. That is their second mistake. Never thinking is their first mistake.
I will NEVER go through a check point again! What a waste of $$$$$.
Avoiding a DUI checkpoint isn't a crime. Fleeing from police who you definitely got the attention of for avoiding it damn sure is
Total respect for the ASP but, I sure wish they'd figure out to always get their cameras pointed at the perp when they have them stopped. The audio is good but, would still like to watch when the troopers 'assist' the perp during the arrest!
I wouldn't want the perp to get away on foot while the trooper is repositioning his vehicle or camera just so we could watch. Priorities.
@@289Mustang67 You thought I was serious?
Need cameras pointing every direction on each car 😊
Really??? 😅😅😅
How to make things exponentially worse.
Jesus. They'll never see me turn around right in front of them.
Honestly the fleeing is nothing compared to the fentanyl. Apparently class A felonies are 6-30 years in prison in Arkansas.
those cops caused $1000 worth of improvements to that beater SUV
More than that. His suspension is straight up wacked!
Thats the kind of car you need to drive in a chase pitted 3 times and still ready to go again ! What was that a honda ?
So since police arrest people for cussing and call it disorderly conduct...so since i see 100% of police cussing, are they breaking the law too?
You were arrested for being loud and obnoxious weren't you.
In Arkansas no one can hear the mailboxes scream! No! No!! NOOOO!!! Whew! 😧😥
Troopers, I do not think that this guy will give you a 10/10 on the ASP Feedback. I say, well done!
😂😂
