They made memories that I won’t forget and also made it feel so much more like a friendship! I hope this helps in some way

You need a reading nook in your bedroom! Comfy chair, big, fuzzy blanket, bookshelf, small table for your drink . . . . That area looks perfect for it!
For your BBBS role, I'd bring things you love in your car such as nail polishes, games, cards, sports equip- basketball, paddles, bikes, etc. Usually there are listings too for free things to do around town - art installs, special events, best spots around town and then create a bucket list.
I love a good Neal appearance in a blog! Aww so nice of him to gift you guys the plant and planter! And he helped you carry the couch upstairs! 😊❤ Maybe the couch can go into the man cave downstairs. And LOVE your Lulus haul! They def did a great job curating the perfect pieces for you. 🎉

For the couch option in the Clancy room--what about a futon? It would be a simpler option for fitting thru the doorway and some futons I've been seeing lately are pretty classy. The other option might be a chaise lounge, whether in a modern style or in a vintage style. Just be sure to measure the doorframe width first before clicking the buy button!
I think the library sounds like such a fun idea. Maybe talk to her about what type of books she might be interested in. Ask her what she enjoys to do, but I’m sure kids can get uncomfortable with always coming up with plans. Possibly finding a part time job could be something that could ease you back into the cooperate world. And give you enough time with your little because I cannot stress this enough, it’s so disappointing to a child to have a big sister dump them. Hope it all works out great!
I can totally relate to Neals story. My daughter would do something that maybe she shouldn’t. One part of me would be desperately not laughing and the mum side of me would be saying no we don’t do or say that 😂 xx
I’ve been a “Big” for 6 years. We get together on Saturdays and go to craft classes, plays, parks, sporting events, swimming, and even volunteer together. We’ve had so much fun, and are always on the lookout for the next adventure!

Detroit offers free and low cost admission for local residents. I’m sure your city does the same. Thrifting is also really in for a lot of teens. Hope that helps ❤️

There's a way to get the couch in the Clancy room. 1. Stand the couch on one end with the back of it facing into the room (if you were looking from the top down, it should look like a v, with the bottom of the V facing the side the door is on) One person should be IN the room, one person outside to make this part easier. 2. Pivot the back of the couch into the room, Note that it will be tight and you'll have to work it into the room, but it WILL make it into the room. 3. Set up the couch where you'd like it in the Clancy Room. If I didn't have a sectional couch, I'd get my husband to help me videotape how it's done to send you! Moved more than a couple of couches into tight spaces in my life.
Also, I just checked, there are TH-cam videos demonstrating this method! Check them out. You WILL have a couch (loveseat) in the Clancy Room! Search getting a couch through a small door!
The zoo, aquarium, roller skating! I am not sure you can drive them, so that might be a barrier to some places. Free events around the city. There are often blogs you can follow that share what’s going on around town! I work at BBBS camp every summer for a specific week so happy to see you giving back to a great org!
Ideas to do with your little sister: go on a picnic, the movies, going to paint pottery, going to get hot chocolate in the winter time! Also question, how many drops do you use of the isle of paradise tanner do you use?
You could do a mini book club with your little if she likes to read :) you could see the Barbie movie, go to museums/zoo, cook together, play games together, garden, paint, etc! Just some ideas and I know it depends on what she likes!

I think that is so awesome you are giving time to influence and mentor a younger generation. I did the same and it really was an amazing experience. I found out what my little sister liked and went from there. We attended local festivals, there is a music museum in my city, that had interactive activities and that was fun. We explored trendy areas, tried new foods, we packed a healthy lunch and took a little road trip to a gorgeous town with amazing scenic views and did a little hike. There is so much opportunity there. Have fun!

Before you said comfy chair, I was thinking about a chair that maybe swivels (that’s comfy) w a large plant/tree behind it w either a low bookcase for under the window, or a taller one across and maybe a cute rug to separate the area from the bedroom? The only other thing would be 2 chairs and a little table in the middle…but I definitely think a tree would look amazing there bc of all the trees out back and it’ll bring that pop of color into the space. I would do a fake one tho….less stress lol oh and maybe some twinkle lights on it too…and some ceiling to floor soft, light color drapes (you could always get black out shades that pull down)

Fifteen year olds haven't experienced lots ot things so they don't know what they like. Try bowling, ice skating, art museum, Krohn conservatory, tour Findlay Market, paint pottery. if she is into handcrafted stuff take her on the Rookwood Pottery tour. Cincinnati zoo, tour the Freedom Center. I think it is also great to share things you enjoy like the library. She might not love the library but she might also love it. Its good to see Neal on the vlog. The plant was a very thoughtful gift.
Get a futon for your office. It’ll double as an extra sleep space if you have lots of guests…or a “bed” for Leland next time. Swimming could be a fun activity with your little. Maybe at a YMCA if you have one local. Maybe your dad could build a built in reading nook in your bedroom.
I wonder if you took the entire door off the Clancy room if you could get your love seat in. I've had to do this several times. Its easy to do....and Neal could easily help.
Would love to see a shoe shopping haul. I think it would be fun for you to expand your choices now that you have so many new pieces to wear. Something other than just the white sandals.
CINCY has some really great art museums that are free or pretty low cost. There are a lot of great places to try as well. If you’ve never been to Snieder’s Candy Shop in Bellevue, Ky that would be a good experience. Same family owns Sweet Tooth in Newport. Volunteer at a local nursing home with activities together.

Regarding the job I’m not sure if you’ve heard from them or not but my boyfriend actually applied for a job in March of 2022 and did not receive any sort of communication from anybody until 2023. That had happened to him for many jobs (thankfully he found an amazing job later in 2022 that didn’t ghost him lol) where there was no sort of communication for MONTHS
I’m assuming you e thought of this but do the legs/feet idk what they’re called lol come off the couch so they can go in the office? Or maybe if you take off the door will that make it more spacious to let the couch in?

Use soapy water & a squeegee to lay that contact paper. My fiancé wraps cars, walls, & other stuff for work.

Swimming could be a fun activity with your little. Maybe at a YMCA if you have one local.
Maybe your dad could build a built in reading nook in your bedroom.
I wonder if you took the entire door off the Clancy room if you could get your love seat in. I've had to do this several times. Its easy to do....and Neal could easily help.

CINCY has some really great art museums that are free or pretty low cost. There are a lot of great places to try as well. If you’ve never been to Snieder’s Candy Shop in Bellevue, Ky that would be a good experience. Same family owns Sweet Tooth in Newport. Volunteer at a local nursing home with activities together.

Regarding the job I’m not sure if you’ve heard from them or not but my boyfriend actually applied for a job in March of 2022 and did not receive any sort of communication from anybody until 2023. That had happened to him for many jobs (thankfully he found an amazing job later in 2022 that didn’t ghost him lol) where there was no sort of communication for MONTHS
I’m assuming you e thought of this but do the legs/feet idk what they’re called lol come off the couch so they can go in the office?
Or maybe if you take off the door will that make it more spacious to let the couch in?
Try taking the doors off the hinges and the feet off the couch! They might fit then
