And in Inquisition they were humanized for easier facial recognition and the developmers didn't want to do any extra work

When they moved to the upgraded to the upgraded frostbite they had more freedom so they radically redesigned them and everything else. The world of thedas showed a number of them and so did a lot of other concepts were most had human features. You could make some uglier ones in dai more in line with dragon age 2 but most people aren't going to do that lol
Remember when Qunari were an actual unknown threat? When mages could cast devastating magic? When Dark Spawn were a nigh unbeatable force? When serious storylines were taken seriously and not laughed about like a 'serious Marvel movie'?
Wait his a quari, I thought he just a black guy cosplaying with some horns. I really thought his whole look was part of his costume and it was just a normal human beneath. Anyways only played inquisition, I personally thought the story was nonsense didn't care for it, so wasn't really paying attention to a lot of things in it but this seems like this is worst, love the bright colors though, everything about this game is so superficial lol

@@cavedon.felipe Are you asking if they didn't have money for 2 or if they did for 4? For the former, money and time was why 2 seemed so small and copy-and-paste, for the latter, Legendary Edition gave them quite a bit of ransom to spend on upcoming games.
DA 2 primarily suffered from bad gameplay, but the writing wasn't bad at all. Good story, bad execution with level design / mechanics and a rushed game with a lot of cuts. THIS though, is just an insult to the entire series. I thought Inquisition was lacking soul but this makes it look stellar by comparison.

They might not write their games entirely by themselves anymore. They could rely on investors, and the investors want consultants to write the story and design key parts of the game so that it is as safe a bet as possible that they will get a return on their investment. Dark, gritty stories with a ton of exposition usually only attract adult male gamers. They want their game to be purchased by as many people as possible, so they're told to make it a certain way to appeal more to women and children. It's also easier and cheaper to make characters look more cartoony and less realistic. Those are just my thoughts and it could just be that since BioWare has lost a lot of their old employees, their new leadership thinks cartoony wacky goofy characters with marvel movie dialog is cool or something. Idk.

Say what you will about the trailer, but Loghain hung Cailen out to dry. The Fereldans had a tactical advantage in that fight with the Ostagar cliffs providing ample defense and instead of making full use of the terrain, they sent the Mabaris and footmen to get slaughtered down on the field. It could have been an absolute shooting gallery if they had utilized the pinch points at their disposal. The Tower of Ishal could have been easily defended if the troops had been deployed intelligently. Loghain is a traitor, through and through.

Hmmmm. one of the key complaints coming out of the direction D&D is going in is the increasing infantalization of the material. Im seeing the same here. The first Dragon age (and still the best) was a gritty, dark, blood soaked thing. It was full of despair, death. It was practically grim dark fantasy. Whereas this looks like Disney vomited on it. Cant say Im excited by the creative choices on display

Say what you will about the trailer, but Loghain hung Cailen out to dry. The Fereldans had a tactical advantage in that fight with the Ostagar cliffs providing ample defense and instead of making full use of the terrain, they sent the Mabaris and footmen to get slaughtered down on the field. It could have been an absolute shooting gallery if they had utilized the pinch points at their disposal. The Tower of Ishal could have been easily defended if the troops had been deployed intelligently. Loghain is a traitor, through and through.

I felt a great disturbance on TH-cam, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in excitement and were suddenly disappointed. I fear something terrible has happened.
