@@charlesbosher6719 Yes but Ricky's always stirring. He's a stirrer is that Gervais.
I truly enjoy hearing Stephen Merchant any time he speaks. Not only is he a great storyteller, but his brilliance in articulation and expansive vocabulary add to the experience.
It’s good… but it’s not quite like nicking food from telephone boxes...
Nobody will ever match Karl’s dad. One of a kind

This comment section makes me feel less alone. Ahh I miss the Xfm days 😌
Money for old rope

He still wanted that 50p... even after being given the concert tickets and the lager!
Did he even bother going?
He's done you again.

The glasses touched his eyes
Like I said before, most comedians have families and friends who are funny. The comedians are observant and have good memory. The real funny people are other people they know.
Big eyes?
Yeah he's over there.
Steve's dad had a walk-on part in The Office. Fact.
I'm not interested, but which episode?
The comic relief one I think, and certainly Ep 6 of season 1
2 walk on parts.
R M anytime that random janitor appears in overalls staring at the camera. That’s his dad.
And a cameo in cemetery junction
Thanks for posting.
Have you seen men in Black 2?
there's this thing in it..
@@steventagg it could be your brother
I wish Steve, Karl and Ricki would make a new podcast xx
Steve wasn't involved with the David Brent movie which is why it was so terrible
1:26 I am glad Orlando asked that question 😂😂😂
1:41. I like the camerman take a good shot of Graham Norton 😂😂😂
stephen- play a record
stephen’s dad- play an album
Stephen's wit is an absolute delight
That reply at the end was Savage 🤣
2:08 Super cringe Orlando Bloom Ali G “clap” at the end 😫
Pilkboys represent
1:26. Haha I like Orlando Bloom asked that question
Anyone listening to the KP podcasts knew this already
1:40 Tooth Fairy is a movie that both Stephen and Dwyane is in . 2010 movie
NIce little Extras reunion there.
0:10 Stephen was not expecting that from Graham
Stephen Merchant is always a riot!
Tell me someone in the UK has been to Flambards as well?!?!
Lee Warner I been there, its brillaint! They have a world war 2 museum if i remember correctly
This actually made me very sad!
None of that happened
1:25. Orlando get to ask question again after he didn't get to ask earlier. About whether is he an accountant ?
“It’s only 50p Steve”
As a Portal 2 fan, it's impossible for me to hear his voice without thinking of Wheatley, haha.
Same. It’s so hard to not think of Wheatley because Stephen didn’t even have to do a voice for Wheatley, he just talked normally.
that s explains the atm story.
I like Stephen more than Ricky. Very quick witted too.
Can't afford a camera or a TV but can afford a holiday in Greece.hmm
0:09 Is he an accountant

Thanks stephen....
Very funny!

How stingy IS Stephen Merchant?
That's kinda messed up though :)
god I hope his dad is no longer with this world so he didn't have to watch his son rip him to pieces on national tv
Just pee in my knickers.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
His accent sounds Irish, for an Englishman.
hi there, not irish he is actually from the south west of England where I am from. He grew up in Bristol. we kind of sound like farmers/pirates.....unfortunately.
Wait a minute.......................................tooth fairies have wives? o_O
Steve Merchant > KP > Ricky Gervais
As much as I respect Ricky G’s talent. He’s not half as funny as Stephen and he’s twice as arrogant. If Ricky wants another hit like ‘The Office’ he needs Stephen to clear his schedule. They just work better together.
Ricky is very arrogant ,I don't like him at all
The fact that every comment here is related to the xfm days made me smile
hmm...it does but then i think it's sad really considering the possible circumstances of them falling out with each other. neither of the 3 mention each other, ricky brushes off answering questions about falling out. they don't plug each others things. ricky's revisionist history "when I created the office" rather than "When me and stephen merchant created the office" among other things. I long for the xfm days....
@@ISetYourFaceOnFire True. Btw, Ricky is the major dick in this story, i assume.
@@ISetYourFaceOnFire All rumours mate. In recent interviews, Ricky has specifically stated that they haven't fallen out and they just think that nothing they could do in the future will be as funny as what they've already done. I personally agree but it would still be funny enough.
KP still owes him 50p
Bullshit. He gave him those beers.
And gave him those tickets to the concert
That Stephen never even went too.
Karl kept that 50p to compensate for the last minute editing out of all the effin and geoffin on Steve's hip hop hurray cd
Eyes bulging with imagined riches...
alright mate don't have a go at the eyes, cos that's a stigmatism he's had since the age of 5
I was just about to leave the same comment.
McSuperfly was referencing the XFM Show Ricky Gervais hosted with Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington. An article said that about his eyes from an interview.
and James was referencing S02E05 of The Office.
Ohhhh what is wrong with him.
Look at the gleam on that

Could have been a trowel.

The only reason you don't go on holiday is because you have to spend money!
“Never forgot, son”
“I don’t remember, dad”
I love the story about how his father only bought one life jacket when they were on a boat
Ryan Dutton I always get the impression that Steve embellishes a lot of his stories
@@cathalmurphy1159 As lots of actors and writers do
@@cathalmurphy1159 you are delusional then
For me that's always the first story that comes to mind when Steve's dad is brought up! _"Aaargh, the boat be mine, or I'll take yer son."_
His voice never gets old.
- a Portal 2 fan
I love Wheatley!
@Maow_&_SourPatchKids my brother, he's 7
According to the laws of the sea son he could claim our boat😂
Ayeee the ship be mine
Stephen is such a relaxed comedian who draws you in leaving you wanting more.
"Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves."
Human Smith easy to remember, good advice
Funny how this story never came up when he was having a go at Karl's dad for nicking bread out of phone boxes.
In his village of 8 people
To be fair though, he spoke about how his father waited for his grandfather to die so he could get his jacket instead of buying a new one.
@@tipperary1082 Steve: "I'm waiting for it now"

@@h0lly_blue he never says it normally, he either screams it or stammers it in a given-up tone lol
Does anyone else think that Steve is way funnier and much more likeable the Ricky?
Steve is much more naturally whitty. Ricky is a better and more versatile actor, which is good for tv/movies but also stand up.
Ooh! Das lanky pissenstreak!
Das freaken goggle eye.
He must do more films. He's so funny in every role. Just his face is enough.
Steve was the brains behind The Office, as Rick’s garbage output over the last fifteen years has proved.

‘To see at night as well as an owl you would need eyes as big as grapefruits. If only Stephen could turn his head right around as well...’
I think Orlando thought he was serious about his dad watching TV through the neighbour's window lol
One of my favorite underrated comedian/personality
I still can't believe he stole money from that ATM when someone left their card in it by mistake...
Think of all those tickets Karl got for Steve that he couldn't be bothered to turn up for
And the crate of beer…
Tbh, if they were going on holiday to Greece, he definitely was well off. My first holiday, was when I was an adult. But the joke was having me laughing
The way he says thieving bastards 👌
At least my dad is not stealing from a phone box, Karl!
Steve's a legend
Eyes buldging with imagined riches
watched arrival at the cinema with Stephen merchant sat in front of me. I never appreciated how tall he is.
what looked weirder him or the aliens
It’s the eyes
Smerch is so awsome :D adorable ... Stop being cute damn it
even mr bloom is like " the eyes... steve is an odd lookin bloke "
fistingendakenny I think he's a nice looking guy.
You get used to it.
At least he's not sleeping in a dingy.
next door to the woman whose mam was a witch
He’s terrified of flooding
Sleeping in a rubber dingy to subsidise for the cost of having 2 TV's, 1 for picture 1 for sound
It’s not out of the question that you might have a very minor case of serious brain damage.
ItsAsum
It don’t be alarmed. Although if you do feel alarmed, try to hold onto that feeling because that is the proper reaction to being told that you’ve got brain damage
As much as I find Stephen Merchant interesting, I hate Portal 2 a lot!
1:23. I like how Graham listened to his guest clearly and with enthusiasm
To see at night as well as an owl, you would need eyes the size of grapefruits.
If only Stephen could turn his head right round as well.
I do not understand a single comment underneath this video. It's like a whole community inside-joke. I don't mind it, I like it, and I want in on it.
Love Smerch, love the direction hes took with his career.
Appearing in awful American comedies and doing a voice in Sherlock Gnomes. Mmmmmkay
What, trying to follow in Ricky Gervais' success in America and falling flat.. Yeah me too.
he should stick to voice acting, going solo was the worst decision he could have made!
He has a warped ego and air of self entitlement surrounding him though. Of course it was going to fail but he was inevitably going to try.
If 'falling flat' is being in America's biggest TV show and having a big part in one of the best and biggest movies of last year (Logan), here's hoping I fall flat myself.
I love all 3 (Ricky, Karl and Steve) but Ricky's fans shouldn't forget that Steve's input elevated everything Ricky did and the projects he's done without Steve all seemed to be missing something
There are so many good references here.

Is it just me or does Steve's accent sound thicker here than usual?
Hes starting to sound a bit american
Only Graham can make the word "responsible" into a two syllable word.
Eyes that pop outta their head...............Steve
I’m speaking in an accent that is beyond her range of hearing
Do you think his father should have got it engraved?
1:42. Tooth Fairy is something that Graham Norton associate maybe? That's why he laughed 😂😂😂😂😂
And Steve gives Karl shit about his parents lol 😂
