    Hi Rod. The radio is coming along nicely. Philips used to do some unusual things on some of their sets, and I think that they made the tuning selection mechanism more complicated than it needed to be. Why they didn't use the clutch system ( like Grundig) is beyond me. Again another enjoyable video. Cheers Chris.

    Strange that cleaning and lubricating behind the flywheel didn't make it move from AM to FM tuning.
    Could it be something down at the piano-keys that is stuck or worn out?
    There must be some link between the keys that you push and that plate that moves back and forth between AM and FM dial strings.

      Hi Geir,
      It's when moving from FM to AM that the plate doesn't slide back. Selecting FM actuates a wire cable connected to the plate which is hinged on an eccentric swivel pulling the plate in one direction. When any other band is selected the cable is released and a spring should pull the plate back. Even though I fitted a stronger spring it is still sticking, but at this stage I am inclined to let it be.
