Artimus Pyle was the drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd and this is his band. Artimus is the one who pulled them out of the plane crash. He is sitting at a table to the side and did the whistle at the end. These guys were signing my guitar when the started singing. Great bunch of folks, one and all. My dad shot the video.
I love hearing the honor and respect that Artimus has for RVZ. I wish someday that I can go on the cruise. I've met Artimus a few times and he's amazing. So gentle and down to Earth. He loves the Skynyrd nation. God bless... THANK YOU for this video. It's one of my favorites.
This was a meet & greet session on Rock Legends Cruise. The performance was impromptu and we were unaware that the photographer was recording video (or that anyone was really paying attention). The chairs were still lined up from photographs. The guitar was for an upcoming auction and all artists on board were to sign. Once we all signed, I picked it up and noodled on it for a bit. Jerry and Brad came over to take a load off as well while Artimus was signing more stuff and talking. Then this happened. I'm glad it was captured.
Scott is no joke! Pound for pound, lick for lick, note for note Scott's been the epitome of Lynyrd Skynyrd ultimate fan since he was a kid, Skynyrd didn't play Skynyrd as good as Mr. Raines, lol! He's the best, I've personally learned so much from him. Scott literally helped me take my guitar journey to the next level! The man is simply amazing.
Man my white Labrador Orion passed in 2003 on a Tuesday. She was only 6 and died suddenly in her sleep, after i rushed off to work...telling her "I love you" one more time. We loved lots of people and kids, making them smile and laugh so much. Endless love was the path we traveled. Now, I was homeless and slept in my car from losing it all to a greed ex. Now, i got a newer Labrador, named her Horizon and she passed on Jan 7th, 2017 or 14 years later. A new day on the Horizon...i thought her whole life. This song and my love of my Labradors saved me from cashing out. Along with the love for Ronnie and Steve Gaines my whole life. I found this song "Tuesdays Gone", playing on a some video of Orion, Horizons and my restoration business. That both dogs helped.e create and successful in SAVANNAH, GA today. This song brought me to tears as a gift from Ronnie and Orion...or GOD himself and all his sweet love and creations. Thank God for the blues and love! Thank God for the Skynard boys and their soulful music. Tuesday Gone, my babys gone in the wind and I roll on..."
Just saw these gents in Indiana ... and let me tell ya, to hear them in concert in unbelievable. Talk about having an audience in the palm of their hand lol, wow. The harmony is so amazing, silky smooth as Vermont maple. Great acoustic rendition boys!
Bret Bartko Well Bret... there is NO lineup of Skynyrd after the crash and after members Ronnie and Steve are gone...there is only pile of greedy fuckers with aim of money..the story about them ( i hope ) one day will be told..and dont worry you "active members" Ronnie is waiting you up somewhere - your fucked !! Im only sorry that Artimus dident get what he deserved..true friend and great drummer..
+Marley Marley man I couldn't have said that any better. Artimus is a great guy, he's been treated like complete shit since that fateful day of October 20th 1977. The current lineup shouldn't even be called Lynyrd Skynyrd! I just wished that I could've been alive to have seen Ronnie Van- Zant, Steve Gaines, and Cassie Gaines perform.
I went to see Bad Company a few years ago, Lynyrd Skynyrd was opening. Soon as I heard them I was disgusted, and I said this is not fucking Lynyrd Skynyrd or even a decent impression. I walked out until they were off the stage. Tarnishing the good name of one of the greatest rock bands to me. Let it die and stop shaming the bands name.
There will never be another Ronnie Van Zant! Ya'll did a great job but, Lynard Skynard still rules over 35 years later! R.I.P. Ronnie and all other band members and crew who died on that day that lives on like the memory of J.F.K., Martin Luther King, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman and many, many more who are gone, but not forgotten and never will be.
Pure talent right here, not like any of the EDM shit that people listen to now today, these guy are sick and are better then any rapper or dj. These guys have talent unlike DJ's where all they have to do is hit a button
I have heard it argued that you had to be better in the 70s. A kid had to save up his money to buy an album, about 40 dollars in todays money. Nowadays kids pay a buck for one crappy Justin Beiber song. It comes down to make money off of quantity not quality. Nobody will want to hear any of Justin Bieber's music 40 years from now.
This was GREAT, just GREAT!!! I love their version....to the point I watched again. Still can't listen to a full song with the current Skynyrd :( Love Artimus!!!
I've listen to this song for many years and I still don't understand it. Is he leaving her, or has she left him. Tuesdays gone...no you just left her at home and got on a train. ??
Scott, I must’ve watched this performance of tuesdays gone hundreds of times because of the embellishments you added while leaving the original chords. Can you do a lesson on how you played this with the embellishments? I see you guys each time you come to the beacon theatre in hopewell va. Thanks!
This is the way Ronnie meant his music to sound. Johnny Dollars and the rejects, AKA the modern Lynyrd Skynyrd are all about merchandising and music takes a second place.
You ever seen today's skynyrd version of this song on vicious cycle live you tell me this is any comparison to that version I'm sorry fellow skynyrd fan this crap compared to that
Biglegos44 Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins are the writers of Tuesday's Gone. We (Artimus Pyle Band) carry on the music of Ronnie Van Zant's Lynyrd Skynyrd. The REAL Lynyrd Skynyrd. ;)
Damn fine picking and singing, real musicians here, no effects or autotuners, just plain old fashion talent.

HOW AWESOME!!! I love Artimus... he's so sweet and down to earth.

Wow what a great experience for you. Absolutely love this version. I got to step up my game!
😎
Nice,
Lucky Lady!
I bet words couldn't describe that experience,
👍.

+Scott Raines I love you guys
One of the best covers I've ever heard. ...beautiful.... 6 minutes where everything came together
Scott, this impromptu performance is raw, authentic and awesome. Great musicians can make great music anywhere and that’s what occurred here. Rock on.
Wow this guitarist is absolutely excellent. His version is beautiful.
His name is Scott Raines!!
Yes he rocks TRUE Skynyrd
Scott generously shares his version on his channel

I was there for this , it was one of the most memorable pieces of heavenly music I have ever had the privilege to hear !!!! Nice job boys !
The very best part of this is Artimus in the background wishing he had a video of that...Merry Christmas Gomer!
That's a special song - no doubting the soul here.

Artimus Pyle Band sounds better than the current Skynyrd lineup today. I'd love to meet Artimus, he is a damn good guy

You are so right! I watch this EVERY DAY! This is what an acoustic guitar should sound like.... Beautiful. GUITAR+SINGER=A SONG!!!!! "TURN IT UP!!!!"
haha, what a bunch of idiots. I saw the current Skynyrd earlier this year. They sounded great, place was packed & nobody left.
this song gets better each time I hear it

You should listen to modern music, that sometimes covers this kind of music. I still appreciate modern music even if i listen to "old" music
the best song on TH-cam
This was GREAT, just GREAT!!! I love their version....to the point I watched again. Still can't listen to a full song with the current Skynyrd :( Love Artimus!!!

Working on the road some times you half to walk away from what you love.
Travelling band kinda thing.

+Scott Raines Artimus Pyle is extremely bitter
Bullshit
Wrong lyrics on the last verse but we’ll let that go.
blows johnny out of the water..SORRY BUT TRUE
Yep,what you said. Sad but true.
Probably should learn all the lyrics.
