    I did not expect (but love) the sound of that trapeziod waveform when the amplitude goes down. I guess the Befaco is more precise, but what it does with the sine's bottom is just as unexpected. I had no idea they'd be so different. Thanks for sharing!

      In fact, for me.. befaco approach sounds better, more dense in any patch. These guys use to make really good modules, and this one worths it

    They are different, but both beautiful.
    I tend to use Moddemix for its sonic results.
    IMHO A*B+C is very useful for CV manipulation, like scaling a sequence, voltage mirroring, as a rectifier, or for slowing down a LFO with negative offsets.
    It’s like Moddemix + maths channels 2 and 3.
    Thanks for sharing!

    after seeing your video i immediately powered up my gear and checked my axb+c on the scope. well i don't have any glitches on the sine wave. i checked with different frequencies. unipolar (vca ) as well as bipolar multiplication (ring mod). i have a diy befaco axb+c. as i remember they tweaked the module a bit in version 2. your glitch can also come from your modulator source. technicaly the multiplication is realised with a very simple chip. so there are better designs. we like the moddemix because its coloring the pure sine ... well technically non of them should color! so for me befaco wins here.

    Befaco Hex VCA is best.

    I got the Befaco kit (gonna build it tomorrow). I really bought it to use it as a CV utility in order to add more complexity to sequences. I honestly didn’t think of it as a VCA even though I knew it could do that. I’m a big fan of Make Noise though but most of the stuff I have is the stand alone units.

    You can definitely hear the fuzz coming out of the ModDemix. I feel like I really want my polarizer to handle CV well, so I'm not sure I want that color...

      you probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
      I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me

      @Mohamed Ayaan i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
      Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

    Wondering how the Doepfer A-133-2 compares to the ModDemix...

    • @piotr803
      @piotr803 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Doepfer is probably quite similar to Befaco. ModDemix is unique here because it uses a diode in the circuit, which causes that clipping when the signal gets close to zero.

    Moddemix sounds better to me. More interesting. It would probably drive people who are looking for a cleaner, more classic ring mod absolutely nuts though. Getting the bell tones and such would be more difficult. The befaco is clearly better for mixing cv.
