I hope mocha adds something like that if something goes out of frame means if its gone then mocha should just skip those frames and when that thing comes again in frame then it should continue the track again and not give any error so it will be good
A note. The reason its okay to just select 'Translation' at the very end, is because we have the tracking data for other properties (scale, shear, perspective) already, and in the above video, the bus is almost entirely out - and its motion while it goes out is super simple - so just translation should be fine there (the object is almost out anyway) If the motion as it went out was super complex - either a manual track or adjust track would have to be done
Yes, basically spot on. Another time where you might want to use more than Translation would be to stabilize the perspective shift from a nodal camera movement like a pan or tilt.
What about adding linked tracking areas to your track layer? You identified the cycling symbol on the road, but couldn’t you add to that and pick other, uninterrupted coplanar “bits” like, joins and edges on the sidewalk, (which from this distance is pretty much coplanar to the crosswalk)… ?
Yes, that's a great strategy and works really well. We show that in Exercise 04a of the Mocha Essentials series (Linking here for other viewers : borisfx.com/free-training/mocha-essentials/)
This shouldn't be an issue. Analyse the shot and see where there might be problems, as often this can be fixed with just a quick change, even something as simple as changing the size of the tracking shape. Common things to look for are : Are there shadows crossing the face that may throw the tracker off? Remember to use track mattes for occlusions. Is there large movement or excessive motion blur? Adjust the track type and tracking parameters, including "Max % of Pixels Used" and "Search Area". Does the subject look dark like the background? Try using a different Input Channel or Pre-processing to heighten the contrast and show more details in the area you want to track.
@@borisfxlearn no thats the Thing. i must confess i dont know much, but the Head is totally sperated from the Sky in the Background, and it still can follow it. can you make a tutorial maybe all about that?

Thanks for the feature request. I'll pass it on to the dev team.

Can you post on the forum with a couple of screenshots. It might be easier to diagnose what's happening. forum.borisfx.com/
