I keep having dreams where I'm graduating high-school again, I've gotta so sick of it that I try to get out of the school as soon as I realise what's going on.
Still sooner than the updated TAS that's being worked on-- and off. Maybe by the 25th anniversary (no, I actually want to get it done well before then, lol).
It unfortunately does not, this is due to the hooking of Hourglass. Eventually an updated TAS will get completed and take its place with working audio.
Yume Nikki underlines and overlines just how much of an influence the Mother series was on gaming as a whole, and in turn how much Yume Nikki influenced games like Undertale. ...The conclusion was a little harrowing, probably should have given a heads up for that.
For those that don't want to see the disturbing content: end the video at about 9:54 (the moment where Madotsuki pinches herself to wake up.) Dropping all the effect eggs in the Nexus is the last input-heavy sequence, so the few seconds after it is just slow walking until Madotsuki can interact with the stepladder on the balcony. You won't miss much by stopping there for your own sake.
there's debate. some say yes, some say no. for example, see the jellyfish creatures at the end? since those only exist in her dream, some people say she only died in her dream. they also note the lack of a dead body. which there should be, if it were a death "in real life". (i wrote this before but accidentally deleted it.)
@@SpyroTheEternalNight Yeah, that theories that she could be stuck in her dreams for some reason and we're not see the reality at all for entire length of the game, so that ending is actually a good one, so she escaped from that dream trap.

20th Anniversary of Yume Nikki, so enjoy a reencode of this old TAS.
Happy 20th anniversary Yume Nikki
An accurate representation of having the same dream so many times that you begin speedrunning it out of frustration

This time without intro
The original encode had an issue regarding music not playing in some places - did it get fixed here?

@@Spikechive Yes, I noticed that in the ending.

I mean LISA predates Undertale and started as a Yume Nikki fangame if you want to go by timelines of influencials.

Yep, RPG maker game, has to have horror elements (Here, just the character off-ing herself at the end) That's why those games just stinks
This is the _original_ RPG maker game with horror elements. It created the genre.

Actually I would say this comment is the definition of “guy that never should’ve been given internet”
