- The Lamborghini SC63 LMDh testing at Sebring Raceway before its IMSA race debut at the 2024 Sebring 12 Hour race, running in the GTP class. The car will make its World race debut at the WEC Qatar 1812KM, racing in the Hypercar class. The turbo hypercars are really funny to me because every clip I see is just "man that thing sounds just like the Cadillac" and then the exhaust faces the mic and I realize I was literally just hearing the Cadillac

Unfortunately the track is always closed for tests but you can watch from the hotel lawn. There were more cars at this test than I've ever seen there. 20+ IMSA cars in the afternoon and at least that many in the morning for the support series (GT4, LMP3, Porsche Cup, Ferrari Challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo)

Wishing them all the best for the program. Huge Lamborghini fan. Car sounds and looks great. LMDh regs helped this car exist. The ACO hypercar regs are great but those cars are just so much more expensive to create and develop. Hoping the ACO maybe give the LMDh cars a bit more of a performance break this year. Love the Lambo livery…the only thing I don’t like is the mock side duct painted on it to look like the Countach. It already has one…no need for a fake larger painted one. 😂 otherwise awesome car. Can’t wait for teamwear to be released!😂😊
I still think they should have did Daytona. At least they'll see what will break at Sebring!😊
The crash of one of their vehicles during testing set them so far back that they had to postpone the R24. Not gonna lie, I have big doubts about them this year.
One car will run at Qatar so at least they'll have that data for Sebring.

@@Mr.Waffullz If I recall, that's because it had to be homologated to run in IMSA regardless if they were gonna run the 24 or not.

Thanks! I've spent lot of time there that's for sure. That's really the only place you can hang out and watch from when the track is closed to spectators during test sessions

I was too! I understand one of the 2 test cars was crashed and this is the new replacement. The other car in full green livery that tested at Daytona and CoTA has been sent back overseas to race at Qatar in a couple weeks

I wish these cars sounded as good as they look. I just watched some clips from 1998. I dare anyone to do it. close your eyes and you will hear the BMW V-12, the Panoz V8, the Vipers, the Ferrari 333-SP.. 😢 It's getting better, though.

Is the Lambo a clean sheet design(mainly referring to the chassis)? They're owned by VAG which also owns Porsche and Audi who know a thing or two about Endurance Racing.
It's designed under LMDh rules which means they have to use one of the 4 approved chassis constructors and then they put their bodywork on it and engine in it. Lamborghini is a Ligier chassis and Porsche is Multimatic.
Other than stiffer suspension and tail light... it's identical to the 499p

Well so I know its not a legacy Lambo engine, BUT MAN THE SOUND IS UNDERWHELMING! I do take my hat off the Aston Martin that didn't compromise in the same way, makes up for them pulling out of the inception of the Hypercar era.

It was a mix. The Lamborghini was listed as WEC testing and about 20 other cars were out there listed as IMSA testing, plus a couple Mercedes from the Fanatec GT series.

This was supposed to be the first of a two day test so they were probably using different drivers but I don't know who's driving it here
Anyone know why they decided to miss the Daytona 24H? Could have been a good test, as no real pressure competing against teams that have already completed a full season.
They didn't feel they were ready to take on Daytona with the new car, even with all the testing they did.
not to mention daytona takes up a considerable amount of the yearly budget, for some teams over 50%@@milspec4

They wrecked a car in testing at Daytona and their supply chain for this brand new prototype is rudimentary to say the least
Any danger of Sebring actually making the surface a road, and not the lumpy back road surface they seem to want to keep?
They'll probably repave the asphalt parts at some point, they close the track a few weeks every year to pave and patch areas around the track. But probably the old concrete sections (turn 1, 15-16, 17, front stretch) they'll leave and just grind down the concrete when it gets too deteriorated. The concrete they race on in those sections was layed down in 1941.

Why isnt Lamborghini doing something special, engine wise? I know there are limitations in chassis architecture, but look at the fanbase of the Cadillac or when the Porsche RSRs was racing. The flatplane V8 twinturbo really sounds so similar between the prototypes that use it. And racing cars like this help to create the image of Lamborghini, and kids would love a bespoke v10 or something of that nature. Cool car nonetheless.

The tracks closed to spectators for tests so there's only a few spots you can see the track from, so it would just be more video from the same spots. Plus it was in and out of the pits a lot and there were 20+ other cars on track so very hard to know when it was back on track from looking at headlights. I have a video of the car testing at Daytona also on my channel.
