    PARTICLES ARE HARD ㅠㅠ I understand how challenging it is for you guys to take it all in, because even trying to explain these stuff as a native Korean speaker is not easy. I got lost several times mid-explanation while trying to make it digestible to everyone. So please don’t worry too much if you can’t get all of them right away. I remember learning about the correct usage of English prepositions felt difficult as well, because one particle has several meanings. So, you’re not alone! Keep working hard and practice with as many sentences as you can until you get the hang of it.
    🌸time stamp🌸
    00:00 -(으)로's four main usage
    01:08 -(으)로’s 받침 rule
    03:00 First Usage : Direction
    09:36 Second Usage : "to" a place (vs. -에)
    19:03 Third Usage : A means of transportation & tool
    27:21 Fourth Usage : Choice
    35:32 Outro & About the Quiz
    Review Note: explorekorean.net/beginner1-lesson26/
    And here’s the link to the new quiz:
    Quiz #2
    drive.google.com/file/d/1nN9eVyET1S_yVuWLIqIEqojTLX1--fZp/view?usp=sharing
    And if you haven’t checked the previous quiz, here you go:
    Quiz#1
    drive.google.com/file/d/1DmqQ6SvE2W5fOWVlMdjdx-J3HgLoXSYn/view?usp=sharing
    Based on these two quizzes, we’ll do a live class, most likely this Monday.
    You can join the class to check the answers and review the particles we learned. Please make sure to do the quiz yourself first before joining the class :)

    And last but not least, thank you for studying with me ^^ 화이팅 !!

    Woooow, what an excellent teacher you are Vicky. You say you got lost in some explanations but you really make these particles lessons so understandable! Your examples are very clear and your process of thinking and planning the lessons is very logic. I can appreciate ( and thank) the effort you invest in trying explain in detail every rule or exception, like not letting anything slip. Hi Vicky, I have a question for the sentence at 21:30 (confused with the sentence at 12:50). I noticed the particle "까지" is used here. Is it okay to also use "로" here? If it's not interchangeable, is there a particular reason why "까지" has to be used? THANK YOU!!!

    • @bydamaz3101
      @bydamaz3101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Someone raised up the same question in the particle review session. I'm wrapping up what Vicky was saying here in case anyone didn't check that out. Basically "까지" emphasizes the range between two spots. Since we are specifically asking how long does it take between those two places, we are emphasizing the range from starting point to the destination. That's why "까지" is used.

    Another fantastic lesson. At 32:36 - Just to clarify, using "로" as a "choice", can be translated as "in particular" or "specifically". Hence "어디로 갈까" = "Where shall we go particularly/specifically"
    So you answer like "호주로" (to Australia particularly, not France, not Italy, not anywhere but Australia , period. Australia is my choice) 빅키샘 맞아?

  • @ChrisHillOlympicRecurveArchery

    At 20:10 , wouldnt it be 으로, since the word 지하첟 ends in ㄷ? Or is it only 로 when using it as the word by?

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The subway is "지하철" and it ends in ㄹ 받침. As we learned, if a preceding noun ends in ㄹ받침, 로 instead of 으로 should be placed :) You can check that part again from 01:08

    안녕하세요! I have a question, can you also use 로 when talking about time?
    For example:
    저는 7시에서 8시로 티비를 볼거 예요.

    • @asmaaezzat7829
      @asmaaezzat7829 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually No😅
      For time you should use the structure 부터... 까지
      부터 means from
      까지 means until
      So it should be
      저는 7 시부터 8시 까지 티비를 볼 거예요
      You should never use 에서 with time
      For places both 에서 and 부터 are used
      서울에서 부산까지 얼마나 걸려요? How much does it take from seol to Busan
      서울부터 부산까지 얼마나 걸려요?
      Starting from seol how much does it take to Busan?
      Hope it helps 😊

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Jake Ph For time, it should be 7시 에서(or 부터) 8시까지. 로 isn't used with time, unless you're talking about the "choice" of time

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@asmaaezzat7829 Thank you for the response !! :) Just one correction: 에서 can be used with time when talking about the range of time, like from 1'o clock (한시에서) to 2'o clock (두시까지). But other than that, great explanation. thank you for helping each other out!

    If someone tell me "앞으로 보세요" what should I do? Should I see to the front or go to the front (since 보다 have so many meanings)

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky

      This one's very tricky to explain. 앞에 보세요 and 앞을 보세요 sound natural, and both mean to "look front" and both are grammatically correct. But 앞으로 보세요 sounds a little unnatural, although it would mean look front as well.

    "에서" and "까지"
    "에서" and "로" still can't comprehend the difference

    • @KoreanwithMissVicky
      @KoreanwithMissVicky  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When marking places, (으)로 is more for indicating direction or where you’re headed, whereas 까지 is about marking the end point, like a destination. So they can sometimes be interchangeable without much difference in meaning, but it is more natural to use 까지 when indicating a range or emphasizing the destination.
