    Went out and bought a B2601 about 2 weeks ago (mostly due to seeing the capabilities shown on your videos) and already had an "aha" moment. My father owns an excavation company so I've been off and on heavy equipment most of my life, but NEVER on a tractor. Major differences between them. Anyway, I had my rops down to clear my garage and lifted the 3 point to full height. Little did I know the top link hit off the top of the folded rops and turned the top link in to a banana. $58 lesson learned.

      Hey good day Dave! Congrats on the new tractor. And glad if the videos helped a little to show you what it can do and what it can't. Still 100% happy with mine after more than a year. Sorry to hear about the ROPs but glad it was not too expensive. Lots of little things to learn for sure. Enjoy it! Thanks for watching and for the comment - safe tractoring!

    Hi GP,
    It took me a couple of views, but I saw the moose! I had a bull moose walk through my back yard (garden) shortly after I moved up here. Great and exciting experience. We've seen them in the woods a couple of times also. Nice fix on the tractor. Stay warm! Peace.

    GP it took me a few shots to see the moose! It may have been around since a while. As you said, you were able to see it because it moved. Now that you will be looking for it, you might see it again! Oddly enough, we don't see much critters where I live. This being an old sugar bush, they don't adventure much because they don't have much cover. Good to have the lights fixed! Thanks!

    About 8 years ago we had a moose up here. Grew quite a crowd watching him. The DEC came to. I get deer on my property off. Got some wild turkey hanging around. I got a big old owl taking up residency lately. Chasing down all the mice and snacking on them. I live near the southern start of the Adirondack mountains here in NY.

    Wow! That must have been magical. Living in a semi-urban area, we don’t see much other than rabbits usually, so I love going up north and seeing all the wildlife. Moose are very majestic, quiet creatures. One of my favorites. I do not like troubleshooting electrical issues one bit. That cost me a lot of money on the Bayou I had, thanks to the first guy that owned it... two words; rat’s. nest. That guy loved his lights and winches and stuff, lol! Just didn’t know how to keep it tidy. Nice to work in a heated shop, though. I don’t have one of those, and I know they bring the patience meter up about 200%, lol! Good job on the fix GP. Take care.

    Sorry for the late idea but buy Guy some dielectric grease and lightly coat the sockets and bulb bases. Prevents corrosion in damp environments. Just remember to clean it (and finger oil) off the bulb glass with alcohol - or you'll be swapping them out again fairly quickly ;^)
    BTW, LEDs worked beautifully on my tractor. They're much brighter. Didn't need to swap out the flasher.

    • @GPOutdoors

    Hey GP, leave the Moose alone and just watch from inside and they will get braver and come out in the open more and not be afraid of the human scent. Don't let them get to brave cause they sure are unpredictable ;-)

    Barely saw her. A few years ago we took a motorcycle ride from Portland, OR to Glacier NP. On the Coeur d'Alene River road, right there standing chest deep in the water, was a big cow moose! We stopped, turned around, and pulled over to watch...for at least 20 min. What a catch!!! Just serendipitous, but the highlight thus far. Keep looking, GP! God puts great "Easter eggs" out there for us, if we seek.
    GP, what are you using there for your chain sharpener? I see it up on your pegboard with assorted chains.

    Hi Gord,
    It was great to see the moose! That is so cool to have wildlife like you do at your cabin. We get a lot of elk, deer, rabbits and the occasional bear around our place too.
    Funny you had that issue with your flashers. I had a similar issue with my tractor. I was changing out my brush hog the other day and noticed that I had a set of wires hanging loose under the left fender. It turns out that the wiring harness had somehow come apart. I am not sure how it happened, but all I had to do was snap the wires harness back together and it was working again.

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey good day Mick! Yes, was pretty exciting for me. Thanks for the heads up on the wire harness. Mine was ok. Just turned out to be burned out bulbs but I will know in a few days whether there is a wiring issue. So far so good, and I know I use the flashers a lot. I will keep an eye on it though. Be well and have a great weekend!

    Good to see a moose but I'll have to take your word for it as I didn't see the moose in the Vid!!! Have you ever thought of putting LED lights in? I did that on my tractor and the load on the alternator was dropped considerable. If you do change over, make sure you get the LEDs that can work with flashers. Since LEDs are a lesser load sometimes the flashers won't work correctly. Nice video and I'm enjoying watching them!!!! Thanks for posting!!!

      I was surprised to see pre-80’s tech style bulbs in the B2601. It is a basic chassis ground system and worked for years and years when vehicles consistently had metal parts.

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Coy. Yes, it seems that I simply burned out the bulbs so the system is working fine. I was surprised after all these years to see they are using the old 1156/1157 bulbs. LOL. I remember them from my earlier days of working in a few auto garages. But hey. at least they are cheap. Cheers!

    U sure that wasn't a ghost moose?? (Heheheh) Didn't see it, but glad u were able to fix the tractor. As you say, it's pretty rare that two bulbs on the same side go at the same time. Keep up the good work.

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Norseman!! Great to hear from you . Yes, I know it is hard to see - it is in the middle of the shot most of the time on the driveway through the trees. Black outline and at the end you will see it up on the driveway and she sprints into the forest. I wish I could have got a better closer shot but she didn't want to be filmed I guess. I could see her clearly with my eyes. Yes I was a little suspect about the bulbs but I know I use them a lot. I will know for sure if the bulb burns out in the next week or so then there is a wiring issue. Otherwise just worn out. Be well and all the best to you and your family!

    I was relly surprised that you don't have that many moose there, we get them all the time as you probably know. They will come right up to the house and press their nose against the kitchen window. I always worry they will brake the glass. How cold has it been when you have used your tractor? I am curious about that because it is -15 F (-26C ) here now and I am not sure whether I should use it at this temp. Lucky you withe the easy fix. Take care.

    I bet you have a short. It is too weird that both blew at the same time. I guess if they both blow again, you will know and have to look for it. Likely the tiniest little cut in the wire and when it wiggles into just the right position, it shorts it out.

      Hey good day Burbs! I am on the same wavelength. So going to keep an eye. If it burns another one out in short order then I know I have an issue. Otherwise probably just because I use them so much. The fact is they didn't blow at the exact same time but the second one blew not too long after the first one. Thanks for the help!
