I like the unpredictable way this song progresses considering its warmth and immediate, inexplicable familiarity.

The amount of chemistry between these girls is amazing. Truly beautiful chemistry.
Having a hard time understanding why they haven't won some kind of award for being the best female band in the world.
There are reasons for that: they don't insert "hooks" in their songs; they do not repeat the chorus 6 or 7 or 8 or 10 or 12 times. They don't dance in their videos (except for "New Song" filmed in Manhattan)". They do not make up their faces or their hair. On camera, they do not "whore it up". All of those things would have made them superstars, would have gotten them on Jimmy Fallon and SNL, and won them Grammy awards. There you go. By the way, they are the BEST BAND in the world; leave out the "female". Thanks. God bless.

This song will always have a special place in my heart. I heard it for the first time in 2013 and I was instantly in love.
I saw a live session with Warpaint a few days ago that was about a year old. Amazing to see and hear how they have changed and how they have stayed the same. Emily and Jenny look so young here! But what an amazing band. I believe they are unique in that they are the only band that doesn't have a single song that I don't like. The only one.

I have never been able to get over Jenny holding back a smile at 3:17. It's just at the part of the song where the rhythm is picking up and the harmonies are coming together. You can tell they're just having a blast vibing together.
Man she nails that "The Cure" bass sound. Perfect. The mix is astonishingly good on these tracks.
I post this everywhere but this is a great do over of the horrible mix on exquisite corpse. But inexplicably the mix is good on Krimson. It's heartbreaking when you listen straight through. I like the rough trade versions of Billie holiday and majesty better than albums also.
The Cure is boss
I like their sudden tempo change. It's quite a game changer and then they slip back into the original tempo -- just like a lot of music of the Romantic era of classical music. This is nice. I like this. I'm always looking for new music to listen to and this is probably my best find for the day.
The drummer and the bass player are fucking gorgeous by the way.

guitar perfect, vocals sublime, bass is in its groove and the drums carry the song from floaty bliss into something that i can only describe as 'fucking win' when that change hits at 3:45 ish.

This is a truly beautiful vocal performance. Emily's delivery is perfect from start to finish. And that is not to diminish the instruments and harmonies. Incredible!

at one point the groove goes from Cure's "spiderman' to Jefferson Airplane's "white rabbit" to something from Modest Mouse . Well crafted songs with excellent drumming and some occasionally haunting and novel vocals. A true "band", a collaboration, where each member is vital to the sound.
I noticed the White Rabbit feel too, love it here. This is one of my favorite songs from Warpaint. Very chill rhythm.
'spiderman' = 'Lullaby' by the Cure - agree that there's a similar guitar riff and bass sound going on at the start

Every tune that these beautiful magicians play I am once again mesmerized by how amazingly perfect Stella's accompaniments are. Warpaint is such a gift to the world of music and I cannot help but feel that someday soon the rest of the universe will understand how shockingly beautiful their music is

Agree, all the rough trade versions are better than their album counterparts. I think I just like the more stripped down sound of actual instruments better that the over-processed sound on the album. They are amazing guitarists, and a lot of that tends to get lost or buried beneath all the digitally processed sounds.
My favorite version of one of my favorite songs. Emily's vocals, especially @2:01 mark, make me shiver and give me goose bumps every time, only to be heightened by T's moans around the 3:06 mark. On the whole, it has a Modest Mouse vibe to it, but this song is perfect in so many ways. Haunting, ethereal, atmospheric, groovy, and lyrically uplifting...They aren't "whining about relationships" at all in this song. Quite the opposite, actually--this is more akin to a hymn in celebration of love.

This band is epic. They hypnotised me with they ethereal voices and the awesome music they play. It's soo good to see a girl's band finding their own style with a personal touch, very emotional, feminine and "fragile", but it rocks soo much!
