- We had to figure out if old school trolling for trout is a better way of #fishing than the new #powerbait. We had a geat time fighting fish and figuring out the tricks to get the big ones to bite!

It’s such a smooth even bend on that rod! I think the blank is a “Rainshadow” 4-10lb going to go lighter on line and treble hook size 12

I've been on bp's turnaround on night shift past month. I'm normally on days and this sat is lake opener and I can't get out! 😮 one more week if the refinery gets up and running....and so until then I live fishing adventures vicariously through you 😆
My go-to trolling gear is 15lb braid to a 4-6lb flouro leader with a green wolly bugger. I use small macks flashers, cause it's small mountain lakes. When I go deep use my downrigger and a dodger :)

I told Rocco I wanted a rematch.
Hopefully another trout trip soon. I’m now ⚙️ up with 8lb mono main line and 6lb segar leader to a size 12 treble hook.
Might see a bit of an improvement in my catch ratio!
I was up there a couple weeks ago me and the family went to the willamette fish hatchery it was really cool

What brand of fish repellant were you using, Brian? It's quite effective! I've never seen a virgin rod get ignored so much. Did you kick a dog or something before the trip? Not to worry, Rocko was there! Never trolled power bait before, strange. Try a piece of pork chop? You tried eating, try sleeping? Beauty rod though. That's what we call being "in the bucket." Rocko secretly bathed in power bait the night before. Healthy trout there! Somedays its like that Brian. I have success trolling flies in lakes. Awesome video!
