  • Patagonia is a vast mineral land on the southern most tip of southern America, shared by Argentina and Chile, full of changing environments like grassland, glaciers, deserts, and rainforests. See how three people live their lives in among this stunning scenery, from Lorenzo, who will show us the fascinating life of the massive Condor bird, to Hoke, who shows the regions most beautiful rivers. Finally we meet Manual, who works for a ranch and tends to the livestock far from any large city.

Also consider Morocco, it has the Atlantic ocean, the Sahara desert and the Atlast mountain and the rich cuisine with world heritage sites in Fez and Marrakech.

it is a severe sin to put spanish music as background sound! gauchos have a rich musical tradition, or else put the sound of the wind, perhaps the most constant feature in these immense spaces where I used to live...

Half brazilian/half chilean here, living in Vancouver.
Patagonia, and south chile as a whole is the most magical place I've been. The reason why is because nature and culture are connected, you can't look at nature and not see the people, and you can't look at the people and not see nature, as it should be cause we're part of nature.
British Columbia is beautiful, don't get me wrong, but culturally speaking is just consumption, capitalism, individualism.
It makes the place shallow, overcrowded... People are disconnected from nature, and Chile just hits different.
    South America is magical.

At 2.42 ; ".... Land, so full of emptiness"? In reality, there were natives living there who were then conveniently killed or removed.
One of the most brutal episodes, known as The Desert Campaign, saw at least 14,000 indigenous people killed between 1878 and 1885 in the effort to incorporate Patagonia into the rest of Argentina.

Descendants of the native people who survived still bear the scars of the trauma. Telling lies about Patagonia being an empty land does not help. Acknowledging the truth in the commentary and mentioning tribe names the native cultures and languages their beliefs and customs may contribute to healing.

Patagonia was not an empty land ! European settlers cruelly exterminated native americans. The descendants of those who survived still bear the scars of these trauma. Such a documentary should at least tell the truth instead of drawing a romantic picture of a land stained with the blood of these native tribes. Apologies and acknowledgements are required to heal the collective trauma. This video should be either banned on TH-cam /France TV or better, edited to include a more honest commentary.
