It pains me to watch Regine like this... She's really a beast in belting. At the same time she brings sheer power of determination in performing at such health condition.. However, she doesn't need to prove anything to her fans and viewers alike... everybody knows what her vocal capabilities are... doing lipsynch, playback track (some parts) is not a bad thing when you know it's good for your voice preservation... Even the likes of celine, mariah and other powerhouses do lipsynch (only if it's needed)... I know Regine does this for her solid fans(including myself)... But Regine should take risks less now with her age and condition. Again, She doesn't need to prove anything, if you're a fan, then you know what I'm talking about. P.s. what I love about Regine here in these clips is her COMPOSURE, when singing under the weather or something she's not 💯% what a Legend!

My concern is that given that she has her voice back, she should have realized that if she doesn't take care of it and keeps on pushing and doing those unnecessary belts, she will lose the capability to hit those soaring notes early on. She should consider the longevity of her voice. I would still really like her to reach those notes even when she is in her 60s or even 70s. This has been my pet peeve with her ever since. She goes higher in a song even if it didn't call for it. This just brings unnecessary stress to her voice. She should really consider taking care of her voice now specially since she has experienced not having her voice in good condition for quite a lengthy time like what was shown in the video.

I think she has supaglottic squeeze issue when she go to certain notes, that is why she struggle. Meaning her vocal chords can't work properly on certain notes so her throat starting to squeeze harder. She clearly has some voice loss.
i beg to disagree. she hits high notes no matter how high it is if her voice is in good condition. Her acid reflux can sometimes make it difficult for her to sing notes that are not even that high for her.
@@jeikobriz I have same issue, that is why I know. She is having vocal squeeze. It happen speciallly when her vocal chords got tired from singing, then her throat started to compensate by squeezing. It is like when you hurt your leg, the other muscle will start to compensensate to support the weaker or injured muscle. I also have acid reflux issue for many years, I went to many ENT, they can't seems to figure out and all of then said acid reflux, until one doctor who specialized in diagnosing professional singers, found out that my issue was vocal fatigue through supaglottic squeeze. I developed that bad habit sue to having acid reflux while performing. For the sake of professionalism, I push hard just to survive in singing with acid reflux. Because of that I developed a bad habit which is supaglottic squeeze to compensate for my vocal chord's weekness through acid reflux. If she keep singing with that condition for the sake of professionalism, she will develop a vocal fold scarring. And hopefully not too late for her. Otherwise, she will endup having permanent vocal fold damage by trying to push very hard. Next thing you know, muscle memory (bad habit) kicked in creating more permanent damages.
